I attempted to come here as it was bookmarked on my end. Sad to say, it was closed :( I hope they open soon as I want to check off my foodie list.

Homie environment with an arrangement of games available for entertainment. LOTS of beer options. Came here for lunch, had the $ 10 lunch meal camel wrap-amazing. Perfect zesty seasoning, paired it with the sour diesel beer. For dessert: Apple pie cheesecake with the golden state of mind on tap. Will come here again :)

Wasn’t my favorite… A very small restaurant that can accommodate about 20 people.(I like small & cozy!) They were about half full, yet it took 50 minutes for the food to come. Appetizers & entrees came together. Menu was quite interesting however food was not. Had to go look for someone to get the check and be able to leave. Just not a pleasant experience overall. Will definitely not return.

Even though I live only 15 minutes away, I haven’t had the chance to really explore restaurants in Concord. The Pig & The Pickle has made me realize that I should start! We sat down and started checking out the menu and read«camel meat», wait what? I continue to read the menu some more. I was not expecting to see that on the menu, this place even serves frog legs. Sweet! One of my favorite things to do is try really weird sounding food. Unfortunately they were out of camel so instead of ordering a crispy camel wrap, they were able to substitute the camel meat with pulled pork. The wrap was quite tasty, but I wish I could have tried it with camel. As our side we ordered the pickled veggies, don’t skip out on that, they were so good! Tatchos: Decent bar food if you’re looking to just snack while drinking. I would recommend adding pulled pork to these because without it, they would taste too plain. Biscuits and Gravy: Kind of a bummer. The gravy needed more flavor, so I added hot sauce, and sadly my biscuits were dry. I don’t plan on ordering this again… Local beer lovers you will truly enjoy this spot. This time around I decided to go with a Catcus Red from California 101 Cider House(winner, winner!) and my husband ordered Ale Industries East Bay IPA. If you don’t drink beer they even have local wines from Concord which I thought was pretty cool. The menu changes daily, so hopefully the next time I come back they still have frog legs on the menu because I would love to try them.

I’m so glad I stopped into The Pig & The Pickle yesterday for duck fat Fridays! I live within walking distance of this place and I drive by it almost daily, but never bothered to try it until yesterday. Wifey got the tater tot nachos, which she said was fantastic! I got the quesadilla with pork and the duck fat french fries. The quesadilla was pretty decent, but the fries… The fries reminded me of english style chips, but the flavor the duck fat added seriously made these like the top 5 french fries I have ever had. They were just the right consistency, and the flavor was distinctly potato with that little something extra. I will come back just for fries and beer, seriously! I washed it all down with the highly raved Cherry Kush. Amazing flavor and consistency. Very easy to drink, one of the more unique beers I’ve had. If you are afraid of trying craft beer, give this one a shot. I enjoyed it so much I bought a growler and took some home!

I love this gem! They feature three new local artists every month on exhibit, myself included this month! They have a meet the artist nught monthly, too. They have a new menu every day and practice local sustainable business. I had the ground kangaroo & bacon sliders yes, they have exotic options –too! It was divine and now I can say I have eaten Kangaroo. The Bacon was wrapped around the patty, giving it amazing moist flavor. We also had the mountain of tachos, it was spicy! Still delicious. I had a local zinfandel wine that was refreshing. I think they are a cultural, great addition to downtown Concord. SOMETHING the area has been missing for a long time that hop grenade and the other brewery in todos santos are missing. They are pleasant and serve you well, alwayd having fresh fruit water available. A really special stand alone spot in this area. No oher place compared nearby.

