It’s the best breakfast spot I’ve been to, Country fried stake with the gravy and classic Benedict they have is the best… Great place great people. Best orange juice in town

Ordered a breakfast sandwich and was literally sick all day — once I used the bathroom and saw the ABHORRENT way they store their products(as well as their FILTHY kitchen) I was filled with instant regret. My stomach reminded all day… NEVERAGAIN.

We arrives at noon and got seated. Waited forever for someone to. ask if we wanted a drink. No one ever came over. Waitresses kept passing us by and nothing. After 10min of just waiting we got up and left. We went to Diggers Diner instead and service was so much better. I guess it was a sign.

NO toilet paper in the bathroom. The breakfast was HORRIBLE … scrambled eggs: bland, no salt. Sausage: small, dry. Pancakes… straight out of hell: so rubbery, I couldn’t slice thru them with a fork! Coffee… not only was it weaker than a cancer patient, but they have the nerve to charge $ 1 for refills! I asked if I could plug my phone somewhere, the young, unhelpful Chinese gal didn’t reply. What a waste of $ 13 Don’t even THINK of going here!

I think I’ve reached just about every spot in Pittsburg, Concord, and Pleasant HIll that has donuts. I guess I’ll admit a good donut is a great breakfast or pre-breakfast. I stick between only three flavors: glaze, maple, and sugar. I don’t usually buy any drink with the donut. I go straight for the sugar. They charge a bit extra for the donut. There’s gonna be an extra charge if you use your debit/credit card. They hold the typical flavors for the donuts. They’ve got this really large apple fritter. You can choose between dining in and sitting in one of their booths, or just ordering to go. I’ve eaten a donut while dining in and someone I knew ordering something else like some eggs. It was pretty good service. The donut I got then was maple. Wasn’t the best I ever had. I thought it was a bit dry. The next and most recent visit I got a sugar donut. A whole lot of sugar and it was sure doughy. It didn’t rip off as usual as you’d expect. I felt like it was a bit tough. The donut didn’t taste sugar. I just tasted the dough. But the donut holes that I’ve gotten here have been top-notch. A whole lot of sweet. It crumbles as soon as you put it into your mouth. The price for half a dozen and a dozen ain’t that bad either. 3⁄5

This place is a haven for hungry tummies waiting for all the other food establishments nearby that won’t be open till 11am. Half past ten am and this place is all hustle and bustle. Don’t be the quiet and shy nerd girl like me waiting almost too patiently(and quietly) hoping someone will notice you and tell you where to sit. These beautiful ladies serving donuts and waiting on tables are busy! So: Walk in, find a spot, and sit your butt down cause you’re here on serious business. Everything on the menu I’ve tried is excellent so be ready with a hungry tummy cause you really can’t go wrong(and the food servings can be quite generous). Looking forward to coming here myself and with friends. Can’t wait to take some donuts home to the boyfriend too. Enjoy.

The good: the donuts(tasty, light and fluffy) and their prices(very low). The ok: the food. About on par with Denny’s, which isn’t a surprise given the low cost. The bad: the coffee. Too watery.

I have been searching for a place with excellent powdered donuts in California. Much to my surprise I have yet to find a place. Although Chick’s Donuts was very accommodating in giving me the donut I love and crave. They made me a powdered donut, which is really quite simple by throwing a old fashioned donut into a pile of powdered sugar. The fact being is they were very accommodating, friendly and fast. The fresh squeezed orange juice is a must! I get the orange juice and a variety of donuts to satisfy my donut cravings. This place knows how to do it right. Highly recommend this place!

When you’re tired of taquerias, noodle houses, Thai, Peruvian, sushi, Chinese food, Japanese etc and you just want a traditional American breakfast place, this is it. It’s half doughnut shop half diner. I sat at the counter and had chicken fried steak and eggs. They have tons of servers. You coffee is kept topped off. The food came fast, even though every table was full. I’ll be going back for sure.

I finally broke down and went to Chick’s Donuts. Not that it was hard. I didn’t try to avoid Chick’s. I love donuts. Chick’s has been here for a long, long time. In I went. First of all, you gotta love a donut shop that has an «old fashioned». The problem is that it reminded me of the scene in «Mad World» where the drunk pilot(Jim Backus) went to the back to «make us some Old-Fashioneds the old-fashioned way — the way dear old Dad used to.. .. What could happen to an Old-Fashioned?» I don’t know, but I hope Chick’s makes old-fashioned donuts the old-fashioned way — and without hitting the button marked«BOOZE». Second, I’m still eating on my apple fritter. Made the apple-frittery way: 6 inches wide, thick and tall, with chunks of apples inside. Tasty, filling, and only $ 1.85. Just like the ones at Happy Donuts in SF, only a little smaller. Third, for those who like to eat out for breakfast — something I’ll never understand — Chick’s Donuts is a spacious shop with lots of seating. At 8:30am on a Sunday morning, it was mostly filled. Good for groups, especially the police force, whose station is less than half a mile away. I understand that they serve food other than donuts for breakfast. Yep, Chick’s is a winner, a real winner. Health food lovers, come on over.

