Friendly and reasonable place to meet friends and relax with a beer. Monday trivia night was a blast.

My boyfriend and I were in Columbus for the weekend. I found Coaches while doing an online search for a place to go. So glad I did. Karaōke on Friday, and everyone there made me feel at home. We went back the following night to watch the Stanley Cup playoff game. The appetizers we had were amazing, you have to try the Loaded Buck Nuts! My boyfriend said if we lived in Columbus, we would be in Coaches all the time. Next time we visit my sister, we are definitely going back to Coaches.

I go to Coaches at least once a week. Love everything about the place. Great staff and food. Good prices. Try the chicken tenders.

Went here with my kids the other day and I got to say the food was fantastic. Fried Macaroni and cheese, fish and chips and bread pudding for desert. The service was phenomenal and the prices were spot on. Plan on taking my dad here for lunch one day!

Our new favorite sports pub, fast and friendly service, and food that is a step above most other sports bars. Fish and chips are excellent, on a par with the Old Bag of Nails. Burgers are very good but the buns tend to be on the dry side, they need to upgrade. Chicken wings are huge and well worth the $ 5, and you can’t beat the $ 2 Yuengling drafts. Oh, and TVs are everywhere.

We love Coaches and have been going for years! We enjoy the patio and reasonable prices and until recently had nothing bad to say about the food. The menu changed and portion sizes are smaller on some items. Do not get the cheesy macaroni balls. Dough with macaroni and no cheese. This could be a fun dish on the menu if it was done right. Tater Tots are a nice addition, get them with the Cajun Ketchup. We’ll be there again this week and try something else on the new menu.

Good food and great place to hang. Alot of room and its clean. Pool table and great patio and happy hour. Music can be a little loud during dinner I find to talk, but other than that, its been fun to meet people and just relax

Coaches, always my favorite neighborhood hangout, has earned itself an extra star. For yes, continuing it great bartending and waitressing service, but also for now having craft beers on draft. Elevator and other local brewed micros, along with some corporate made domestics are on tap here, signaling to me, that the craft beer revolution is more than a passing fad, but a hardening trend threatening the Miller-Budweiser-Coors establishment to their very stock crashing core.(Good riddance to bad urine beer rubbish I say. Though Pabst will probably make it do to the irony factor.) The new and delicious crafts and IPAs will go good with what Coaches already brings: your basic neighborhood pub with pretty good food, pool, karaōke and trivia nights, TVs at every booths, and a huge patio with a covered bar to boot. The food here is a surprise. The quality is better than your typical neighborhood pub, and is only an inch behind Rossi and the like, which is a compliment. Though I don’t like their pulled pork(I am picky about that) I do enjoy their Coaches burger with ham. It comes with fries in a decent amount for the price. The remainder of their pub grub is good too. The interior is clean. The bar is square in the middle, plenty of brass which bring a bit of class. They have a huge table area to sit large groups. Booths as mention are comfy and intimate. The walls those have the usual OSU stuff that I find a nor end Columbus. Restaurant like, the bartenders serve you at the booths. They have a meal card deal that entitles customer for a free dish every several meals you buy. The servers here are awesome, charismatic, and have friendly smiles. I just adore their hard work, and the fact they remember me and my orders. Neighborhood pubs like this are rare, and are credited to the awesome people that run it.

Great little neighborhood bar, food is better than most bar/pub foods and they always have a happy hour special on alcohol. Stacy and the whole gang at the bar are prompt friendly servers and make it a treat to visit.

Great food! Small tvs in each booth! Great place for a game day! All their meats are smoked in house. Small but good tap list. Not too loud even during the Bengals vs. Browns game.

This place pleasantly surprised me. I hadn’t gone to Coaches in a couple years… last time I was there was for a trivia night, so I don’t think I had experienced their food. My bf had a gift certificate, so we went one Thursday night for dinner(6PM). We walked in and the dining room was empty with just a few patrons at the bar. We grabbed a booth – all of which have individual TVs, which is a nice little perk, so my bf could watch sports on the big screen and I could watch«anything but sports» on the small one. :) As I looked at the menu, I noticed some«fancier» things for bar food – brioche buns on burgers, a pork and chorizo burger, and gouda cheese – have you been in a bar that serves GOUDA??? My bf and I each got burgers and the nice thing is you have your choice of sides – without some upcharge for swapping out fries for a salad. My bf really seemed to enjoy his burger, but I didn’t think there was anything particularly outstanding about either sandwich… they were fine, but I wasn’t «blown away». The burgers are a hefty size – I only ate half, so I had leftovers. Prices seem reasonable. I would come back to see what their pizza is like. The whole dining/bar space was bright and clean and well-maintained – not divey like one would expect. Around the time we left(7:00 or 7:30), the crowd started to pick up a bit, perhaps to watch the opening night of the Bluejackets game. This seems like a good place to go with a group of friends, shoot pool, sing some karaōke, or play trivia. The food is solid and reasonably priced. You can enjoy a fun evening out without breaking the bank.

