Great Sunday brunch. The service and ambiance were great, and the food was fantastic. I highly recommend the flat breads, the scallop potatoes and the salad. The deserts looked very good, but I skipped that. The coffee was also quite good. I’ll be back when I am in Columbus again!

This is a brunch review. I book a group of 6 for brunch on Sunday morning. You can reserve a spot on Open Table which was a life saver! We were seated immediately where other places with such a big group we could have waited for some time. Brunch is served in the bar area, options include typical brunch fare, fruit, omelet station, waffle station with pick your own topping and this really yummy flatbread pizza. They also had a number of desserts to pick from. I really enjoyed the variety of food they had to choose. Another fun option was the Bloody Mary bar where you could pick your mix, and garnishes for your drink. Small negative, the coffee bar was presented as more fancy than it really was. Just typical self serve coffee with some cream and sugar. I also had to wait some time for a cup. Overall brunch was fun and everyone in my group was very happy with the quick service, and good, very reasonably priced brunch.

It’s always tough to find a restaurant that my mom is going to like. After bouncing back & forth with several choices, I decided Matt the Miller was my best bet for lunch with my mom. And I’m quite happy to say we had a good time with good food. We were seated in a booth by the windows. A group next to us was a bit loud at first but they quieted down. I went for the California Chicken sandwich. It was quite tasty and was the right amount of food. My mom opted for the Chicken Salad sandwich which was HUGE! The croissant it was served on did not make eating it easy. My mom ate half and took the other half home with her. My partner had the Matt’s Burger and enjoyed it. Towards the end of the meal, our waitress disappeared for quite some time. I think she was busy assisting a large group but she was gone for an unacceptable amount of time as we sat waiting to pay the bill. Not a big deal but she should have apologized when finally did reappear. You’re not going to be find any«ground breaking» food here. It’s just basic food done well.

Came here for lunch on a work day and really enjoyed it. Biggest downside was the street parking, but there were plenty of meters available when I was there. I really like their $ 10.99 combo deal — you can choose 2 of their salad, soup, sandwich, or flatbread. I had the chicken noodle soup and the margherita flatbread — both were great. Service was quick and friendly. I would definitely come back here more often if I lived closer to Grandview.

Cool little place. Has a somewhat limited menu, but you’ll want to try everything it all looks and sounds so good. I went with the house favorite; their award winning shrimp and grits. When I checked in on Unilocal up popped a free order or pretzel bites. I had originally wanted to try them as they are a popular recommendation, but since I was dining alone I opted to not order them. I was so glad I got them for free because they are not to be missed! amazing flavor and the mustard sauce I could have drank. They out shined the really tasty shrimp and grits. Not that there was anything wrong with them, I was just spoiled by the Boar’s Head in Savannah, GA. The grits were the key to how amazing they tasted.

So I’d been meaning to get to Matt the Miller’s for a while, and I finally got to do so a few weeks ago. I’d made a reservation ahead of time, but even without that, it didn’t seem to be super busy, which I appreciated. The weather outside was kind of terrible, but parking was fairly easy. I didn’t make use of the valet service, but I saw them out there dealing with the elements, and I wanted to give them a hot chocolate or something. At any rate, I started my meal with the pretzel bites. I’d heard very good things about them, and they did not disappoint. The texture and taste were great, and the dipping sauces were very enjoyable as well. To be honest, I could’ve gone for just having a few more rounds of those. But for my meal, I had the NY Strip, and while it was cooked well, I was a bit shocked at how flavorless it was. Even the garlic butter topping seemed to be somehow lacking in flavor. It was very strange. However, the mac and cheese that I had as a side was quite good. Our server was very attentive and pleasant. I’ll likely make at least one additional trip to this restaurant in the future. But perhaps I will just try something else besides the steak.

This is my second visit to Matt the Millers, but my first to this location. From my two experiences I am genuinely impressed with this restaurant. Not only has my food always been excellent, all the items that I have see others order as well as their impression of the quality has been excellent. This most recent visit my wife and I had the pretzel bite appetizer and she ordered the avocado flat bread and I selected the Asian chicken salad. The pretzel bites and the dips provided were excellent. They will melt in your mouth. My salad was crisp and tasty and was a generous portion as well. My wife’s flatbread was also perfectly prepared. Service was also excellent. Waiter was knowledgable and made sure everything went according to plan. Great food, great atmosphere and great service equals a great experience. Food is also reasonably priced. This place will not disappoint.

