What a delicious place to get sushi! I especially love their spicy edamame but I’m not too crazy about the drinks that they offer. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly! I’m definitely coming back!

This is me eating crow. I promised my son I’d try them once, but I had already made up my mind to not like them. I was fully expecting a flop like the nearby 6−1-phở. But this is seriously good. I have been back twice since, and learnt a dear lesson.

Love that Fusian has expanded to Columbus! I first had it at their original restaurant in Cincinnati and have been hooked ever since. The ingredients taste great and I love that they have a soy wrap since I am not a big seaweed fan. My favorite is half crab stick, half tempura shrimp, white rice, soy wrap, spicy mayo & tempura crunch. I switch up the other ingredients but cream cheese is a must. This location is awesome! They converted an old service station and kept the garage doors. We were there on a gorgeous day so we wondered why they didn’t have the garage doors open, but maybe they don’t do that. The large windows on the garage doors still let in a lot of bright light and the space is very open. Great job Fusian! We will be back!

I love sushi and come up with any excuse to eat it. Fusion is convenient, fast food-ish sushi in a bright and modern building. Unfortunately it was just meh. The ingredients were fresh and there are a ton of things you can put in your roll. However, the contraption they use to spread the rice on the nori smashed the rice so much that it lost all of its body and was rather mushy. That’s an epic fail to me. I tried my boyfriend’s roll just to make sure I wasn’t crazy and his was the same way. I was also a little skeevy about the other contraption they used to cut the sushi because I couldn’t tell if the blades were cleaned after cutting a roll. But you can ask them to cut it with a knife if you have allergies and such. Not sure I’d return.

Fusian’s food is mediocre. Not impressed. It’s pretty much what I expected it to be. Fast food sushi. A mashup of sushi-meets-Americanized-modern-upscale-fast-food-responsibly-sourced-with a higher than justified price point. In the mold of Chipotle and Bibibop. I can see this concept being a big hit with the Northstar Café crowd. The format being a customize your own sushi roll bar. Pick your protein, veggies and sauces. My son and I ended up spending about $ 40 for 4 rolls. Just wasn’t worth it. I would have preferred to invest that money in real sushi. If you’re a lover of sushi like I am, I think you will be disappointed in the product. I don’t recommend eating here.

I love their energy. They were quick to make suggestions and every single employee was friendly and personable. The sushi itself was very comparable to higher end restaurants. The only thing keeping them from 5 stars is that I like my sushi a little colder than room temperature. But personal preference I’m sure! I will definitely be back to this location!

Ok, second time is the charm and now I’m sold for life! The $ 7.50 for the shrimp tempura roll was totally worth it. The kind staff were very patient with my requests — new bamboo wrap, new gloves, don’t let the wrap touch the line, hand cut. I know, I sound horrible, but this happens when you’re in your 9th month of pregnancy! Anyway, they were very kind to help me feel comfortable about any risk of cross contamination. I chose my own fillings this time, which I didn’t do during my first visit — just chose something off the menu. The roll was very filling, in fact I couldn’t finish mine, and so so so good. Can’t wait to come back and try the lavender lemonade — it looked very refreshing. Also like that they have compostable products. Great work, Fusian — a new Clintonville fav for me!

Make this your next lunch/supper visit because you won’t regret it. If you like Chipotle, Piada, Bibibop, etc, you won’t regret it. You don’t have to like raw fish here. The concept is that you can make your own sushi rolls and they have a variety of ingredients. Let’s get started, shall we? The wrap. If you like sea weed, great. But if you’re the type of person who doesn’t like the taste or texture of seaweed, don’t worry, you have another option. It’s their soy wrap. You may have heard it or seen it somewhere else. It’s advertised as a wrap that has no particular flavor. It just keeps all the ingredients together. The rice. They have two options: white or brown. White is the traditional way sushi is made but with all the health craze going on, brown rice sounds like a good alternative. Protein. They have beef, chicken, crab, shrimp tempura, salmon, smoked salmon, tuna, and seasoned tofu. See? The only raw protein here are the salmon and tuna. I personally don’t like raw fish too much so it’s perfect for me! Their beef and crab meat combo is the bomb. You HAVE to try it. It will blow your mind. Oh, and this is where your cost is determined. Each protein has a set price but if you want double, it’s $ 1.50 extra. Other ingredients. I can’t list everything here but they have all the basics, such as avocado and cream cheese, to seasonal veggies, such as beets and roasted red peppers. This is the fun part I think: trying out all the possible combinations you can think of. And don’t worry, no matter how much vegetables you add, it’s the same price! Sauce. I LIVE for their sauces. They have a wide range but my favorites are the spicy mayo(a classic choice) and WASABIMAYO(mind-blowing). I like their sweet soy and yakisoba sauce but if you ask me which one’s which I can’t tell you because they taste similar. I always get two sauces so that may be why. Maybe sweet soy is sweet and yakisoba is more savory. Beverage. If you’re a soda kind of person, beware because they don’t have any soda options. However, maybe it won’t hurt you to try something healthy for once? Their collection is amazing and what struck me was that they’re all made from scratch. So don’t expect that mega sweet lemonade taste because they’re not. My favorites are their agave gingerade and black tea. If you’re unsure what combination to try, try this: Sea weed, white rice, beef and crab meat(ask for double if you want both of them spread out instead of half and half), cucumber, carrots, asparagus, avocado, jalapeño peppers, spicy mayo and sweet soy. If you like all these ingredients, this combo will work for you and it will get you started for your next trip. I have been here probably about five times or more within the past two months. I’ve been to the campus location a few times as well. I just can’t get enough of it! If you’re still unsure after looking through their photos, check their website and their instagram page. Once you’ve tried it, you’ll be hooked.

