Fastest delivery I’ve ever had. The chicken is absolutely delicious. I’m hooked! Try out their mac & cheese it surely won’t be your last.

Very good chicken(even though it took 15 minutes) it was fresh, but the Texas potatoes were average at best, and the baked beans were bland and out of a can. I really wish that I could give more stars and a better review, but the truth is the only way Unilocal works…

So with Greek in the name I had the expectation that the chicken would have Mediterranean seasoning but I didn’t notice it. I had chicken, Texas potatoes, and coleslaw. Coleslaw was average. The potatoes had promise but I would have liked a little more crispiness. The chicken was extremely good quality. The peices were meatly, juicy, and had a great skin.

Really tasty chicken and their Texas Potatoes are awesome. It has a nice garlic taste and the breeding is great. Fresh dipped fried chicken is always a win.

Great garlic fried chicken – truly unique and representative of North East Ohio’s tradition of great food.

The chicken at Uncle Nick’s is the real deal. And if you haven’t tried the white pizza, you should definitely do so. I’ve also had texas potatoes and greek salad, which were both really good. If you are in the Grandview area, give this place a try.

Wasn’t really sure what«Greek» chicken was to be honest… and I am still not 100% sure, but this chicken was GOOOOOD! I read one Google review that said«Chicken so goooood. It’ll make you wanna smack yo momma! :)». I don’t know about my momma, but I would definitely punch my dad! Yuuummm!

food is not seasoned well. pros — fast delivery by cons — VERY heavily seasoned chicken with salt. if u have high blood pressure, stay away from here. green beans were heavily salt & peppered. i could barely taste them. size of chicken is very small and sides even smaller. I’m a foodie from NYC and very used to eating certain kinds of food. by far they are not the worst in columbus, ohio but they are a close 2nd when it comes to fast food. I am not even sure who taught them how to make fried chicken but it is obvious they learned from someone in prison. harsh, yeah, my stomach hurts from all that salt. thanks. I also cook and I dont mean greasy unhealthy food. but if i had a choice between them and kfc, i would go to kfc. if at all possible, i would teach them… 1… clean off the chicken before you cook it. 2… never season on the«outside» after its cooked — the meat is unable to absorb any seasoning that way 3… i have cooked for many people over the years and would love to come in and teach you all the proper way to make«southern soul food«. I think they should have stuck to gyros. and i think they paid people to post nice things about them or maybe they had a different cook when those folks went in but this is not very good food. sorry. :0(

Tried this for the first time today and I was very happy. This is great chicken! It is very fresh and crispy but not greasy at all. The seasonings are great. It has a very garlicky flavor, which I love. Basically everything is made to order so it can take about 15 minutes to get your food but who cares? It is fresh and not sitting around on a warmer getting dry. The skin is seasoned and fried but the batter is light and not thick and doughy like KFC. You are eating good fried chicken, not a bunch of flour. We tried the potato wedges and Mac & Cheese as well. The potatoes were excellent and the M&C was a solid 7 out of 10. This is not a huge place so don’t show up with 30 people and expect a seat. It is basically a carry out with three convenience tables set up but if you do decide to eat in, you will find a clean eating area and plenty of soft drink choices. The pricing seemed fine to me and they have plenty of meal options for everyone from a single person looking for a carry out lunch through catering. Give this a shot, you will love it. *** I saw one of the reviews mention that the floor is sticky. It appears to be that fake laminate tile and it is sticky, however, it is not dirty. It is a function of the product, not cleanliness. I swear to God, the things some people will complain about…

This use to be a Greek gyro place but I guess when there are 4 Greek gyro stores in a four block radius one of them becomes a Greek chicken joint. Ordered the boneless chicken wings but it was suggested by them to order the bone in and try their marinade breading. It tasted sweet but not a lot of flavor. Plenty of food. Cooked throughout. Prices are about 7 – 9 + drinks. Not bad to try something new but don’t go out of your way.

Just OK. The chicken is moist and tender, and the breading/skin is nice and crispy and not overly oily. But the only spice seems to be salt, and way too much of it. Giant Eagle’s «picnic chicken» is better, and Bob Evans’s «Broasted Chicken» is way better.

My boyfriend and I went to Uncle Nicks together and even though our feet were stuck to the floor the whole time, we had high hopes. I was very excited to see all of my favorite comfort foods offered as sides, but when the food arrived(12 minutes) we were displeased to say the least. The sides were exactly what you’d get at a public Middle School for lunch. I’m going to go out on a limb here and assume that everything was purchased from GFS. Instant mashed potatoes and canned gravy, green beans, baked beans, and frozen mac n cheese. As fried chicken lovers, we were still excited for the chicken even after trying the very sub par sides & we were very curious to know what the Greek spices were all about. Well, we found out– SALT. Lots of salt.

Something was off about the chicken. Either they need to change their frying oil or the bird was old. It had a weird funk to it. I would much rather support a local business than KFC, but they need to get their act together.

Awesome chicken. Fried right then and there for you when you order. Not sitting under some heat lamp until you walk in the door. Not overly breaded. Perfect.