I was in town for an interview and we came here for lunch. It was my first time in Columbus and this place came highly recommended. I ordered the«Shrimp and Grits» and OMG it was heaven on earth. I typically don’t like grits. Something about it doesn’t work with my palette but I decided to give it a try and the waitress talked highly of it. I was not disappointed in anyway. It was literally the only thing i could think of when I returned home(originally from NYC). Needless to say, when I got the job offer and a chance to come back to MTM I did not waste any time. I can straight here to have it again and it was just as good if not better than I remember! I would definitely recommend this place. Also shared the Tavern Chips and a taste of the Miller burger. One word… dee-lich!!!

My best friend suggested this place as a recommendation from her manager. We absolutely were not disappointed! Pros: Complementary valet Awesome service Special menus that change each season Use of locally source food Food is cooked fresh We started with the kettle chips. They were cooked fresh to order and topped with blue cheese, tomatoes, and dill with a pepper blue cheese sauce. Trust me, you want to try these chips and it’s enough to share. Each chip was crisp and still soaked up the cheese and sauce. Next we both ordered the 6oz filet with Oscar topping. The meat as tender and moist! I really didn’t need a steak knife to cut it. Each bite was the perfect bite! Lastly we had the carrot cake. By the end of the meal we were stuffed so we had them cut the slice of carrot cake in half. The half slice was as big as a normal bakery’s whole slice! You could actually see the carrot and raisins in the cake. The cake also had a fresh drizzle of caramel on it. It was truly the perfect ending to an awesome meal. Being that I am from Cleveland, OH, we are already planning our next trip here!

This was mine and my friend’s first time here and the experience was really good! Our server, Jason«Jwow» was super friendly and fun, plus he was patient with us taking a long time to figure out our order. If you go here, hopefully you get to have Jason as your server too! I had a pear cider which was awesome and chicken salad sandwich and sweet potato fries were good too. I would definitely recommend going for dinner or drinks!

I go here about every three months and love the predictably good service, good food, clean restaurant. Our server, Sami, did a great job — drinks were full, order was accurate and cooked to request, and she had a great, bubbly personality. Provided great service without hovering or feeling intrusive. My friend had steak and veggies, I did the ½ flatbread ½ salad combo. My friend inhaled his steak, I loved the flatbread. Only downside was the lettuce in the salad wasn’t as fresh as it could be, but was by no means inedible. Bonus complimentary valet parking is always a win — the attendants there are polite and quick. To sum it up — Good meal, great service, free valet… I’m a fan.

We went down to Grandview to go to another restaurant, but the wait was going to be an hour. We ended up going across to Matt the Miller, and I’m so glad we did! When we walked in, we were told it was going to be a 25 minute wait for two people, but we ended up getting a table after about 15 minutes, which was great. It was Columbus Restaurant Week, and although they did have a great prix fixe menu for this event, we ended up ordering off of the regular menu. To start, we ordered the bavarian pretzel bites, and they came out piping hot within 10 minutes. Paired with the garlic dipping sauce, they were delicious. For our entrees, I got the filet medallions topped with garlic butter with a side of scalloped potatoes, which was a suggestion from my server. The medallions were cooked to a perfect medium, and I was given a hearty portion of delicious, cheesy scalloped potatoes. My boyfriend ordered the 6oz filet topped with gorgonzola and a side of mac and cheese. His steak was also cooked perfectly, and he said the gorgonzola topping was amazing. He said the side of mac and cheese was good but was pretty basic. He said it maybe needed more cheese on it as it was very lightly sauced, but again, he was given a good-size portion! My only regret is being too full to get any of their dessert! Overall great first experience at Matt the Miller!

A great option for food in the Grandview area. Their brunch is one of my favorites in Columbus — they have an awesome spread of food for brunch buffet during the weekends, and I always leave full and happy. It’s one of my go-to places for brunch whenever I have friends visiting! I also recently came here for lunch and enjoyed their lunch options as well. They have a seasonal menu, along with a good variety of salads, burgers, flatbreads, other entrees, etc. Prices for entrees are usually in the $ 12-$ 17 range at least for lunch, so it’s definitely not cheap. On the weekends they are usually pretty full, but parking is usually plentiful in the Grandview area. Overall, service is pretty good, and it’s a nice, casual, relaxed atmosphere.

