I kind of think of Happy Go Lucky as The Catherine Store. 95% of the merchandise is to my taste and style. Perfect for adding some whimsy to your home, or finding a fun hostess gift. Tea towels, novelty dishes, throw pillows, little journals — all that stuff I go nutty over! I think the price point on most items is pretty decent, all things considered — very similar to what you might find online at or the like. My only gripe is that I wish they had a bigger selection of larger items like furniture, wall art, mirrors, lighting, etc. Not that they don’t have any, but I’ve noticed a little bit of a shift towards more knick-knacky stuff. There’s some upholstery samples in the back, so I suspect there may be a kind of design service available? My hunch is that these larger items take much longer to move in this setting… I feel like the few pieces they do carry have been hanging around for awhile. I kind of want this pencil mirror they have there, and the price keeps falling(though not quite low enough for me to snatch it up just yet). I guess right now it leans a little more towards«gift shop» than home dec. Service has been hit-or-miss, but on the whole I prefer to be left alone as I browse anyway. I’ll just be sure to be REALLYOBVIOUS about wanting to check out last time, because standing near a register and staring at the clerk doing something in another area of the store isn’t enough if she isn’t paying attention. Definitely put this place on your«wandering around Short North for cute stuff» list.

Very cool Southern Gothic oddity gift shop. The cost is upper end boutique but to serand feel the place definately beats Amazon. The staff was great and friendly. 5 stars if I had more money. Check this place out now. New merchandise all the time.

Not sure why I didn’t review this place before. We’ve bought a few pieces for our loft, and have been very happy with our purchases, as well as the service. We’ve always found that everyone is very friendly and loves to give advice and suggestions. If you like this lamp, check out these ones. Stuff like that. We walked out with a couple lamps today, and we bought a cool end table that looks like it was made out of old gears last summer. They’re seemingly always haveing good sales, and he works with a ton of vendors to get the absolute lowest price to the customer. Something you might buy directly from one of his vendor’s websites that would cost you over $ 600 might only cost $ 400 in the store. Another great reason to shop local, and in particular, Happy Go Lucky.
