The worst service I have ever had! Waited 15 minutes for a beer and another 20 before I went up to pay for the beer and leave. They were a total of 8 people in the place with 3 servers so not much really going on. I heard the folks behind us complain of cold food and not seeing there waitress in some time. When I went to pay for the beer you would think the bartender would find a waiter or waitress but no she just stood there looking confused. Don’t waist your time or money here.

Food was great. Went to celebrate after work and split the chicken nachos app. Great price, great taste. Ordered a drink before the nachos and one when we got them. Would have liked to have ordered a third… But after we didn’t see our waitress for 35 min we decided to go finish celebrating elsewhere.

I’ve lived in Upper Arlington my whole life. 58 year old male. That whole shopping center has cockroaches. That’s a picture of one cockroach at dinner. Manager gave us 10 percent off.

All you can eat salad and soup, what else can I say! House salad was the best! If you are a bacon lover, this is the salad of choice! Some soups were a little bit too oversalted but still tasty!

This is one of my favorites. The servers are always pretty attentive even when they are busy. My favorite thing to get from here is fish and chips– hands down some of the best I have ever had. They also tend to have specials on this dish depending on the day of the week.

We stopped on our way back from vacation for a quick lunch. The food was decent. I had the French dipped and my husband the reuben. The food came out quickly, which was great. The downside was the waitresses. We sat for 5 minutes waiting for a drink order while the hostess and waitress talked to locals a few booths over. I think catering to locals is great, but not at the expense of other customers. If you’re not a «towny» and don’t mind a wait for drinks then it’s not bad.

This was the first time I went to this location. When we first walked in, I thought uh-oh, only a bunch of blue hairs… but they walked us to the other dining area and voila — it was brighter, thanks to some doors in the front, and there were other families with kids already there, so we felt more comfortable :) it was my husband and myself and we were looking for somewhere casual and not too pricey to go, and our 3 yo son was with us. I remembered a friend told me that on Sundays childs dine free so i thought hey, why not check it out, as we were right across the street at Northam Park. The service was so so. It was a while after we were seated that a waitress came over, but the food, once ordered, did arrive pretty quickly. My sons fish and chips were tasty although he didnt eat much. My husband liked his buffalo chicken wrap and house salad. I liked my fish tacos(blackened) a lot, and my spinach salad was good too. It was really affordable, considering our sons meal was free. We’ll definitely come back again and now know what to expect! FWIW, their beer list looked pretty awesome, a good variety of options, including several ciders — yay! Next time I want to try the Lemon Tree which is half Crispin cider and half Leinenkugel Summer Shandy :) Oh, and I want to try their carrot cake next time; a slice is only $ 2.99 and its homemade!

I’ve been to a few different OBofN Pubs and this one always seems to outshine the others. They have great nachos and the burgers are good enough to satisfy your burger cravings. I personally don’t like their fish as much as Rusty Bucket’s fish. Another item that is fabulous is their grilled chicken sandwich. We also always swap out fries for the fruit cup on any dish. The staff is always nice and the bartenders are easy to get to know.

Best menu item: chicken nachos! Burgers are pretty good. Can get fruit instead of fries if you’re trying to be healthy.

Nice little place to bring the family. They have really cool kids night and an all you can eat fish and chips. It’s not the best I’ve had, but it is always good. The value here is great, good prices for the portions. It is a casual environment with decent food. But you don’t feel too bad if your kids act up a little bit when you are here.

Not bad. The whole chain of TOBON is decent, but nothing to write home about. This has been my favorite of the ones I’ve been to. The beer list is surprisingly good, with some craft beers you wouldn’t expect. The food is decent bar food. Nothing terribly interesting or delicious, but nothing awful. The service is kind of mixed. On one trip, we had a bartender who was friendly and engaging who made sure he kept our glasses filled and made sure we knew about all the new beers that had just arrived. On another trip, a different bartender gave my wife the wrong drink, walked away and didn’t come back until we had to leave, even though she should have seen that my wife hadn’t touched her drink in 20 minutes and was trying to get her attention. All in all, not a bad place to stop in for a drink or a bite if you’re in the neighborhood, as the area doesn’t have many options immediately nearby, but probably not a place I’d seek out if I weren’t local.

Inside is like an English pub(quite realistic feel to it having been to a few real English pubs). Lots of dark wood and the bar area. It’s fairly dimly light inside. Wait staff were friendly and helpful with suggestions. I appreciate when they keep my water glass full. They are known for their fish & chips here, which is what I ordered. Loved the all you can eat portion, but really just the first order was quite enough. Others liked their quesadillas and reuben sandwiches. Portion sizes are good size. Since we were celebrating a birthday, we did order a pecan crusted ice cream ball as well as the fried snickers. I suggest passing on the snickers. I love snickers bars, but its like the wrap in a think tortilla wrap than deep fry it. Go for the ice cream ball, if you are looking for a dessert.

