Steak N Shake

So I had to try it anyway despite what the other review were…
WELL I should have listened.
We order a hot dog (it was cold) not warm it was cold, onion rings (very greasy), fries (not cold but not hot), strawberry shake (taste like it was marked with syrup), hamburger (it was good and hot)
Service was great, waiters was nice…
But I want eat here again…
10 people working and only one of them looked over the age of 19.
I’m sorry folks but it looks more like a hang out for employees.
Burger King is better!

Never ever has there been a place with worse service. Took 30 minutes to get DRINKS! Another 20 for the food. And it wasn’t even hot. Ridiculous

Is there a way to give halfs. I would say 3.5. But my overall experience was quick and painless. I have 5 kids so you can imagine I need my food quick. Now the comparison from menu to actual food you receive is that of comparing those Burger King commercial lol. Your food never comes as it was displayed. I got the equivalent of the baconzilla. No complaints bacon was crisp and the burger was good. It satisfies my tastebuds. This is another fast food sit down food chain you shouldn’t expect anything out this world. Although checkers burgers are bigger I would have spent a lot more money in checkers. Pick your poison. Overall not bad but kinda fooled me on size of what I would be served. You’ll see what I mean when you order lol.

Terrible. Spent 40 minutes waiting for our food. Waiter chewing gum obnoxiously. Our waitress was really sweet. However, she just finished cleaning the restroom, didn’t see her wash her hands, and almost passed out our food. She came out holding a trash bag and cleaning supplies. People ordered drinks and didn’t get them until 5 minutes later. Felt like all they did was walk back and forth aimlessly going nowhere. Soup was hanging under the heat lamp for 30 minutes while I guess one cook made our order. Soup came and it was congealed, and pretty much solid. The only thing I can say is maybe they didn’t have enough staff, or lack of work experience. Spent an hour. Probably should have gone to McDonald’s. Or Wendys. Or target and microwaved my own burger.

First off Patricia was an absolute great waitress. She was very welcoming and attentive. The food isn’t all that great I saw reviews bout their steaks so I was a little afraid to even order any. I just had a taco salad with chicken (lettuce was kind of stale.) My girl had chili 3 ways (she claimed it had way too much beans then actual chili itself) & we shared a side of chili cheese fries. The «Oreo» milkshake was kind of stale. I mean you eat what you pay for. Cheap, lame food, I guess.

Never again! This place is absolutely horrible! I’ve been to numerous locations around the southeast and my experiences have always been decent. This place, however, ruins it for the chain altogether! First off, I ordered a #4 combo (comes with double patties, cheese, and bacon). I received a double cheeseburger… patties, cheese, and a bun. I asked about the side items that could be purchased in place of the fries, and the cashier was clueless. I plainly stated I don’t want fries and asked for the other options. Her response? «We have fries, different flavors.» Ummm… didn’t I just say I don’t want fries??! Then, she mentions onion rings. Okay… what other options???
She was still clueless. We get all the way back home (Phenix City), and this is when I realize the order is wrong. The side salad that I’d requested in place of the fries was completely missing, and yeah, I had a double cheeseburger. It’s hot as hell, by the way! Nonetheless, my husband and I get back in the car and take the food back. They get the burger right this time, but the patties are lukewarm; so lukewarm that the cheese won’t even melt, and I still don’t get my side item. Just a lukewarm burger and a drink. My husband’s order was fine, minus the fact that he asked for it to have everything on it. We will definitely not be coming back! I would suggest if you want a burger go to Flip Side in downtown Columbus, Red Robin, hell even McDonald’s! Anywhere but this place. If you want a milkshake, go to Sonic or somewhere. Don’t disappoint yourself and your wallet by coming here…

It’s not the best place for burgers, I would say Wendys is above this place. My food was good, I had a Bacon Cheesburger but for $ 8 something its a little overpriced. The fries are small kid sized fries and super thin. The burger patties are thin also it has some flavor but I don’t know. There are better burger places like Red Robin but these are around $ 4 but it’s ok. Not a fan of this place so we may not come back. It was a good first time visit but I don’t feel like anything here is worth coming back to. Try it our for your self but don’t be expecting much. My fav place is still Waffle House to eat some cheap good food.

