Autozone

I will never shop at Autozone ever again. Ever! We have gotten 2 alternators from there for two different vehicles and both of them ended up being no good. This most recent alternator was the icing on the cake. I drive a Focus and the alternators are a bear to change out but my brother in law is works at an auto dealer and is very experienced! After he spent 3.5 hours swapping it out, the next morning when I drove it, the battery light was still on. I took the car back to Autozone and the guy told me it was the battery and so I called for a ride so I could go across town and swap it out. The place I purchased the battery from tested it and said it was fine. I went back to Autozone and they said «Oh, it must be the alternator, sorry about that.» So I took my car to a mechanic and he tested the alternator and sure enough, it was a bad one. We then had to pay $ 400 to get it fixed. When we took it back to Autozone, they pretty much said oh well.
What a hassle! We will never shop there again… even for an air freshner. I talked to several mechanics that said they wouldn’t even LOOK at Autozone, let alone buy anything from there.
Steer clear if you want to save time and money or want to have any sort of a good guest service experience!