This is a nice looking bar/restaurant in the Tremont Center in Upper Arlington. It’s catecornered from the Upper Arlington Public Library. Parking is a little snug but there’s a lot of it. I’ve been to quite a few of these but not all of them. The food is always good, no matter where I’ve been. Today I started with the onion soup. It comes in a crock covered with cheese and contains a lot of onions. Then I had the large serving of onion rings. These were really good but not the best that i’ve had. Finally I had a spinach salad with warm bacon dressing. No tomato, but it contained onions, spinach and a few other things. It was a good meal!

This place is a fun, cozy restaurant in UA. I discovered the bar area has a big Founder’s beer following. I was there the day of a Founder’s release party and the group was a little viscous in making sure they got to try the beer that was being released. I liked the all you can eat soup and salad for $ 7. I have not tried much else.

The two stars are solely given on the basis that the fish sandwich was very good. And by very good, I mean that it meets the standards of what«Atlantic fish» should achieve. It’s hot. It’s fried. And it doesn’t taste fishy. What exactly is Atlantic fish? I don’t know. Maybe cod, maybe polluck, maybe hoki. Whatever. Now here’s the area of opportunity(problem) with The Old Bag Of Nails Pub: the service is AWKWAAAARD! We walked in on a Friday night, right before it got really busy. There were a couple tables open. Our host, a tall young man in glasses, quietly greeted us, and asked us to follow him. We walked with him to the back room, where he stopped, stared, and said«I think your table got taken by somebody else». So he brought us back to the front door where there was another table. He told us he just had to clear it, and he’d seat us. Another hostess told him that we couldn’t sit there. She said there was another lady who was still sitting there. He told her that she hadn’t been there in ten minutes and it’d be fine. She disagreed. We just stood there as they argued. He then proceeded to seet us at a third table wich was immediately behind the host stand. Whew. Our server, Erin, was no better. She brought us menus, and asked what we would like. We ordered two Yuenglings. She asked what we wanted to eat, and I told her that we needed a moment to look at the menu. She then asked my wife what she wanted to eat. Again, we need a moment. Sheesh. A few minutes later, she brought our beers: Yuengling Lights. I told her that we ordered regular Yuenglings, to which she responded, «We don’t have that. Only light and the lager». I explained to her that the lager was what people want when they say, «I’d like a Yeungling». She told us that she doesn’t know much about beer. Makes sense since it’s a pub. Our food did come out quickly, and it was good. Erin came by and asked if I wanted another beer. I told her no, so she said, «I’ll bring the check». Wow. I guess there’s no dessert for us. She quickly brought the check and I gave her my card. She brought it back a few minutes later. With no receipt to sign. I had to flag her down. She came back and said, «Did I forget to give you the check? This is the second time tonight.» Truly space-cadet service from this place. I guess if I’m really really really in the mood for an ambiguous fish sandwich, I’ll go to TOBONP. Just a different location next time.

I really wanted to LOVE this Old Bag of Nails… my husband went to a beer tasting recently and came back raving about how awesome the tap beer selection is. So, we packed up the whole troup and went for dinner on Wednesday, April 18. Our server was incredibly nice and attentive, but it was pretty strange that when we asked about the tap beers that weren’t listed on the menu, she seemed a little clueless. She claimed they were out of «most of the beers from the weekend tasting». This didn’t sit right with my husband who ordered water in the meantime. Then he went directly to the bar to investigate the great beer mystery. Woo whoo! There were a ton of beers available that weren’t listed! Well, that was one positive. The food was just okay. It took a very very long time to receive our food order, though. I’ll probably give this place another shot – it’s close to our house and I really WANT to like it, but this experience was just so so.

Went back to the Old Bag of Nails for the first time in a long time, and was glad I did! The food is pretty standard, decent sandwiches and above average fried foods including their fired fish which is pretty tasty. If the food was great, I would give it a 5. It isn’t great, but is definitely good. The thing that hooked me, at this particular location the beer is FANTASTIC! They have a great assortment of craft brews, maybe 16 taps? I think they had 5 or 6 from Founders(one of my favorites) a couple of taps from Bells, Southern Tier and more that I cant remember. I don’t know if the other Bag ‘o Nails locations have beer like this, but I am sure going to find out. Imagine if Bob’s Bar sold good food instead of having a cooler with 150 bottles from around the world. I don’t miss the cooler, I want whats on tap anyway.

I think I have Stockholm syndrome about this place. There is hardly anything redeeming about it, but I keep going back. I have been to the Bag both in Gahanna and in Worthington and am generally a fan of the food, but the UA location poorly executes what is otherwise a decent pub menu. The food is «eh.» This place is dark and depressing and the average age of the lunch crowd is 70, which makes sense as the food is bland and soft and conducive to eating without your dentures or taste buds. Service vacillates widely from helicopter waitress that calls everyone by an endearment(dear, sugar, honey buns) to a sort of benign neglect where you have to beg for your check.
