My sister brought me home a beautiful piece of red velvet cake! It was very moist. I do not always like cream cheese frosting but theirs was sweet and tangy. I will be coming back for more. I have also had their chocolate peanut butter brownie(which is very rich so it was perfect for a sweet tooth like me) AND their brownie cookie which was good but I would much rather get their cake or brownie again!

I ordered a cake and some cookies for my parent’s 50th anniversary celebration well over a month in advance. Ordering was easy and the girl on the phone was very polite and full of suggestions. I gave only a few directions and left the rest up to them. The cake tasted amazing and looked beautiful! Everyone raved about the look and the taste. The cookies were huge, fresh and delicious also. It was ready when I said I’d pick it up and I was even helped to my car by a very friendly staff member. I would recommend to all my friends/family and will definitely use again in the future!

I recently ordered a birthday cake from them. They were so gracious and communicative throughout the entire process. It was really reasonably priced and the final result was beautiful AND delicious.

I ordered a cake for my daughters birthday from out of town(we live in Michigan) and the ordering process was very easy, custom service was polite and direst. We got a double layer 8in round with very simple buttercream design and let me tell you, this cake was AMAZING. The whole party couldn’t stop saying how delicious it was!(Vanilla bean cake w/white buttercream) And it even sat in the the fridge for 24 hours because our party was on Sunday. You would’ve thought it was made an hour before the party, so good. The cake was $ 45 which I thought that was a pretty awesome deal. I wanted fresh flowers on the cake so I applied them myself the next day but the bakery did offer to do it for me, which was sweet(: Thanks again guys! I’ll definitely be back.

We stopped in to get a cookie for our daughter. Boy were we surprise. We walked out with a ton of food. Excellent cheesecakes covered in chocolate ganache and strawberries, and chocolate ganache and Reese’s peanut butter cups. My daughter had the peanut butter cookie what she gobbled up immediately. And we also had read velvet cupcakes that were to die for. A nice little place or café but make sure to get something to take home for later.

I visited a Piece of Cake for the first time with another Unilocal Elite, Ying X. After dinner, we were both craving something sweet. Since we were in the area, we stopped by. The bakery itself isn’t too big. At the time, it was closer to the end of the day around 5 pm, and there weren’t too many options from what I saw in the cases. I opted for a slice of strawberry cake, which they had to correct me on since I thought it was cheesecake. Before serving it to me, they microwaved the slice of cake, which was a little odd to me. The had an open kitchen, which is cool so you can see everything behind the scenes, but it was still a little weird for me to see my food being microwaved. The slice itself was close to $ 5, which in my opinion, it wasn’t worth it, since the frosting was ridiculously sweet. I couldn’t finish the whole thing. It was good, but it did not blow me away.

Pastries weren’t as great as I expected… although their cakes are beautiful would love to get one from here. I work at another bakery and we always recommend our customers here if we can’t accommodate their needs

I ordered a cake for my boyfriend’s birthday last week. The white cake with buttercream frosting was amazing! They decorated it nicely too. Most importantly, it tasted fabulous. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I will be back!

I sent an email inquiring about a cake and received an auto response asking me to place a phone call if the cake was needed within a week. I gave them a call and the lady over the phone pulls up my email and we chat about what I want– a chocolate cake with buttercream icing and a fondant logo. When I arrived, the logo had not been cut out of fondant like I expected, but rather painted onto a piece of fondant and placed on top of the cake. I won’t get into how they let some of the black coloring bleed into the red coloring. I let the gentleman know that this is not what I was expecting and he apologized and brought his boss to the counter. She informed me that if I wanted the logo cut out of fondant, the price would have been«Well over one hundred dollars». I informed her that the price wasn’t an issue and I should have stopped by to place an order instead of calling and emailing. I was not offered a discount and racked it up as a learning experience. I took the cake to the event and saw someone take a slice. I asked them how the cake was and his response, «It doesn’t taste like anything». I quickly cut myself a slice and he was right. The buttercream icing had no taste. The chocolate cake was fine, but to be honest, I have made better. Not worth $ 75. I hired a professional to make a cake because I didn’t have time to break out my baking gear. Next time I will be going to my local baker in German Village or doing it myself.