I visited Uncle Nicks for lunch today and I was very pleased. I was a little hesitant at first because the place was empty and it was prime lunch time. I placed my order by the recommendation of the staff and he told me to grab a drink and he’ll drop the order. Took 10 – 12 minutes for the food to come out. I was pleased when I was greeted with simple old school feeling sealed styrofoam box lined with tin foil. It’s just chicken and sides and I appreciate the simple approach. The chicken was obviously just prepared so it was steaming hot. And it was delicious. The sides were good too. I had the Beans and Mac and cheese. Not incredible, but not the main attraction. The chicken skin was perfect. The breading was perfect. The quantity and quality of chicken pieces was perfect. I will visit this place again and again. I hope they do well. And their staff is wonderful.

I work in the area and thought I would try Uncle Nick’s for lunch today. The guy at the counter introduced my first experience with a friendly«If you want chicken, its going to take 12 minutes.» Um, okay, thanks for the warning, but can I look at the menu first? The chicken was not worth the 12 minute wait. I ordered a breast and a wing meal. The breast was the size of a thigh and the wing was the about an inch and a half long. The wing was inedible and the breast was very dry and over cooked. The breading was flavorless. I also got a glop of overcooked mac and neon orange cheese and some surprisingly good green beans. The beans account for this not being a one star review. Not going back, for sure.

I grew up in Warren Ohio eating Buena Vista chicken and was so excited to see this franchise in Columbus. If you want to order a bucket of chicken, this is the place to go. Sure, the sides suck, but you come here for the chicken(although it would be nice if the owners listened to the reviews and did something about the sides. The Texas potatoes are even terrible at the original restaurant – Ditch them and just learn to make good french fries and mac and cheese).

Bummer. We’ve been waiting for this place to open because… fried chicken. Finally ate here TONIGHT, and, nope. The chicken is great. Not Mya’s great, but better than Kroger a minute and a half down the road, great. Sometimes this girl gets a hankering for fried chicken that must be appeased. Fried chicken comes with accessories, and if those accessories don’t meet the same standards as the chicken itself, the whole package can shove off. This place can shove off. The almost gross, grocery store chicken down the road, can in a pinch satisfy the craving for half the price. I paid twice as much at Uncle Nick’s and got boxed mashed potatoes and gravy with bland«cheese product» mac n cheese, barely edible. Fried chicken is an experience. If you can’t produce the whole show, stay off the stage. If you must, buy the chicken only. Everything else can be had in the processed food section of your friendly Kroger down the street 10/$ 10.00. p. s. The guys who run it are super sweet. I hope they take a hint, and step it up.

First timers at Uncle Nick’s. There are 3 tables in the dining area. We were at one of them. Dining area was cold. Several take out orders came and went. A very friendly young man named Drew took care of us. Chicken was cooked when we ordered. It was moist and tender. Coating was crisp and seasoned okay but nothing special. We got potato wedges and slaw as sides. Wedges lacked any seasoning. Slaw was unimpressive. If they make it there; then someone needs to show them how. It lacked the flavor and bite you expect from good cole slaw. If they are buying it… they need to find another vendor. That is all we have tried. So I can’t vouch for the rest of the menu items. May go back and try other selections. Won’t go back just for the chicken.

Fried chicken, green beans(canned) and«Texas» wedge potatoes all desperately needed salt. The fried chicken was tender and juicy, but not a game changer.

Oh man, the awesome chicken just keeps on coming to Columbus, and I ain’t mad about it! The newest establishment has popped up in Grandview, and the chicken is a solid 5 stars. I had planned all week to get there for lunch today, so no snow storm was stopping me. This is good old fried chicken and what KFC wishes it could be. Everything was fried fresh for us today, and I thought the seasoning they used was pretty good. My buddies and I all got wings, and I also got a breast. We all agreed that this was some great chicken. The meat was very moist and the skin was super crispy. You have the choice of getting sauces with your wings, but I would steer clear, because they’re not needed, and they’re not that great. The BBQ sauce in particular was pretty gross, and the hot sauce is just Frank’s Red Hot. The ranch wasn’t bad. You get seven wings, two sides, and a drink for $ 10, which is a pretty great deal. For sides I had the baked beans and Texas Potatoes, which are just giant potato wedges flash fried with the chicken seasoning on them. They weren’t bad. The baked beans were better. I tried my friend’s mac n cheese, and it was pretty average. I heard the gravy was decent on the mashed potatoes, and my buddy said it’d be good to get a side of that for the wings in place of the sauces. Next time I go, I’ll probably just focus on all chicken. The restaurant itself is pretty tiny with only about 4 – 5 tables, so it’s not the best spot to dine in. Also, it’s kind of hard to park when coming in from the East on 3rd Avenue. I suggest going south on Northwest from 5th. They were still missing a bunch of stuff. The guy working the counter said they hadn’t received their full shipment yet, so I didn’t get to try the hot peppers in oil that I read were pretty tasty. They didn’t have chicken strips yet either, but it sounds like they should have everything by next weekend. A few people walked in while we waited, but I’m not sure if they’ve actually done much in the way of marketing the place yet. Overall, I hope they start getting their name out there, so they can stay in business. Is it as good as the famous HCT? Not really, but it’s some good chicken that you should go and try for yourself! I’ve had quite a bit of fried chicken around Columbus, and it definitely holds its own. Get over there and show them some love!
