Sarah’s Bare Necessities

This business is closed! I drove over an hour to bring my mom here only to find that there is no longer a store here! It’s a cross fit gym! Seriously??? Really disappointing :(

I was kicked out of the nearby YogaSol studio for not meeting the requirements of the specific class I showed up for, so I wandered over to Sarah’s Bare Necessities and was drawn inside by the big 50% off sign out front. They are closing up shop at the end of June — get in while you can!
Everything is 50% off: clothing, toys, etc. The lady at the counter was very friendly and helpful. She told me about the owner closing the store to spend more time with her family — awesome.
I spent a couple hundred dollars (after the discount) and bought a ton of stuff! My husband liked all the purchases and I’m excited to take a couple of the more unique outfits to Burning Man with me this summer.

This is my first 5-​star review (this is a Big Deal). Was in Concord on unrelated business and had some time to kill before my next appointment; decided to check Unilocal for any stores in the area selling corsets. GPS told me that Sarah’s was about 7 minutes away, so off I went.
The shop didn’t have the kind of corset I was looking for (as other reviewers have noted, some of the merchandise is more club/​costume), but I had a good conversation with Cara about them, and found her so delightful that I decided to have a bra fitting done because it had been about 9 years since my last one (at Nordstrom). All I can say is… WOW! Getting into the right-​fitting bra makes a HUGE difference in posture. It can even eliminate the appearance of back fat caused by an improperly-​sitting band (at least it did for me).
If you have a full bust, do yourself a favor and get fitted here (I had been wearing a 38DDD — because that’s pretty much the largest cup size you can easily find — but discovered that a 34HH was actually a better fit). Cara knows her stuff and is very personable. She has catalogs that she can special order from for you once you find the size and manufacturer right for your figure. I left with two beautiful new bras and a whole lot of new knowledge about bra care and breasts in general. This is definitely where I will be buying my bras from now on (at least as long as Cara is there).

On top of this place being incredibly overpriced. The customer service is absolutely horrible. I went in to buy some shoes, walked out the store and five min later realized, they were the wrong shoes. went right back. They would not give me a refund, so I asked to order the right ones. The owner was suppose to get back with me. a week later she still hadn’t called me back. I went into the store and she said she hadn’t look at her book with employee notes. I placed an order for the shoes (which she charged more for, when the first shoes I got were platform and the new ones were regular) She was suppose to call me when they came in. A month later I still hadn’t heard from her. I called her on a saturday, to figure out the statues. she tells me she would call me right back. she never calls. Sunday and Monday they are closed. I didn’t want to be bugging but I was suppose to have these shoes by the first week of Aug and still can’t even get a call back. I called again and the owner is out, I should leave a message she won’t ever reply to. Don’t buy anything from this place. You can find whatever you need cheaper and quicker. And the owner is not helpful whatsoever. I heard bad stuff about this place before and about the owner having a bad attitude but I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. Never again..

Cara The owner is so sweet. She is so easy to talk to and is so knowledgeable about everything she carries in here store. She is really hands on with your experience in her shop. It may not be the biggest shop in the area but she has more catalogs then one can look through in a day and if it doesn’t exist in the catalog it doesn’t exist. Any from the books can be ordered for your needs. I love this shop because this is the definition of customer service. If you haven’t been there yet get your butt over there soon.

Love This Place Love Kara! I was on a mission to find some good stuff for a photo shoot without having to make that journey to sf so I searched around my east bay and a friend reccomeneded this place. I’ve been to the other couple places around concord but none compare to this one which has biggest selection… Kara is very helpful especially with the bra measuring… any woman knows that shopping for a new bra can be rather stressful & unsuccessful but she hops right in there and really does know what shes taking about… the store has a huge selection (lots of larger sizes you don’t see in stores like Victoria secret) which is a good thing and a bad thing because u have to search through it… however Kara knows that store like the back of her hand so if you have an idea or can express what your personal style is she can definitely take it from there… also out of the few times I’ve been here I brought my 3 yr old with me one time and Kara did not mind at all and she even helped occupy her with toys so I could shop more… as far as price goes well for lingerie and some one of a kind lingerie pieces not bad at all… definitely paying less than Fredrick’s or VS for quality products… I am very pleased and have bought numerous items from here and will continue to be a faithful customer!