A friend and I just found this quaint bakery last week quite by accident and decided to go in a check it out. I’m glad we did, everything looked delicious. I decided to get a lemon cookie, chocolate cookie and a pumpkin cookie. I also got the bread pudding. My friend purchased what looked to me like a small chocolate torte. When I got home and tasted the bread pudding, I was amazed at how good it was. I then sampled a small bite of each cookie. All I can say is WOW!!! Everything was delicious. I cannot wait to go back to this little gem of a bakery and try other baked goods. I’m so glad we stumbled upon this place… it’s a keeper and I will definitely tell all my friends.

I’ve been here a few times now to pick up our annual King Cake for a Mardi Gras celebration. Everything I’ve tried from here has been really good and the customer service has always been on point. If you order something and let them know the time you want to pick it up, they are on it. Parking can be tricky since it is in the Short North, but it is worth the stop.

Hate to complain, but this was my 3rd cake from this company and I have to say I think I was over charged. The first two cakes where amazing and cost me ruffly around $ 55.

This place… this place! There’s nothing like it around — certainly not in the Short North. Laura and her talented and low-key staff have an astounding ability to create everything from cookies, tarts and muffins, to award-winning and to-die-for wedding cake creations for large parties. They take the time to bond with every customer, no matter whether their needs are great — like catering large affairs — or small, like consistently making delicious fresh soup and sandwiches for the walk-in lunch crowd. Visit, schmooze, and prepare to be astounded!

This bakery smells delicious! I’ve had a SBB gift certificate for Piece of Cake sitting around for a while, so when the time came for cupcakes at work, I decided to check them out. The person in front of me in line bought out most of the cupcakes on display, but the young lady at the counter helped me place an order to pick up later in the day. I ended up with a dozen vanilla bean/yellow cupcakes frosted in chocolate and vanilla buttercream. They looked gorgeous and were nicely boxed. However, I was a little disappointed in the cake itself; the ones that I tasted were on the dry side. The frosting was great, and not overwhelmingly sweet. I have no complaints about the service. However, for a regular price for $ 30/dozen, I was expecting to be blown away with how amazing they were, and I wasn’t. They do have a lovely gallery of custom decorated cakes, and I’m guessing that’s their strong point.

5 years ago they made our wedding cake… we ordered more cake than our guests and prob about 20 ppl had a second piece. It has stayed consistently good and as good as I remember on our wedding day… though on our wedding day I only had 2 bites! My fav is their white cake with classic buttercream and almond cream. Oh the almond cream! Yellow cake with lemon curd is also a good bet! This place is a family fav… they baked my sister’s wedding cake and the most adorable smash cake for my son’s first birthday!

I just love Piece of Cake! They are my «go-to» for nearly every birthday or event. They are always accommodating… even with my inability to plan ordering a cake with more than 24 hours notice. They really have the best red velvet cake in town(and they usually have one baked for those short notice orders I mentioned) — be sure to get the cream cheese frosting! My person favorite is their cassata cake! It’s just a perfect combination of yellow cake, custard, fresh strawberries and a whipped cream frosting with slivered almonds coating the outside!(I will say that I have come to find I love it more without the almonds… which seems weird, but I order it now without!). Last thing… every year I make sure I order a king cake for Mardi Gras! I can’t really imagine not having one during Mardi Gras and Piece of Cake has one of the best you can get in Columbus!

Still«only» 4 stars from me. Not just that it is a bit pricey, also the people working there are always a bit… off. Not unfriendly, just not really into what they are doing, not very helpful, just not the best vibe. It took me awhile to decide and in the meantime the rocky road brownie I wanted was sold right in front of my face (I guess they were in a rush and didn’t want to wait for me to think about what all I wanted) So I got the peanut butter brownie, which turns out was an awesome choice, half the price of the rocky road brownie and with a layer of super chunky peanut butter which I LOVE! Then I got the peanut butter tart, when I asked her what all is in it, she looked at me like a I crazy and said peanut butter. Ok duh… but like a mousse, what kind of crust, anything else? Come on, if you charge $ 5 for a teeny tiny pie(3 bites) then try to sell it to me. It WAS very very good as well, creamy, and peanut buttery. The crust could have been better, kinda soggy and no flavor, give me a thick oreo crust or graham cracker, YUM! Then I got the bread pudding which was also very good but again when I asked what was in it, she told me white chocolate and cranberries, so I thought what an interesting spin on the original. Trying it at home the cranberries were raisens and the white chocoate was cream cheese. Still all was very good, one of my favorites actually, if it just wasn’t for the people and the prices. Truthfully, that is enough for me to rather go to some of my other favorites where I can tell they love what they do and appreciate me being there.
