When you advertise two items for your Black Friday sale, you should expect a handful of people will come looking for said items. Disappointingly, this store was not just out the two items, but they admitted they had no idea the items were advertised AND they informed me that not one person in the store has even SEEN either item in quite some time. And it wasn’t just this one store. The University and Westerville locations had the same story. Same. Exact. Story. I literally shake my head and wonder what kind of person the owner of this business is looking for when he hires. I suspect how much pot they are willing to share may be a leading characteristic. I jest, but … wow.

Half Price Books is great– I wish they had more locations around here. I’ve found them in a few other cities and been pleasantly surprised, and been to their clearance sales at the fairgrounds, and never been disappointed. There is always something interesting, maybe a long-lost favorite or something completely surprising. This location, like others, has a well-organized book side, and a decent movie and music section. Staff have always been helpful. This time I was looking for magazines, and had a bit of trouble but found everything I wanted. Newer ones are up front; old ones are near the subject areas, on the endcaps. I’m sure I’ll be back. In fact, when they sound out coupons, I sometimes spend an afternoon trekking from location to location.

I went in looking for three books; one brand new and two older books. They had none. They advertise as having new books, but there didn’t seem to be many. I guess this woukd be a good place to browse, but don’t go in with a plan of what you want, or you may also be disappointed. On the plus, the used, soft books are literally half the cover price. Many of the used books I looked at were not abused, so looked like a good deal… if you are a spontaneous reader.

With a place like Half Price Books in Columbus, I can’t understand why anyone would go to the big name full price book stores. I always feel comfortable when I come here(any location of HPB really) and I end up spending much more time that I plan. The shelves of «Super Buys» are such great deals, and then, of course, there is the clearance section. You can get tons of books for a buck or less. A great place for gifts!

The book buyers at this store are, without fail, rude and condescending. I’ll be trying out a different location the next time I want to go to Half Price Books.

Very cool. The hubby and I could easily kill some time here. Nice variety of books, CDs, and movies. It may take some time to find what you’re looking for but well worth it. They also buy items from you, I haven’t done this so I’m not exactly sure how it works.

It was good to see this place was so busy on an average Saturday afternoon. I’m always worried about places like half price books because I always see more books going in the door than coming out. The purpose of my visit was to sell some books. While I think I might have been low-balled a bit, it was a fair offer for something that was taking up shelf space. The selection here is quite good, they have large amounts of just about anything you could be looking for. It’s convenient to the brice rd /70 exit, with plenty of parking.

Instead of going to the library i just go to this bookstore and always leave feeling like i found some really great books. i love the clearance area and picking out so many great books for as low as a dollar! Ive also sold some of my books, when it comes to how much ive gotten for my belongings i wasnt too happy about the money i got back in return. The highest amount that I ever paid for a book that wasnt on clearance was $ 7. And i absolutely love the big selection of used movies, tv shows, etc and vinyl records. Also love the free coffee and water made available for the customers. half priced books is such a warm and relaxing place. The staff has always been friendly and eager to help anyone at the school.

LOVELOVELOVE this store!!! I find all sorts of goodies at WICKED cheap prices. They have a huge selection of comics, records, books and other assorted goodies. They have day planners VERY cheap, and a huge assortment of calendars this time of year. They also play awesome music in there… something i don’t even think about till i go into a bookstore that DOESN“T and i wonder where the music is!

I love this place. The name says it all. Books at half price. Some are new, some used. They have many locations and I stalk them all. This store is better than going to the library for studying. LOVEIT!

I am a bookworm. I own more books then clothes or shoes. I am an addict. It is my paternal grandmothers fault for teaching me how to read at age 4, then not allowing us to watch TV but read for our main entertainment. I am also a Foodie, addicted to food, but that is a different story. So I grew up being allowed to eat and read. Such is life. This is a great store. I love it. I have always gone to the one on Lane Avenue, but this store is only a few miles from where I live right now. I kept meaning to visit it so I did yesterday. I bought 3 books, a DVD and a CD, and spent less then $ 30. One of my books was a rare one, accounting for half of my spending. They have music, books on CD, DVD of favorite movies, old LPs books for all ages, nationalities and genres. You will not be disappointed. I even met a nice young man I chatted with for a bit, too bad he was half my age. Why am I attracting 20 and 30 somethings? Oh well, that I guess is another story. Ha, Ha… Check out this bookstore if you are in the Southeast side of Columbus, or Central Ohio. You will not be disappointed. Check out website for coupons.

Probably one of the my favorite places to go, ever. I love to read, and I’m cheap as hell, so this store brings those together perfectly. Usually anything you would find at a Borders or Barnes and Noble you will find here, except the price mark-up and the 5 $ lattes. If you like books, go here. Obviously most books are used, but I’ve never bought a book here that had pages missing or anything else that made it un-readable. They do have a music section as well, not the selection you would find in a new record store or anything, but if you look you can usually find something good. This place is always my first stop when going out to Ohio.
