Been here several times. The ingredients are always fresh, the staff is on point with drinks. Must try their Roti bread, different and quite good!

Still on vacation in Ga. Our daughter is a vegetarian so before we left Ohio I mentioned to her we’d like to try one of her favorite vegetarian restaurants. She suggested Mongo. Good place, excellent food, very clean. You grab a tray put a black bowl on it, a small red bowl on it, and a black cup on it. Then you first put all the veggies in the black bowl that you wish(fairly big selection), then you put the meet you wish in the red bowl, again fairly good selection. Finally you can select your sauces(10 – 12 different) in the black cup. You hand your tray over to the cook and they prepare it and bring it out to your table. There were 7 of us two were our granddaughters. Both loved it! Both are picky eaters and I wasn’t sure if they’d like it, but the one granddaughter almost licked her bowl clean she thought it was that good. Wife and I both loved it. I’m more adventuresome when it comes to eating, but even though she couldn’t order sweet and sour chicken, she dug right in and got out of her comfort zone, enjoying each bite of her lunch. All in all we loved it.

This place is so much fun! I drive quite 20 minutes to get to it because I love making my own meal. Its very fast and I think its pretty healthy. I like taking guests there. Definitely highly recommend.

Vegan friendly place, they will sauté your vegetables in water… no oil… yeaah. We chose brown rice and then were allowed to use two large bowls for our vegetable choices… just inform your service personnel or cook to sauté your dish in water and not to cook in the wok if they suggest a wok. Friendly staff. Casual atmosphere, and clean bathrooms. Excellent value for the price.

Very flavorful, if you don’t like something it’s your fault cause you pick what you want to eat. Wait staff friendly and helpful. Reasonably priced too.

We went late in the evening and though there were no other diners we were seated as far away from the grill as possible. No big deal. There were three wait staff present and two guys working the grill. We asked the lady who seated us if we could just go through the grill line. She asked us to wait for our waiter. Our waiter stood talking to a couple of guys for ten whole minutes. We asked the waitresses who were in plain sight of us if we could just go through the line twice. They told us to wait for our waiter both times. So we walked out without a bellyful of their mediocre food. We won’t be back.

Waitress was nice. Meat was slightly overcooked. Service as a whole was average. It was $ 31.00 for 2 people to eat which for what we got was overpriced. I won’t be back.

I usually eat here twice a month. The servers are super friendly and the food always looks fresh on the bar. Although the bowls for the portions seems small, I never leave this place hungry. I always go for lunch and have never been late getting back to work. I cannot speak about the dinner atmosphere, but it is definitely a good spot for lunch.

good food, loved it if I could have a bigger plate :) the service on the other hand was POOOOOOOR. I had other people come in after me get their appetizers, drinks, refills before our table. AND She didn’t have a smile. It’s amazing what a great smile will do… even if the service is poor, if she smiled, would have at least made my experience a little more pleasureable.

Mongo is okay, just the variety is very small, most stir fry places offer more for meats, veggies and sauces. Would do better if it was an all you could eat style. The food still tastes good

A simple concept, Mongolian style food with a mostly southern twist, the previous reviews are correct the service is on the slower side and don’t expect a fancy meal. Its cafeteria style eating, you chose your own meat, veggies, starches and sauces for the meal and after turning in your tray the servers bring the cooked meal out to you. The atmosphere needs some improvements with the place taking a beating and the owners aren’t exactly keeping up with the place. End result I’d eat here, but do not expect fancy!

Most Mongolian BBQ restaurants I’ve been to have a relatively simple format. This place seems to make it a complicated(and ambiguous) matter. The restaurant itself is not very clean. The service was slow but friendly. The food was adequate and properly-priced. The trays were stacked-on top of each other while still wet, with residual filth still on them! There were half-eaten noodles on the seat, straw wrappers wedged between the seat, and scuff marks all over the wall. There is some serious neglect on the floor, I hate to imagine how the kitchen fares. The food was adequate, not much selection, but the sauces can be a guessing game. Fill a cup and take your chance. My meal had enough sauce but wasn’t very tasty. My wife’s meal(same volume in cup, different sauce) was almost a soup, also not very tasty. If it had cost more than $ 7.00 per plate, it wouldn’t be worth it.