This place has given me by far the worst experience of any food related service. I got cold food and a shake that had something that looked like a bug in it. I immediately returned it and was given a new shake, which id already lost the appetite for, and the new shake was half full on top of that. Disgusting horrible place filled with rude people.

My milkshake took too long. I got grumpy. My girlfriend didn’t like me being grumpy and dumped me, overall negative experience. Thanks Steak and Shake you rule

I have eaten at other Steak N’ Shakes before and they were okay, but this was by far the worst! My mother and I picked up drive-​thru and while we received our food quickly, the order was wrong. The fries were horrible! They were cold and had absolutely no flavor (i.e. salt)! Granted, I don’t like a lot of condiments on my burgers, I do like some and so, I ended up having to add my own. Very disappointing and I will not be returning to this location!

Not a fan of this chain. The burgers were paper thin and so were the fries. I guess that’s why it’s cheap. Even the shakes aren’t that good. I like a real burger not something that looks like they picked it up off the side of the road.

I need to mention this is Columbus, GA, near Bradley Park. Need to mention to be fair to other Steak & Shakes which might be better. The more I think of this experience the sicker I get!!!

I just can’t bring myself to eat here anymore. The food is typical drive through quality but it is certainly not worth a 25 minute wait in the drive through.
The problem with this location is that it is managed and staffed by children. After waiting 25 minutes I went inside to ask for my money back and there were only young kids operating the restaurant. And the food prep area was trashed!

Great food for the price… awesome shakes… but my food was cold and I sent it back… brought me yummy hot for in return!

After waiting in the drive-​thru for 10 – 15 mins I finally got my order, when I got home to eat my burger, it was really undercooked! This Steak N Shake is by far the worst one I’ve ever been to!

Hello, I went to stake and shake last night 5÷31÷2014 and I was beyond disappointed. I would like to say first my coworkers and I visit stake and shake on a regular bases and after I tell them what I seen I doubt they will ever go there again. I work at sprint on Bradley park so it is very convent for us to travel there during our lunch break. First off I order my food and was just waiting at the window for it to be made. I have worked in the kitchen before and know how sanitation should be handled. So decided too look in the window to see how they worked. First I saw an employee grab a trash can with his gloves on to empty out the old fries. No problem there I thought he would take off the old gloves and wash his hands before switching to making the food. NO he not only grabbed the fry scoop with dirty glove hands he then scooped them up to fill the orders. He over filled the fry cup and fries spilled everywhere he took the spilled fries and put them back in the fry bucket.
I am not one to write bad reviews and complain but I just had to this time. I couldn’t believe what I seen. It only makes me wonder what else these employees do. Stake and shake has lost my businesses along with my coworkers and anyone else I can tell to not go there.

Burgers were burnt and the driest I’ve ever had from Steak n Shake. Service was ok until I placed a last minute shake order and then waited another 10 mins because they cleared the screen, which they did apologize for. However while I was waiting I did shockingly notice their terrible sanitation score! Hope this improves soon!

This is hands down the worst steak & shake I’ve ever been to! The drive thru took 15 minutes and the food was gross (a soggy burnt hotdog and a shake that tastes like ice with a bit of milk in it). So gross half of it went in the trash. Don’t waste your money.

Why are you using Unilocal to look up a Steak and Shake?
This is a typical S&S… you wait forever, the staff is unable to do things like math, the food rarely presents like the menu, and the idea of flavor hasn’t reached the kitchen.
This Steak and Shake takes this to a whole new low. I guess when you order something on the menu, that is translated to «I’ll bring you whatever I want». And when it shows up incorrectly, you are the one that screwed up, not the server.
In the end, you get what you pay for. This place is dirt cheap. So if you are low on money and enjoy being treated horribly, this is your jam.

Tried this place for the first time today (the drive thru) it took about 15 mins to get in & out of there with 1 person ahead of me, I got a combo & shake, both we’re DELICIOUS! The cashier was pretty friendly and chipper, definitely coming back sometime soon.
