Do not come here under any circumstance. I had one of the most offensive experiences of my life here. When we walked in the bartender(who some one said was also a co-owner) said something smart ass to my party and when we gave him a funny look, one of the regulars said«he’s already drunk.» So we got beers and settled in on a table. The bar tender proceeded to come out from the bar to talk to our table. He started by punching my friend in the side and repeatedly put his hands on my buddy’s shoulders and back. My friend asked him to stop and in the way drunken idiots do, he continued to uncomfortably touch my friend(who displayed amazing patience with this buffoon) until someone from the bar came and pulled him away. A regular came to our table to apologize, telling us «he’s not usually like this.» For some reason, 10 minutes later he was back at out table and this time his intentions were clear, he actively tried to pick a fight with my friend by repeatedly touching him in a way that was weird and straight up offensive. I’m not sure how my friend refrained from punching him, he certainly deserved no less. At that point, we’d had enough and took off. Now a week later, this stands as the most offensive restaurant/bar experience of my entire life. That bartender is a major, major jerk and if he’s the owner, this establishment deserves to be shut down.

Well, maybe I spoke too soon. After another trip over there for dinner, I spied«prime rib sliders» on the chalkboard. So that’s what I ordered. And I swear they were ground beef. I spoke to the bartender(my server) and he said they were not but I have my doubts. I’ve eaten enough real sliders and enough hamburger in my life that I should be able to tell the difference.

I’ve been here quite a few times; what a welcome addition to the Bexley area(the bar is actually in Columbus). You can definitely see the connection to the Claremont and The Round Bar. The food is top notch, Unilocalers are correct the choices are limited, but VG. The ambience is great and the staff is very friendly. Nice to have a casual elbow bender bar in the neighborhood. Keep up the good work!

The food is amazing, and the prices are great. Fast service, and a good atmosphere. Probably my favorite spot on Main.

I can’t say enough about the mood this place creates; it’s a very«chill» atmosphere. Great food, for a fairly good price. It may be more than you’re willing to spend, but you definitely get what you pay for. We’ll be back.

As far as value is concerned Old 40 takes the cake, if you have tried their banana cream custard you know I mean this literally as well. They offer strong drinks, and stunningly good food for the price, winning a taste of Bexley with Prime Rib Sliders– which in my opinion is the best dish on the menu. Chip, the owner, runs a great establishment. 5 stars!

Owned by the same wonderful gentlemen of the former«Round Bar», Old 40 Tavern serves food… and if you frequented the other establishment often you’ll understand why this is a plus.

I may be biased, because I REALLY miss the Round Bar and love Chip and Eddie, but this place is great. If you’re missing Columbus, OH’s «Round Bar Pour,» it still exists! It just moved to Bexley. I am extremely finicky when it comes to wings, but Old 40 Tavern’s wings may be some of the best I’ve had. Seriously. They’re awesome. Go get them. Now. The meatloaf sandwich blew my cousin’s mind. I loved the Gyro. We got a bunch of stuff to sample the menu, and loved EVERYTHING. The fries are kick-ass. A heads up: I hear the hours are a little sporadic(hopefully this will be remedied once things settle down a bit –the place is still pretty new and I think they’re experimenting with the hours). You may want to call before heading over(614−236−0040).