Okay, this place is awesome. As an out-of-tower, my friends in Columbus assured me that Mongo’s was something I’d never really tried before, and that the food was really good and in large portions. As to what others are saying about Mongolian Barbeque… I really can’t say, because I haven’t had legitimate Mongolian Barbeque. I know, I know, it might be a bit of a travesty that I haven’t, I just haven’t had the opportunity to go and eat with someone at a local place. Anyways, it’s sort of a make-it-yourself stir fry place, where you pick your own protein, your starch, your vegetables, and sauces. Protein options include chicken, beef, pork, and tofu. Starches are the different kinds of rice and noodles they offer. An as far as the vegetable options, they vary from bamboo shoots, broccoli, onions, snap peas, carrots, mushrooms, and a few other veggies. There are a few other options I would use sparingly, like the garlic and green onion. Okay, now the sauces are awesome. You can even mix and match a few different sauces into your bowl. They include Soy Sauce, Honey Garlic, General Tsao, Mango, Kung Pao, Terayaki, and a few others. A touch of Mango sauce, with Honey Garlic is really good together. Overall, the portions are good for someone my size. One bowl is about two meals for me, which is pretty good. The price is a bit expensive, around $ 7.00, but not so bad when you think you can get two meals out of it. You can even go up for«another trip» if you end up being able to finish the entire bowl, for an extra $ 2.00 at dinnertime. The atmosphere is very conducive to a group environment, with booths that can seat around 6 – 7 people, and a relatively friendly environment.

Food is pretty good. Sauces are delicious. You have to try to remember to order the yum-yum sauce to go with your meal and give their pot stickers a try as an appetizer before you go pick out your food. Good options at the bar. Good service in the restaurant. You can go back for $ 1 and get another plate(more than all-you-can-eat) at lunch, but they charge $ 2 for dinner. I gave the crab a shot one night at dinner and it wasn’t bad, but I’ll probably stick with more traditional beef & chicken from now on. Mongo’s probably hits right around a 3.5 for me, but it’s good enough that I have to round them up to a 4 vs. down to a 3.

Mongo is mongolian barbecue fit for the southern palate. Surprisingly it works. Not for the purist but it works for the southern palate. They do special requests very well. My wife is allergic to sea food and they have a special grill for people that are allergic to sea food. I was very appreciative. I only wish they’d decorate the place. It needs help in that department. The food is good, the ambience is early american salvation army.

I’ll come back because it’s the only Mongolian barbecue restaurant here but it doesn’t hold a candle other Mongolian barbecue places. Particularly my beloved Flattop Grill. The options here are kind of limited and while some of my friends love it. I have to say that I’m ambivalent about it. The system they have set up is a little strange-while it’s make your own they ask if you want white, brown, or fried rice wouldn’t it be easier and tastier if you could just mix that in with your food? They also have appetizers but no menu, the servers tell you what they are and if you have one that seemed like she just wanted to leave work then it’s hard to hear what she’s saying. Our group came in onesies but there was four of us to begin with and she seemed fed up that there would be others joining us. The station they have set up is a little weird-it doesn’t explain too much. Can I use two bowls for all the veggies I want? What about the meats? I expect the meat bowls to be a little smaller but this place was a little ridiculous. The sauces are actually pretty good but they don’t have too wide of a variety. For an extra $ 2 it can be all you can eat but I was done after two bowls-they have this weird stipulation that your second bowl can’t be taken to go. I don’t know why, it seems like if you’re setting the price for it why can’t I as a customer take it home if I don’t finish?

First off I would like to say that Mongolian Barbecue is one of my favorite formats for a restaurant. I really like the idea that I can make my pseudo Asian dish exactly the way I want it. If I want to load up on bamboo shoots, snow peas and baby corn I can. If I want lots of peanuts I can do that too. This kind of flexibility make dining at this type of restaurant fun. Mongo isn’t the best Mongolian BBQ I have been to. That title goes to a one I went to in Grand Rapids Michigan of which I can’t remember the name right now. It is however, in my opinion, the best in Columbus, GA which isn’t exactly saying much. The lunch prices are cheaper than for dinner but it isn’t terribly expensive at either time. Also worth pointing out is that the base price is for only one trip through the line so Mongo is NOT an all you can eat buffet. Don’t worry, the cost of a second trip through at lunch is only $ 1 and just $ 2 at dinner. For an idea of quantity you get in a single trip through the line, I’m a guy who can eat a LOT of food and I rarely take a second trip. As a side note, If you are allergic to peanuts then Mongo may not be a good place for you. I mention this because I know I like to add a lot of peanuts to my order and I don’t think they use more than one grill in the back to cook the dishes. I suppose you could ask and see if they are able to cook food on separate equipment for those who suffer from peanut allergies.
