The fish is good and always tastes fresh. You must call ahead of time. The shrimp, cat fish and shutting are all good choices for lunch or dinner specials. I come here all the time but I haven’t tried it since they have new owners.

I stopped giving them my money in 2001 because of the employees stank attitudes. The white dude that used to work there and the skinny dark-skinned lady are the nastiest, rudest service people I have ever met. My last experience was one day I walked in and the white dude approached the counter with a pad a pencil and just looked at me like «Well?». He didn’t speak one word to me. I walked out and never went back. From the looks of the reviews it doesn’t look like much has changed.

I just called in at 7:20 to place a phone order and I was told that I needed to be there within 15 minutes. I confirmed that I would be there in time, then Paul the «Manager» said «WHAT DO YOU WANT». Which was extremely rude. I started to place the order when he said «HURRY UP I’M TRYING TO GET UP OUTTA HERE». I asked him what time they close and he said he said 8 o’clock, so I had 40 minutes to get there.
I couldn’t help but ask if he was having a bad day. I thought of blessing him with a hundred dollars since we could all use some appreciation and he said «LADY ARE YOU GOING TO ORDER OR NOT!!!» When I asked to speak to the manager he said he WAS the manager. When I asked for the owner he hung up on me.
So sad that you can not get mediocre customer service at this place. It used to be my favorite place! I will never return to this place. The food is not that good anyway!

Ordered some Catfish fillet called on the phone on my way to work, getting ready to eat looking at the fish it’s not Catfish fillet it’s another kind of fish, it’s not the first time this happened to me at central fish but I thought, I would give them another try, so sorry I did that these are very dishonest people, then when I call the owner daughter. Want me to drive back, and return, well I’m at work, wtf. There is a saying for fooling twice same on me, but no more, if you eat here check your fish before you leave, cause they will switch your fish for a cheaper fish!!!

I love this place! I strongly disagree with the $. It is definitely a $$ or even $$&. I eat the sea bass or halibut which is around $ 18, which is served on a styrofoam plate and an enormous amount of fries.
Seating is unpleasant as you are either in the sun or on top of someone since it is soo crowded.
Definitively a place to try, but don’t take a hot date there. She will definitely not be impressed by the surroundings, super casual place. But very delicious fish.

I love the fish from this fish market. Ever so often I would get a craving and when I do I come here and get the catfish fillet and shrimp combo dinner. M’M’M!!! Delicious!!!
The only thing that I will say when when it comes to the service is I wish they had workers who at least acted like they enjoyed their job. When calling in to place an order, don’t be surprised if the person on the receiving end seems like they’ve had a long day. But overall the food is pretty good!

First time here, I ordered the catfish fillet lunch.
Which included French Fries & 2 Hush Puppies.
The catfish was in strips (which I didn’t like)
Too much French Fries & not enough Hush Puppies.
Taste was ok, not great.
The place was clean and the service was good.
I would try them again and maybe try something else, but I’ve had better fried fish somewhere else.

Wifey said something about shopping at some Red tag place in this shopping plaza. so i quickly looked around for a decent place to grub at.
Well it seems like i found it pretty fast… I smelled fried fish.
Just what the Doctor order, well not quite… but good enough.
It really looked good. I got the 2 piece Red Snapper and 4 piece shrimp lunch, 2 hush puppies, and some really crispy fries.

This place can probably be mistaken for a small local fish market. but when you walk inside you see that they have this small plain-looking menu with just a few lunch/dinner combos. the food is OK. the service is also OK. nothing to die for.
if you are looking for quality seafood lunch, this is probably not the place. if you are not picky about your food, then you’ll probably be satisfied.

This place has some good ol’ fish and shrimp. As a matter of fact, my family and I are having a fish din tonight and we are ordering the fish from Central Fish. The hush puppies are good (I alwasy wondered why they are called hush puppies.) Anyway, if you havent tried it then you need go make time to go and order you some fish. FYI its super busy on the weekends so mke sure you call your order in and alloe the wait to be up to an hour, buit is well worth it.

This place is sooo good :] I might also be biased bc my friend’s dad owns the place. However you cant fake good food. Its a very humble little spot, but the food serves great flavor. I like it that they drain out the oil from the food so its not super greasy, their tartar sauce is the best as well as their potato salad which the wife makes herself. I’m hooked on their hushpuppies!!! I want some right now :[

For those outside of Los Angeles County. Let me clarify what this place is. This is what is referred to as «You Buy, We Fry». This is not a Sizzler, so don’t come down to CPT looking for one.
Now, this place is so good. The fish and shrimp is so good. I am sure it has to be a sin. Parking is great and the neighborhood is hood. But still you can usually come through without any drama.
The Red Snapper & Shrimp Lunch or Dinner can tame even the largest fish craving. The fish is always deboned, breaded perfectly and fried to perfection. And for good measure grab a grape snapple and a bean pie. And it really doesn’t get much better.
They really do it better than anyone else. It is probably not the best thing health wise. But it is worth it. And if you are split and your partner wants something healthy. There is a Subway right next door.
