I hosted a Bachelorette Party in their upstairs Bar/Private Dining Room Area and it couldn’t be any better! Ryan the Manager that I worked with was so helpful and accommodating getting us set up, from food, drinks, room set up, & décor! This is the perfect place to host any function. The Bride was so impressed! Not only was the staff super friendly, but the food was amazing. Everyone in our group was raving about the food the next day. We got a variety of their appetizers to start, our entrees ranged from their Fried Chicken, Salmon, & Gouda Burger, and we finished we an assorted of mini desserts. This was my first time here and it won’t be my last!

Great people watching locale in the heart of the Short North! It was a beautiful evening and we sat outside. The beer and wine list is pretty extensive. The hand crafted cocktails were lacking somewhat, but the one I tried was good. A really great menu with lots of options for all preferences. Plenty of gluten free, vegan options. I get the sense this is a place«to be seen» and attracts a pretty astute demographic. For a Tuesday night, it was busy and hoppin. I ordered the Knife and Fork Burger. Not disappointed. It takes a hamburger to an elevated level. My partner had the Salmon with the Ligonberry reduction. Totally delicious. We didn’t have dessert but the menu looked great too. A definite must try if the Short North is a destination for you.

Came here on a Friday night with a group of eight people. I got the Porkchop my wife got the scallops the food was excellent. I got a side of brussels sprouts and they were fantastic. Someone in the group also got the salmon and they said it was fantastic. The one con I would give, it was a little pricey. $ 26 for a Porkchop seems little high, however it was the best Porkchop I’ve ever had. Also had great service very nice people very enjoyable, will come back again.

Love the interiors and the vibe of this place! The wait staff were pleasant and friendly, the crispy Brussels sprouts were absolutely divine, as was my cocktail. The gnocchi was pillowy with great flavor, and the roasted beet salad was a bomb. The honey cardamom crème brûlée was comfortably understated, and big enough for my husband and I to share! Loved it! Ps. The dessert was free courtesy my birthday!

I’m from LA and was IMPRESSED with Hubbard. Food was on point but above all was our service. Dave was hands down phenomenal. I’ve never been to Ohio but I’d come back for another night here.

Tuesday is Ohio Fried Chicken Dinner($ 10) night at Hubbard Bar and Grill in Short North, Columbus. This is no ordinary Fried Chicken! It comes out of the kitchen piping hot, light, crispy, and perfectly seasoned and cooked. Sides include delicious light and creamy grits and fabulous crispy Brussels sprouts. The flavor profile of this plate is off the charts! Top off this delectable dinner with a house specialty«cheesecake» which is so light it is more like eating whipped cream with an essence of orange, a tang of a fresh, local creamery cheese outlined by a lingonberry purée. WOW! Dave the server was attentive and so sweet. Tom, the sous chef, made my evening when he took the time to talk to me about these house specials. Both employees are real assets to Hubbard Bar and Grill. Do yourself a favor and stop by and give it a try. I travel from SWFL and make this meal and this place a priority.

We ate here this past Monday. The service was great, but the food was disappointing. Our appetizer was delicious, the Gouda burger had no taste, and the fried chicken that the other party got was awful. They need to start seasoning the food better.

This place has a nice atmosphere however I was less than thrilled with their food. I ordered a $ 26+ scallop entrée that arrived with only 3 scallops on the plate. The dinner salad was not included… Really? 3 scallops? I won’t be returning, there are too many other great places in that area. I’m not fancy enough to pay dinner entrée prices and leave hungry.

When you walk in and see the server/supposed manager on duty eating at the bar and ignoring you at the hostess stand… take that as your first clue. No idea what happened to this place but they better thank their lucky stars for occupying prime real estate in the short north but not even that is a sure bet… don’t bother there are much better options!!!

When Columbus gets great weather in February, coupled with motorcycle conventions and beer festivals, the fun thing to do is head down to Short North to enjoy the atmosphere. Which on a Saturday night makes getting dinner in the area hard, but my family and I waited the two plus hours for a table at the Hubbard Grille to get a taste of this Columbus original. Seated in the back, we got a great view of the bar and restaurant itself — which was packed by the time we got there(around 10PM). Birthday parties and just fans from the area events seemed to fill every table, but the atmosphere did not take away from the service. Our server immediately offered us water, drinks, appetizers, etc. and was attentive throughout the night. My boyfriend and I ordered two drinks(the Castaway and Hubbard Cup) and two appetizers to share(Cornbread and Short Rib & Shrimp). The Castaway was the perfect pineapple, island getaway drink, while the Hubbard Cup reminded me of a traditional Moscow Mule with a little extra fruit juice. Both cost around $ 9 — which was the average price of a cocktail on the menu. The appetizers were bad and good. The cornbread turned out to be four little muffins served in a basket with butter. I love cornbread, but it was way overvalued at $ 8. They are also described as «jalapeño cornbread muffins» with«maple honey butter», but I was not able to distinguish any jalapenos in the muffins or maple honey with the butter. The Short Rib + Shrimp appetizer, however, was delicious! Both meats sat on a bed of grits and the unique flavor of each came together perfectly. It was definitely the highlight of the night!