Chipotle styled sushi restaurant. Quick. Fresh. Delicious. They have a special protein and beverage of the month too. **I recommend getting your roll topped with the crab meat for a little bit more. It makes it a bit more filling if you are worried about that. They also have a scrumbscious ginger carrot salad.

I’ve been meaning to get over here since they opened a few months ago, but alas, life gets in the way! I absolutely cannot do seaweed, so the soy option is great! I got a soy wrap with white rice, shrimp tempura, avocado, carrot, cucumber, jalapeño, yakisoba sauce, sweet chili sauce, and tempura crunch… oh, and spicy mayo on the side(I hate mayo but can do flavored mayo/aioli in very small amounts). YUM! It was delicious, and since I live close, may have to stop in pretty often for a lunch or dinner. I also got the carrot salad with ginger dressing, which I’ve had at other places before, and it was just eh. Maybe next time I’ll try the miso soup or cucumber salad. Also, it’s not SUPER filling, but I also eat a lot. I think there may be some days where I’ll get two rolls… so if you’re someone who can really put away some food, one will probably not be enough. Workers are super friendly, like some of the happiest workers I’ve ever seen. They were also super helpful with any questions. Only complaint I have is they could add a couple more tables. I got my food and had to wait a few minutes until a table left, and it wasn’t even really busy because I went at an off hour, so I can’t imagine what it’s like during peak times. Cool space though, and I like that they paid homage to the old service station that used to occupy the spot.

I was first intoduced to Fusion at the Unilocal preview day a few months ago. I was scared of sushi before not really scared but skeptical. I don’t like anytype of seafood. But to my surprise sushi can be eaten in different ways. The fast casual restaurant allows an individual to be creative and design your dream sushi roll. To start awrap is chosen followed by a rice, proteins, proteins, veggies, sauce and toppings. If confused a handy, dandy menu offers suggested parings. I tried the chicken suggestion and my partner in eating is a sushi aficionado and created something with tuna. I inhaled my chicken creation with my fingers until I was encouraged to use chopsticks or sometype of eating utensils. On a double dog dare I carefully ate a piece of tuna roll. To my surprise it wasn’t that bad. The drink selection is amazing organic green and black teas, seasonal selections and my fave the agave gingerade. Its like whoa. Staff is friendly, helpful and are fully aware of people who are scared of sushi. Well my friends fear no more because now you can create your ideal roll anyway you want it.

As someone who loves sushi, I was so thrilled that Fusian has been breaking into the fast casual scene over the past couple of years. I have been many times and have no plans of stopping! The space is nice and light on the inside, and the staff is always very friendly and willing to explain the system to new customers. You’ve got a couple different choices for rice, wrapper, and protein, and then a pretty standard battery of sushi veggies and sauces to finish off the roll. I’ve never been disappointed! Also, even if you aren’t typically a fountain drink person, go out on a limb and get one of their teas or lemonades, they are delicious and often have unique flavor combinations!

Really solid sushi. It’s fast and delicious, great local eats! I also really love the owners they do a great job with their business model and clearly play an active role in their brand. They also support other local businesses. I wish them the best in their endeavors!

Unique & enjoyable sushi experience. Super cool build your own sushi bar allows you to try some great tasting rolls & experiment on your own combinations. Staff is eager to assist in customizing & a wealth of information on the history of Sushi; try asking why the seaweed is on the inside of the roll… do you know? Miso soup & seaweed salad are delicious and there’s an amazing selection of lemonade-like drinks. Try the agave! Very impressive transformation of a gas station into a sushi station, we love it!

Fusian, Fusian. The staff were fresh-faced, enthusiastic and extremely helpful explaining the concept and offerings. It’s like Chipotle, for sushi. There are lots of choices, but they offer ready-made combos for folks who aren’t sure how to put together something edible. I decided to choose my two rolls: tuna and tofu. The tuna is marinated; good to know if you don’t like«wet» sushi. You also get to choose which veggies to add. I added tempura flakes and spicy mayo to the tuna, while the tofu got sriracha sauce(and if this is a tip: add avocado to your tofu. You’ll thank me for it). The rolls themselves are made well, for quick-serve. They put them through a machine which gives them a squeeze and cuts them into bite-sized pieces. Each roll is 10 pieces — a good deal for around $ 7.50. There are sushi-centric sides(seaweed salad, cucumber salad, etc.) and lots of drinks on offer. The question — is it good? My answer — for $ 7.50, yes. To get sushi when you’re craving it but are leaving the gym/hungover/sick — yes. To have a sit-down sushi meal? No. But, this is a sushi option that is better than supermarket sushi and close enough to me to satisfy my sushi-craving needs.