Don’t let the strip bar appearance throw you off. My boyfriend and I were the youngest ones in a 35+ crowd but that didn’t phase us. We came for dinner, beer and trivia and all three exceeded our expectations. As for food, the menu was not exhaustive and had typical bar fare that was very tasty. Coaches also had a number of unique beers on tap which was a nice change from the bud standard. Lastly, trivia was great! Prizes were awarded to first, second and third place.

I went to this place twice – once was pretty bad, the other was pretty good. In all honesty, I’ve given it 3 stars because it is a generic shopping center bar. In total, it sucks, but for what it is it is pretty good. Drinks were really cheap, we were allowed to play terrible music without much harassment. Although, the gentlemen at the other end of the bar didn’t seem to understand why their songs weren’t playing – they clearly didn’t know about the«play it next» option. If you live nearby and don’t want to drive somewhere better this place isn’t bad to get a drink, but now that I don’t live nearby anymore I doubt I will ever return. Bartenders were friendly, drinks were cheap, music was decent.

What surprised me most about Coaches was the food. Mostly pub fare, the prices were great and the portions were HUGE. On my visit I ordered fried green beans, fried mushroom and half a veggie sub that came with fries — for only $ 13! I intended to share, but no one really took me up on my offer, so I ended up barely even making a dent in my order. Good news is it was on the higher end of the pub grub I’ve had in my day — and did I mention it was a great deal? The beer selection is pretty standard and there are happy hour specials that last until 8 I think. On a Tuesday night for trivia this place was super packed! Great to see any local biz busy on a random Tuesday night. Besides the trivia game that was taking place, there were other groups who were taking in different sports games on their dozens of TVs. There were even personal TV’s in some of the booths! Hello, game days! But the fun doesn’t end there. Coaches has a huge patio, a pool table AND… AND…(wait for it…) Golden Tee 2012!!! I die. Eat your heart out, Tiger. Service in the dining area was a little hit/miss but the gals behind the bar were super attentive and on their shi%^. Overall Coaches serves up typical bar foods, done pretty well, and offers a great place to catch a game or get out of the house for a fun, laid back weeknight. A great strip mall find!

I have heard a few things about the Bethal Center bars, but never really ventured in them. I was excited when I found out they have a trivia night. It gave me the perfect excuse to check this place out. I convinced some friends to brush up on their 80s music and venture out of our normal trivia locations. I loved that they had TVs at each booth. It made watching the Heat/Celtics play off game(boooooo Heat) enjoyable. Also, anyplace that has Keno and Golden Tee is good in my book. I already ate dinner, but I got some fried green beans to nosh on while playing. Yummy. The rest of the menu looked pretty good. I would definitely consider coming back to sample the rest of it.

Alright, so I was pretty much way off on Coaches in my last review. I have been back 3 times since I wrote that and I’ve had a kick-ass time each and every time, so it gets a ratings bump. Good things about Coaches: –Airplane hangar-sized patio –Cheap beer($ 1.75 bottles of Yuengling during HH) –Superb jukebox –Stellar(and cute!) bartenders(who will gladly turn my 90s gangsta rap selections up to full blast — whoever was working ’til close last night, thank you for putting up with me. I heart u!) –Ridiculous number of TVs(I still dig the tiny TV at each booth) «Just OK» things about Coaches: –Service is a lil’ shaky in the dining area. Bar service is top-notch. Other areas need a bit of work –Food looks good on paper, doesn’t translate to real life –Beer selection still leaves something to be desired(but hey, it’s dirt cheap!) Things I hate about Coaches: –Smoking ban? What smoking ban? When you walk in, be prepared to breathe in your yearly dose of nicotine. The patio doors are situated so that the gigantic cumulus cloud of smoke that is generated outside gets caught up in a jetstream that leads directly into your nostrils. Thus, the interior of Coaches smells like you’re hanging out in a humidor. Overall, not bad for a strip mall sports bar! It’s redeemed itself enough for me to consider it in my rotation of spots for drunken debauchery.

If you are looking to take your talents to a pub, to watch a game or just have a beer with some friends– this is the spot for you. Some places are make it or break it depending on who you go with– and if you go with friends to this bar and grill, you are in for a fun night! This place gets crowded for two reasons, karaōke and any game night. When we arrive the staff willing accepts that we immediately push three tables together and begin yelling around for who is splitting what pizza and who is ordering the first round. There are plenty of TVs, a large square bar, and even a nice outdoor bar and patio. The food here is typical bar food, so it is amazing :) Don’t come here if you are on the latest diet of eating nothing but food that is green, and less than 25 calories. We have tried the nacho appetizers, fried pickles(snookie style), the pizzas(yum) and plenty of the subs on the list. They also have Keno here for the hardcore crowd! The noise level will always be loud though, so if you wanted a small, quiet chill place this may not be it.