Being that it is NYE and I have to work tonight, I finally decided to peel myself away from the warm winter bed that I created. I was finally hungry after two days of feeling horrible to the stomach. I decided to take a stroll through the the neighborhood to see what was available. I walk up to Matt The Millers I say to myself, «I have not been here in awhile let’s see how this goes». Decided to sit in the bar area only to see 3 Bartenders behind the bar but rows of dirty glasses in front of me and the one bartender who looked as if he just starting his shift say, «well let me clean this glassware cause I really don’t want to do this»… And his own personal complaints were only the beginning. He was a diva which I have no problem with but people have to learn that when you are in the public eye EVERYBODYLISTENS even if they don’t look you in the eye, so why you are bitching and moaning, somebody who potentially going to tip you is hearing that… tread lightly. My original bartender was good but busy. Too busy to recommend anything but not to busy tell me that she never had the portobello mushroom burger cause didn’t like the texture, she then asked another employee who once again had no idea.(employees fail to realize the importance of knowing the menu and talking to the customer eventhough yes it is right in front of me to be able to look that server, bartender or cook in the eye and see that they were are the menu launch or server meeting at the beginning of the shift can be the difference between trying something new and going with the old standard)…yet I ordered it anyway along with the tomato basil soup which was tasty and since it came with those tasty new New England oyster crackers. The sandwich left much to be deserved, it tasted of sugar and dried herbs which in my opinion is the lazy cooks way of offering a vegetarian option and eventhough I’m not a herbivore I feel sorry for the real ones out there that order this half ass attempt to stifle you. My burger came with a balsamic salad and even that was over dressed and lacked effort. Overall I know why I don’t eat here and I may be in the minority here which I’m totally good with but those who feel my disappointment a hug would be nice.

Our two servers that tended to our party of 30 did an excellent job keeping orders, and checks, straight. The meal was a big let down, unfortunately. I got their Matt’s house salad to wet my appetite. Not sure it was worth $ 5 though — it’s quite small. The main dish I got, Fig & Prosciouto Flatbread, was on the dry side. The honey drizzle on top had caramelized by the time I got my plate, so I could only taste it on a few small portions. I love goat cheese, so the big globs were a plus. But, not enough. The flatbread was room temp; the flavors were not melding. And my dessert? $ 9.99. What?! It is Hugh, so why wouldn’t they express that it’s a ginormous square of banana bread! I ate about ¼ of it and boxed the rest. It’s not even that shabowable. Sad face! Not sure if I’ll be back. There’s to many other authentic, quality restaurants that would warrant the pricing. That meal cost me $ 30.52 before tax. It was absolutely not worth the price.

I’m writing this review from the perspective of a dad with two young kids and a wife who likes to have nice evenings out with the family. To this end, Matt The Miller’s is a great place to have dinner. There’s a nice variety of standard choices for kids that are, for the most part, better quality than other restaurants. My kids enjoyed their choices(chicken tenders and mac and cheese). The kids dessert(Lil Brady Brownie) quite rightly blew my younger son’s mind. I had a couple of bites myself and it is pretty darn awesome. If you come with kids, you might need to make sure they order the dessert. Or just fess up and get one for yourself. As far as the adults, we enjoyed our drinks(Gold Rush and Rum Punch) and the Pretzel Bites were a big hit as well. Service was great and the bill was reasonable, too. So next time we’re out for dinner four up, MTM is definitely at the top of our list.