Usually my go to spot when I’m craving a donut. Donuts are always fresh and tasty. I usually get the ABC croissant to-go but went for dine-in breakfast yesterday and ordered a bacon omelette. Bacon was in crumbles… not my favorite style but at least it was flavorful. The sour cream on top of the omelette was watery, wished it was real sour cream. Hash browns were at least crispy! Will be back to try some other dishes. 3 star food but extra star because the service is always great!

Review for donuts only! I LOVELOVELOVE the classic donut selection made fresh daily. Chick’s Donuts and Coffee Shop is definitely one of the older food spots in the Park and Shop, but is still crackin’ on a Saturday morning! I got 2 chocolate old fashioned donuts, a bear claw, and a blueberry donut to-go. The bear claw was huge and definitely hit the spot! Each donut was perfect in my opinion. The glaze was just enough without taking away from the bread-y, cake-yness(yes, I just made up my own words) of the doughnuts. The girl behind the counter helping me was super sweet and patient while I was deciding which pastries to take home. Had I come earlier, I’m sure that there would have been a larger selection. Also note the $ 0.50 charge for using credit cards if your order is under $ 5.

Me and my search for a good donut hole and I felt like this place had your standard ones but not enough glaze. It’s like they don’t want to put any effort in the donut holes! It wasn’t great but it’s conveniently located near work… though not anymore. It did have a lot of people in there for real breakfast so perhaps their breakfast is a whole lot better than the donut holes I got. Parking wasn’t too bad as it’s one long strip mall and plenty of parking, though you might not find one that’s close by. Just walk, you’ll need it anyways after eating donuts!

This is a favorite place for me and my kids to go have breakfast… At any time of day… I only wish they were open later sometimes for the late breakfast meal :-) Number three is my favorite, and my only complaint is the country potatoes… Terri is a great host, and makes you feel welcome…

If you are afraid of Park and Shop, you will want to avoid this place along with all of the other global goodies now in that large collection of shops. But if you love the Indian grocery, the great Korean treats, and the Szechuan dinners that you can find here, you will also like the pleasant American style breakfast at Chick’s. The waffles are fluffy, and the bacon is substantial.(This ain’t no Denny’s paper-thin bacon.) And the prices are reasonable. You can watch your orange juice be fresh squeezed, and you can order a tasty Benedict. The prices are very reasonable. Of course, it has the small diner atmosphere, so don’t expect Vivaldi and curtains, just clean tables and good service.

It’s Saturday morning. Lot’s of screaming & out of control kids making the dining experiences miserable. If I behaved like any of these kids when I was young my Mom would have smacked me into the next zip code. These parents let there kids be totally obnoxious & out of control. Management & wait staff are oblivious to the noise & nonsense and the miserable dining experience for their new and returning customers. I had to ask(& wait) for coffee refill more than once. My server was very inattentive and slow. I almost felt invisible. Food ordered was mediocre when finally served. Don’t expect much here.

This place has great doughnuts and offers a great menu selection of old-school diner breakfast/lunch food. Walking in you’d swear you stepped back in time, but soak it in, sit down and order some food, I think you will be impressed. If all you want are doughnuts, then order with confidence. They are the real deal, not some puffed up pastry with tons of sugar. Parking is good, people are nice and the place is kept clean. It’s been around for decades, so be assured they have a huge following of regulars. This is definitely not a fancy place, but I like that it’s not. That means they aren’t spending wasted money on décor but keep food quality up instead. So go give it a try, I think you’ll like it.

I don’t come here for the donut’s… YEAH. I said it. «Blasphemous!» You might say. Well, while their donut selection is amazing; the real gem, is the breakfast/lunch menu. Now I began coming here many moons ago whilst recovering from a long and arduous weekend. Decided to get some breakfast before my morning class. Didn’t have many expectations going in. The crowd was predictable. An older generation of folk, mainly men. Reading their newspapers and drinking their coffee. Keeping a safe distance among one another. Each protected by their own personal space bubble. It’s a quiet atmosphere and there were only two waitresses. Ordered the bacon and spinach eggs benedict with coffee. Now the coffee is watered down, but I wasn’t surprised by this. All it really meant was that I would inevitably down a good liters worth to get my normal«kick start» amount of caffeine for the day. As the food made it’s way to my table my pupils started to dilate, not because of pharmaceutical medication(or otherwise) but because the food looked so damn good. This was a legit meal. It was awesome, a true foodie experience. Overall… Service: On point! The waitress is very kind and the food comes out pretty quickly. Food: Good… awesome… amazing… you get it. Ambiance: Basically a calm and quiet diner. Price: Reasonable. If you can afford to go to Denny’s you can afford this place. Don’t go to Denny’s. Go to this place. O_o