I really love the space of the new Fusian in Clintonville, but the parking lot is a bit weird, especially if you’re coming in from the South. There’s an entrance on Indian Springs Drive that makes it a bit easier for you if you’re coming from that direction. The spot here seems a bit larger than the campus and Grandview ones that I’ve visited, and I love the re-done garage doors, and the huge picture of the old Gulf Station on the back wall. As far as the food goes, I’m a big fan of the fast casual sushi concept, not only because of the quickness, but the fact that it’s a much healthier option than other places and can surprisingly fill you up. I usually stick with the tuna or salmon, but the non-seafood options have me pretty curious. The quality is high hear, but I don’t know if it’s at the same level as a nice sit down place, yet the prices are about the same, if not higher(I mean Akai Hana has California rolls for $ 4.90). I feel like they should offer some sort of combo with a drink and one of the sides to make it worth the price. I’m not a huge fan of the carrot-ginger salad(it’s a little too bland), but I do love the edamame. The unique drinks they have are also super delicious. I’d recommend the cranberry one, but I’ve had them all, and they’re all good. You’ll get a bit more sushi here per roll than other places, but you might still be a bit hungry, so I’d suggest getting a side. With that and a drink, it’ll set you back over $ 10, but you are getting some very fresh ingredients, and it does taste great! I’m not a Fusian regular, but it’s definitely good enough to have me coming back every once in awhile.

I’m a huge fan of Fusian on so many levels.(TL;DR at the bottom) First, I love their business practices. They believe in the same stuff I do: –sustainability –treating the earth well –hiring a diverse work staff and treating them with dignity and respect –having fun –making(and eating!) delicious food Next, the experience… Okay, can we officially stop calling every new fast-casual place«the Chipotle of _____?» I hate that. IMO, it’s degrading to those businesses who are out there doing a really fantastic job on their own merit. No need for comparison. /rant Anyway, the experience is really fantastic. I love how unabashedly UN-authentic they are. It’s like — «Nope, we’re American sushi, and we’ll make it exactly how you want to eat it.» When you walk in, grab a menu card, and place your order: –Pick your wrap: seaweed or soy –Pick your protein: raw fish, cooked seafood, tofu, chicken, steak, etc. –Pick your veggies(so many fresh options!) –Sauce it up or add some crunch –Grab one of the fresh juices, lemonade, tea, etc. I especially love how much care Fusian takes with food allergies and dietary restrictions. Whether you’re vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, whatever — they will change their gloves and make your roll by hand in the back with a clean mat and knife. For someone like me who can’t eat wheat(which is a main ingredient in soy sauce btw), this makes eating sushi so much more fun and less anxiety about getting sick. And how does it taste? Absolutely delicious. I have eaten at Fusian so many times, and I think it’s impossible to make something that’s not delicious. My personal roll? GF, soy wrap, white rice, raw tuna, avocado, jalapeño, carrot, and cream cheese. With gf soy sauce, obvi. Also, get yourself a pb+j roll for dessert and add cream cheese. I know it sounds terrible but it will MAKEYOURDAY. And last, let’s talk about the new Clintonville store, which used to be a service station. I love how they kept the original building and Fusian-ified it. It’s big, bright, and open with so many huge garage doors. And I swear the interior could be an art gallery. So freaking cool. TL;DR Fusian does it again in their new Clintonville location. It’s an old service station turned sushi station, and they’re slingin’ some really tasty rolls and fresh drinks. They’re also a great company that gives AF.

Roll with it… Fusian, like other locations, is fantastic. The staff is so very friendly and the food is so yummy. It’s fast-casual for sushi! The new location used to be a old fashioned gas station. It’s really neat with the huge garage doors along the walls.

Yes! Another 5 star review for Fusian’s newest location. It’s right near me in Clintonville now – I could definitely get into a real habit. Staff was wonderful – friendly, efficient & accommodating. DIY sushi was delicious as experienced at other locations. We got the pb&j roll for my nephew(soy wrap, white rice, peanut butter & grape jelly) but he was more into my side of edamame. I tasted it and although it sounds weird – it was really good. Could be an option as a dessert roll?! The new space is awesome and I really like the ode to preserving the old service station with photos of the location 50 years ago. A great addition to the Clintonville food scene – congrats, Fusian, on your Grand Opening!

Yum yum yum Yum yum yum I said this a lot while eating my meal. Fusian is a super cool place. We went to the new location in Clintonville and had awesome service! Very diverse staff. We let them know we were first time visitors and they took the time to explain the menu to us. They offer tons of fresh veggie options and use local whenever possible. I also love that they’re eco friendly. I got a spicy tuna roll and added jalapeño and tempura crunch. Delish! It’s definitely not traditional sushi but still great.