This review is for the Thanksgiving buffet today, which was really great! My parents came to town for the holiday, and since my apartment kitchen isn’t equipped enough to cook dinner for more than myself, I sought out every restaurant that was open today. I opted to make reservations here since it was buffet style and wanted my folks to be able to choose what they preferred to eat. This was a pretty awesome buffet! A carving station with prime rib and roasted turkey(the turkey was divine, very moist and tender), horseradish mashed potatoes, stuffing, a pasta dish, sautéed green beans with red peppers(the beans were so fresh with a nice snap, I could have filled up on these alone), corn pudding(heaven), yams, gravy and au jus, flatbreads, rolls, cranberry sauce, salad greens with bacon, fresh, beautiful fruit, shrimp cocktail… so much good food! Pumpkin pie and brownies for dessert, and the raspberries that they had… so red and plump and fresh. My parents and I were very very pleased! $ 29.95 a person, not a bad deal for an all-you-can-eat holiday buffet. We will definitely be back for Thanksgiving next year! Thank you Matt the Millers and all of your staff for being open on this holiday and taking good care of us. We left happy and so stuffed we could hardly drive home! My only«complaint» is that I don’t have any leftovers at home to eat tomorrow!

The food and service was not up to par… the shrimp and grits looked promising, but after ordering it along with the suggested Beer Cheese soup, I didn’t find either notewothy. Both soup and shrimp dish, though presented well tasted ok… nothing to get excited about. Our waitress was accommodating when present but not very helpful in making selections I think others must have had a better experience, but for me… not worth a return trip… very average!

So this is the first time I’ve been to a Matt The Miller’s. The description says it’s a high value at a $$ price so we decided to check it out. You’re not kidding! Pulled up to a complimentary valet and at first I thought I was in the wrong place! So walking in this place is definitely classy. Food… Really really good. Love the wine and beer selection. Our server was attentive but not intrusive. Relaxed but good. I love kids… There’s a kids menu. But really I would leave the little ones at home and come enjoy the restaurant or bar and take a break.

I’ve dined at Matt The Miller’s on multiple occasions since my previous review, so I feel it’s time to update my previous review. The ambiance of the restaurant is nice and relaxed, the service is always friendly and timely. I like to try new craft beers when I go to a pub. Matt The Miller’s does a good job rotating their beer list so that there’s always something new for me to try. This is very good. It’s also good that they offer beer flights… but flights can be very pricey depending on what beers you pick. If your main objective is to do a flight of beer, you’re better off going to The Daily Growler as they’re just as pricey but with a much better selection. They do offer $ 1 off draft beers during happy hour… but the discount is only available in the bar area… where I never sit these days because I usually come with my kids. In terms of draft beer happy hours, The Crest Gastropub’s happy hour(½ off all beers on draft regardless of where you sit) is far superior. Most of their dishes are consistently good. Their pretzel bites appetizer continues to be one of my favorite, and their fish & chips is also my favorite in town. Their burgers are pretty solid as well. On the flipside, I was recently let down by their kids meal. We ordered my daughter their mac & cheese kids meal… and she was served what was obviously Kraft mac & cheese. Don’t get me wrong, my daughter loves Kraft mac & cheese… but I’m perfectly capable of cooking that at home.(for 99 cents!) I don’t want to go to a restaurant and pay restaurant prices to be served something like that. Even more inexplicably, my friend ordered a side of mac & cheese as his side and he got actual shells in white cheese sauce. We’ll avoid the kids meal and just share our adult dishes with my daughter in the future. One recent change is that they started accepting reservations on OpenTable… so try to get a reservation before you go. We got burned once when we showed up without reservations and ended up having to wait for several groups with reservation to be seated first. Overall a good restaurant that I’m sure we’ll continue to dine at. There are some possible areas of improvements, but none of them are deal breakers. If I could give them 3.5 stars, that’s what I would do.

I was in the mood for brunch and I had heard good things about their brunch so we ventured out to try their Sunday brunch. I made reservations for this past Sunday. We were seated promptly in the bar area near the buffet. They had a coffee bar and Bloody Mary bar. I didn’t partake of either one of them so I can’t rate them. They had a make your own omelette station, waffles, bacon, turkey hash, scrambled eggs, eggs Benedict, hash browns, scalloped potatoes, pineapple ham, salad, rolls and fresh fruit. They also had dessert of chocolate cake and chocolate mousse. There were also two types of flatbreads. I got the ham and scalloped potatoes and the two flatbreads and salad. The ham was good but the potatoes were barely lukewarm. My salad had walnuts and cheese and I think either fig or apricot with a nice vinaigrette. My hubby got the eggs Benedict and hash browns. He said they were overlooked and lacking hollandaise. They looked pretty anemic. I was pretty underwhelmed by their offerings as I thought there would of been more selections. Oh I forgot they also had pasta primavera which was blah. The mousse lacked flavor I really couldn’t detect a chocolate taste. Overall I won’t go out of my way to go here again and we weren’t impressed.