My fiancé and I had the Prix fixe menu during the weekend of love. We made reservations via opentable and the restaurant was kind enough to call beforehand to confirm them. We had the brussel sprouts(after all the recommendations, how could you not?) And hub salad to start. The sprouts are PHENOMENAL! They’re one of my favorite vegetables, but this dish was perfectly grilled and the red wine reduction added a sugary caramelization that was delicious. Even my man, who hates brussel sprouts couldn’t keep his hands off! Both of us had the peppercorn crusted filet with potato purée and asparagus, medium rare, which was juicy and tender. The portions were generous and presentation pleasing. We tried the cranberry martini and agave cooler, and I got the Irish coffee with our dessert, the chocolate raspberry crème brulé. If I could buy that scotch infused whipped cream for home, I would! Our server was kind, funny, and helpful. While a more pricey meal for the two of us, the food was more than worth it and we would love to go back again!

Pan seared salmon is the best and the Brussel sprouts are a must… I really don’t understand why you can’t just give a recommendation and be done

One of my all time favorite spots in Columbus. Take my advice and order the Brussel sprouts for an appetizer, for dinner and for dessert. You won’t regret it. This place is a great spot for drinks and eats at the bar or from a table. Either way, you’ll have a good view of High Street. Gluten free friendly. Vegetarian friendly.

I ordered the gouda burger and Jon ordered the salmon and shrimp gnocchi. Very good. We ordered red wine, very balanced. We’ll be back ;) We had to ask for our receipt because we paid cash.

I had only a beer and the sweet potato fries appetizer, but everything was delicious, and it server was supremely funny and endearing. The menu looked so tasty that I was sad we weren’t staying for a full meal! Update pending I’m sure. :)

Came for a birthday dinner for two friends during the all day Sunday happy hour. I as usual ordered the smoked salmon blt, fantastic as always. We shared several orders of the Brussel sprouts. I don’t care if your a vegetable person or not– order these! You won’t regret it! And during happy hour the giant dish is only $ 3.50!!! The next winner was the duck wings, which really were duck legs. But I think that’s much better than their wings would be. The order comes with like 6 drumsticks, a great deal! Super delicious! Fantastically crispy and they pass off the Asian flavor well! The short rib, shrimp and grits was okay, but next to the other two dishes was not the star. For birthdays, there is a $ 20 cake cutting fee if you bring your own cake. But on your birthday you get a free dessert here! One of the girls got the rhubarb upside down cake, she passed it around for everyone to try and it was amazing!!! Also, the strawberry rhubarb alcoholic drink was quite good as well. The waiter was great at splitting up our checks and everything was very prompt even for a fairly large group. As always, I love this place and would recommend it to anyone!

I’m really rating 4.5 stars, but rounding up to 5 stars on my follow up. Had some really awesome food the second time around at Hubbard Grille. Good enough to tell friends about and craving a return visit! Shrimp and short ribs with grits appetizer. I think this was half price for happy hour and these morsels were a perfect bite. You just have to try it! Yum! Hub Salad… another delicious selection! the curried almonds really sets this apart from any other salad. Fried Chicken entrée. Very good! Brined, breaded and deep-fried Ohio chicken. Very tasty, almost a little too rich with gravy. The deep-fried brussel sprouts were over-the-top crispy and tasty. You need to try this! I’m shocked that this place isn’t more crowded. This is good stuff!

Ate here on a Gallery Hop Saturday night. Had reservations for 8:30. The place was busy, but tables were available. We got seated immediately right next to the front window. Perfect! Started out with drinks and caesar salads. The caesars were whole romaine hearts. Very good. Drinks good too. I got the shrimp linguine. Lots of shrimp. Lots of linguine, both pasta and vegetable. Excellent dish. I really loved it and wouldn’t hesitate to get it again. Wife got the sirloin steak. Steak was good. As expected for a sirloin. Fries were incredible. Key lime dessert was very good. I don’t give out 5 stars a lot. This place earned it. Nice job, Hubbard. Update: 8÷10÷2015 Once again a great meal here. But I feel so bad for undertipping our server. He did a great job and I just screwed up. Hope to make it up next time…

Cozy.Sexy.Good Those three words about sum up the experience. We were a little hesitant when we first walked up because this area has lots of pubs and light bites kinda options. We walked in were greeted and immediately seated. You can tell that this restaurant takes pride in the consumer experience. tables were spaced just wide enough to allow you to enjoy your table, but not so wide you didn’t know you were in company with others(although it’s probably a secret plot so you can look to see what they ordered). But really, the service was pretty good(and everyone helped everyone). Our server was good, but could have been better. At one point, I had to keep asking if he’d take away our empty glasses and points. Otherwise he was good and had an opinion(re: could make recommendations) about the menu. Food: Nice options for the meatheads, vegetarians and those who need the gluten free options in life. I had the brussel sprouts(not gluten because it’s fried in oil that other mystery foods use) and the mahi. My dining companions had the beet salad with chicken and the pork chop. All in all everyone was satisfied and had very few things they wanted changed about the menu. They also look to have an interesting drink selection and open bar area if you only want drinks and convo(and some sports — large tvs). I’d give it another try. Enjoyed myself.
