This shop is made to rip off the guy who at the last second decides to do something nice. And this is the very reason I went in with a friend. I am sorry but no flower shop should almost seemingly have more faux flowers than real. The prices on their roses are insane. You can get roses that look as nice for significantly less at the grocery store. Along with all the other flowers they sell. They really also will try and jack you in price with their water tubes. Beware. The gifts on the shelves that I suppose you can buy to give with the flowers look ancient and where covered in dust. I had to re wrap my friends bouquet after walking less than half a mile with them. Enough said. Go else where save your money.

A handful of times in college you get caught in the situation where you have to buy flowers for the fairer sex. A night on the town, valentine’s day, or you are simply trying to get laid. University Flower Shop is aware of this niche in the Ohio State community, but their prices and lack of selection have kept them from getting any more of my business. I was viciously overcharged for a long stem rose that looked like it was just about to wilt away. I didn’t have many options at that point, so I tried to haggle the inept clerk down a buck or two, but was denied. I have to give them credit, they probably make a decent buck off of carless freshman in the south campus dorms. If you have transportation at your disposal… I recommend finding another flower shop.

Is it just me or is this place overpriced? Maybe I don’t buy flowers enough(sorry Lisa!) but I always walk away from here feeling a little picked over. The store itself is tiny. It basically has the bare essentials for giving flowers-as-gifts and a few other plants. It’s hard to think of this place as anything else than the place to buy a «sorry I made you do the walk of shame» bouquet or a Valentine’s day dozen. The main attraction of this place is that it’s right by all the south dorms. For all that, though, even when I lived on South Campus I’d more often than not buy my plants and flowers at Giant Eagle. Warning: this place really gets filled up on flower-heavy holidays and occasions. Enter at your own risk anytime around Valentine’s Day.