The lingerie section is hit or miss. She’s got a lot of items but yet I always have a hard time finding what I like, but lots of toys. Many other fun items. The owner is the bomb! She’s super fun and makes what can be an awkward time and fun, carefree time! Some other my favorite items are the flavored lubes! Bought a Mocha favor today, excited to get alone with my honey.

This place is great, nice selection, very helpful and friendly staff. The bra fitting I got was great, she really knew her stuff. My one complaint is that they favored large breasted unusual sizes over smaller but equally difficult to find sizes. She made me feel very comfortable and I will definitely be going back!

This is my first time going in to this kind of store because my wife and I have a weekend trip coming up to celebrate our anniversary. I wanted to buy something for myself instead of for her. Not knowing what to expect, Kara was great explaining everything to me. Ended up buying 3 male panties for myself. The first words that came out of my wife’s mouth were «OMG!!», «very cute» and «my personal chip & dale!!». Also bought a bottle of massage oil and lube. How was the trip? Let’s just say we were in our room a lot more than being outside enjoying the weather. The only time we went out was to eat at restaurants but we had «desserts» over and over again in our room. Thanks again Kara for all your great advice! Definitely coming back again!

Always a pleasure to walk in the store and find something I enjoy as well as my partner. I love the one on one costumer service I always get and need from a boutique like this. I like to feel special which is why I’ll keep going back again and again. If for any reason you don’t see what you want, there’s always the option of ordering through one of the catalogs provided. Absolutely a must have for Lingerie Boutique! Keep on Rocking girls.

Kara is fantastic! First, she is soo helpful… greets everyone and is sincerely interested in you, your needs and helping you find whatever it is you’re looking for. She asks lots of questions and is willing to even pick things out for you (which you should let her, cuz she knows her products and knows how they’ll work for you!)
Besides the products, she provided the BEST bra fitting I’ve ever received. ~15 minutes of knowledge sharing and tips on things to do differently… little mistakes that a lot of women make that are sabotaging our «girls». I was WAY off on the sizing I was buying before… oh what a difference the right bra can make.

Low quality with low prices. large selection of junk. Stockings are cheap and rough textured

One of my friends got me a gift certificate here for my bridal shower and I’ve been going back ever since.
I was very comfortable shopping around and the staff is always helpful if I need it & lets me do my own thing if I want. I have not bought any of the clothes, but they have some adorable & sexy costumes. Lately it’s been my go to place for thank you & birthday gifts. You can find something for everyone at Sarah’s. Love the Coochie shaving cream and flavored massage oils, they also have delicious smelling candles for the not so adventurous.
When I was throwing my friend’s bachelorette party I went in and got some fun stuff. I went to the place on Monument (smelled nasty!) & CC Blvd but those seemed to have lurkers.

I am so excited! My daughter has difficulty finding bras in her size. I googled a specific brand of bras, and found that they carried it here. The woman who helped us was terrific! She searched high and low for the correct size and let my daughter try on several different ones. We were able to find one that was perfect for her small back/​large cup size. Although there were all sorts of pretty lingerie, fun costumes, and sex toys, we found what we needed in a well-​fitting bra.

I’m a firm believer that every woman has a little porn star in them. Those who share that same theory need to come on ova and get fitted ASAP. If you in denial, you need to run (not walk) on over here for an awakening because I guarantee this place will show you the light.
Kara, not Sarah, contrary to the name and belief, is the one who runs this spot. Believe me when I say this woman is gifted and contains all the essentials to vamp you up. I’m talking corsets, chemises, baby dolls, teddies, garter belts, costumes (all year around) and anything else you can dare to wear. She even has specialty bra’s for those of us who are more than a handful.
Now, Madeleine Albright once said, and I quote «There is a special place in hell for women who don’t help other women.» While I don’t believe she was referring to this either (Palin, you are a hoot), I feel the need to drop the knowledge of my experience, so here it is (use it wisely). In order to reach your full potential of porn starriness, I highly suggest you get violated and let Kara do her thang. Translation: woman handle your ass. Drop the shyness and prudy-​ness at the door because once she has your measurements and gets a feel (no pun intended) of what you want, she will put you in something guaranteed to make you feel and look smokin hot. Yup, she got a masters in all body shapes and what looks best on them so do it. Then, grab one thing that catches your eye, hit the fitting room, and let her have a look-​see while telling her what you love and/​or hate about it. A quick once-​over is all she needs along with the knowledge of what you want (or not want) to accentuate and she will do the shopping for you. Sit tight in the fitting room and she will bring you an array of garments that fit your style and some you wouldn’t have even imagined would be so right (or just the amount of wrong *wink*). Also, if it’s not in the store, she has a ton of catalogs for you to look at an order from (which reminds me, I need to pick up my order).
So there it is. Knowledge is power (and believe me you will have the power). Now go get your sexiness on. I’m telling you, you will thank me later because Victoria’s and Frederick’s got nothing on her and her goods. Seriously, when you got the guys complimenting on how you look and the ladies asking where you got your gear (yes, you can implement with your outerwear because those corsets are hot with jeans), you know you doing something right.
Oh, and for the real freaky deaky, she has all the toys (in the back nicely hidden in the armories) you could possibly think of along with candles, massage oils and anything else you may need for a pleasurable evening… boom chicka wah wah!!!