Happy hour only allowed at the bar, which has very limited seating. You get $ 1 of beers and $ 4 wines. They have a pretty great selection of beers on tap. So with the seating situation, if you arrive but find no seats to get the happy hour drink specials, you could possibly grab the drink at the bar and then get a seat in the regular seating for food. Apparently they look down on this, but its not something you can’t do… Up to you. We all ordered burgers which were ginormous and excellent tasting. I recommend the peppercorn burger since it comes with brie and bacon… Yum. Don’t recommend the salad. They weren’t anything special in my opinion. Next time I’d get the sweet potato fries. Don’t forget to check in on Unilocal!!!Free pretzel balls which were amazeballs!!! We ended up getting two orders of that :) From our visit experience, there was essentially no wait for regular seating on a friday night, but if you wanna sit at the bar, I’d come earlier.

I went for their Sunday Brunch Buffet. We had a reservation so luckily didn’t wait too long but the 10+ people waiting for tables when we left didn’t look very happy. The buffet was okay. There was your usual eggs, bacon, potatoes. There was an omelette station and waffles with some toppings. What I liked: the salad, the dessert selection, flatbread pizzas, mini donuts, real maple syrup for the waffles What I didn’t like: the eggs benedict, the cinnamon bun(wasn’t warm and was bland) Overall, it felt like a hotel brunch buffet. I probably won’t be returning because I did not receive a $ 16.00 meal. Nothing was terrible, but I have other favorite spots.

We love Matt the Miller’s! Been here quite a few times and it’s never disappointed. The pretzel bites appetizer is really amazing — the sauces that go with them are superb! The walleye is also really good. Husband loves the Miller Burger but it is seriously huge. The horseradish mashed potatoes honestly don’t taste any different to me than regular potatoes though. I love the lemon drop martini, and their craft beer selections are always really great as well. Go for Ladies night on Thursday for $ 5 apps, flatbreads and martinis.

Great during restaurant week. Unfortunately that’s not what it is every day but oh well. We tried the walleye(great) and strip steak(average). Sides were nothing spectacular. Our appetizers were awesome. The beer cheese soup tastes as good as it sounds and apparently they change it frequently. The best part of our meal was the mussels. Cooked in a jalapeño wine broth, they were amazing. Furthermore, as an appetizer for one, they definitely didn’t skimp. Two of us shared them and were stuffed just from these. Also they were served with garlic bread! Dessert was banana bread pudding. Very very light banana flavor. Mostly taste the cinnamon and Carmel sauce. The cheesecake was average for cheesecake(still good). There was a 45 minute wait. We decided to sit at the bar and it was fine with good service but I understand people like to sit down. Beer list was great. For two people, three courses each and drinks we finished at around $ 80. Considering we took steak and walleye and desert home it was worth it. would return for the muscles!

I really didn’t want to like this place. It’s a regional chain and strikes me as a little generic on the inside. But after a few visits, MtM has really won me over. And even better, my husband and both my kids love this place too. The details… Beer: great selections on tap. Liquor: Love the lemon drop and blood orange martini. They also make an amazing vodka gimlet. Happy hour: Specials are only at the bar and patio(except on Sundays) and the duration is brief. Food: I’ve never had a bad dish here. Steak, perfectly cooked… cajun chicken rigatoni, done perfectly, love the pretzel bites and they were complimentary with my Unilocal check-in, above average kids meals, great salads, and the flat breads are good as well. We will definitely be frequent visitors at the Grandview location.

For the price, I was honestly underwhelmed with the food. The free pretzel bites were a nice bonus for checking in on Unilocal, but the salmon I ordered wasn’t the greatest, and it was served with a coconut sticky rice that was an odd pairing. My boyfriend got a steak, which he said was good, but he’s had better. Also our server was less than attentive, it took the 2 of us over 2 hours to have dinner on a weeknight, when they really weren’t busy otherwise. If the prices were cheaper I would return, but I don’t think that the food or the service lives up to the price point.