I love SBN n_​_​n Kara is wonderful, helpful, knowledgeable and reasonable~! I started sneaking into this place at its original location as a minor (6 or 7 years ago)-and i’ve been coming back ever since!

What can I say I love this place. I can go to Sarah’s Bare Necessities with any of my girl friends, and we can all find something. I’m a plus size girl, and it’s so hard to go shopping with my thin friends, but not here. The atmosphere is great, very friendly. Everyone who works here is there because they like it. They have so much experience, that they start pulling things out for you to try on that you never would have thought of, and they totally work! Sarah grabbed this one peice off the rack and said «try this on» In my head I thought «your crazy, that won’t look good» but I trusted her, and it was amazing, it’s one of my favorite peices!
They are reasonably priced, especially since they only carry quality products. They take pride in making ladies. and men.fell sexy and confident in them selves, and that deserves an award.
I’m going back today. I have no doubt that I will have another great experience.

Quick Summary: Sarah’s carries swimwear to lingerie in sizes from 0 to 6X, does bra fittings, and is non-​judgmental.
They also have a huge selection of hard to find bra sizes!
I have a hard to find bra size, in a world where most stores only go up to a DDD, a J cup is almost impossible to find off-​line where a person can try on and evaluate if something is going to work, or just look pretty as it falls apart or submits to ungainly boob bounty.
I was able to find a quality strapless and an every-​day bra that actually fit and have lasted. And I’ve been able to find bras in my size that are in colors other than white, black, or beige – something I have not been able to do since I was 15 and a DDD.
The sales people are really friendly and non-​judgmental. Sarah, who owns the store, actually works the store, and does fittings. They actually take time to fit bras because not every bra style and brand is an exact match to size and shape.
Yes, this store does have some fun lingerie (body stockings, négligée, naughty halloween costumes, etc), swimwear, toys, novelties, books, etc., but they also have cute every-​day undies.
If you don’t see what you are looking for, Sarah is more than willing to make calls and special order.
She carries sizes that range from 0 to 5X, so don’t be afraid to look around. I think I may have seen a 6X.
And she does have stuff for the guys too.

It was Diwali, and my mom sent my sister and I to Bombay Trading to pick up a Bollywood DVD. We had seen Sarah’s Bare Necessities for years, but never actually ventured inside. I was always too afraid of what all the aunties and uncles would think.
Now, as a brazen woman in my 30s, I decided to check it out. My sister and I walked in, dressed in salwar kameezes. The woman at the store was really friendly and made us feel comfortable.
I didn’t think the quality of the lingerie was really all that great. It’s better for costumes unless you’re really into trashy looking stuff. They have toys and stuff in the back. The goodies are all in cabinets, so they’re not in your face if you don’t want to look.
It’s not as nice as GV, but it’s great that there is an adult store that caters to women.

I can’t believe i’m first on this one. Okay well I was taking a Human Sexuality Class and because my teacher has connections I was introduced to not only Sarah, but her Necessities too. She gave us a tour of the lotions, oils, clothing, and other items and we got to waste one class period looking at naughty things.
The owner, I’m guessing her name is Sarah, but I can’t remember. Is a very cool lady. Funny and outspoken she really gave me to impression that she enjoyed her shop and the joy it gave other people.
The shops carries underwear (Plus size also), costumes, oils and etc and of course toys. And if you flash a DVC card with sticker you get a percentage off. It’s like 10% I think.