They serve kangaroo! It was a sunny Tuesday afternoon and I wanted to take my parents out to a new place we had never been to. My sister recommended this place since she had heard good things about it. Upon entrance, I liked the casual atmosphere — Large picnic style tables, huge beer selection, cool wall planter made from pallets. The person who helped us was very friendly. He told us to sit anywhere and he would come and take our orders. My dad ordered the tri tip sandwich and chose the salad as a side. My mom ordered the quesadilla and I had the veggie taco which was cauliflower with carrots and a tasty dressing. The quesadilla was really good with greens on top and a chipotle aioli that gave it just a little bit of heat. I didn’t get a bite of my dad’s sandwich but he said he really liked the flavor of the tri tip. What I found really odd is that I could have subbed kangaroo in my tacos. I don’t think I could ever eat kangaroo but the person behind the counter said that it is really good. Just a more gamey taste. I will trust him on that. Overall, a solid place. Next time, I will be trying the beer!

First thing I thought when I stepped into the place was«does this place serve food?» Really clean wooden tables and no aromas from the kitchen. Anyways, I was reassured there was food and I sat down. Tatchos — 5 stars — these things are amazing. Flavors work well together and the tater tots are fried to perfection. The size is a meal and a half. We added pulled pork but I don’t think that is necessary. Pork Belly Banh Mi/Torta — 2 stars — I usually think of pork belly as tender or crispy and tender. These were tough over fried cubes in a torta roll with some shredded vegetables. Kind of dry and very little resemblance to a Banh Mi. Poutine — avoid? — really looked forward to this because of the earlier Tatchos. Fries were soft and the chunks of cheese were more like cheddar cubes than cheese curds. The gravy with meat seemed like the type with biscuits and gravy. It didn’t really taste like much and had a bit of sour that was odd in a cream sauce. 4 stars is for the Tatchos and a good feeling that the beers are good(didn’t get to try them yet). The waiter likes the tacos and I will definitely try that the next time.

20+ bottled microbrews plus 10 local crafts on tap, and an unconventional menu with stuff you won’t find at many gastropub-type places makes for a fun new place that’s worth a try. The tap beers change up periodically, on both of my visits they have had the East Bay IPA and the Golden State of Mind tea-based beer, the popular Cherry Kush will be the next one I plan to taste. The guys behind the counter will steer you in the right direction. Foodwise, if you want wings or a quesadilla they’ve got you covered, but the tater tot nachos with homemade cheese sauce is among the must-try items. So are the cheese/charcuterie plates, try the Brewers sampler that has a bit of meat, cheese, veggies and even fruit(pickled watermelon? Yes!) and is available in two sizes. Two community tables and a handful of counter seats makes for enough room for maybe 20 people so coming early on a weeknight is your best bet for a good seat.

Its not how big it is… its how you use it. Like me, The Pig & The Pickle is very small, but we both know how to work with what we have. Its friendly. Its clean. Its smart. Its reasonable. And it has lots of good craft beer… the food looks great too, but I haven’t tried it yet. I wouldn’t host a barmitzva, quincera, or your wedding reception here… but this is a solid place for one on one Bromancing over craft beer.

The Pig and The Pickle!!! Love the name! They have a fantastic selection of different beers on tap. As a first time customer I got the beer flight. 10 different ones to try including some ales, IPA and even a sour beer! The staff was very polite and accommodating. I ordered the street tacos with Kangaroo meat… Yes, kangaroo meat! I was afraid to try it but it tasted like beef. Lol! Felt like it needed a little sauce or something because it was a little dry. The meat charcuterie board was so tasty! Loved the selection they had including the house made bread. I also ended up getting a pint of the Rye’d Piper(red ale) after I tried the flight of beer. Yum! Definitely will be returning to try more!

Duuuuuuddddeeeee! This place is wicked. Awesome food, good beer selection on tap and bottled. My fav thus far is the Farmhouse Ale. Really tasty. I’ve had the salad, kangaroo tacos, cheese plate, and quesadilla with pork. All of them have been awesome. Can’t wait to try the tater-tot nachos. And the bison sliders. And some of the bottled beers. Definitely take the time to visit this gem!

Cute little spot by my house. We ordered some beer, the tator tot nachos, pork belly poutine and the chicken wings. I really enjoyed the wings and nachos. Great spot to unwind before heading home after a long day.

We’ve lived a few blocks away for a year and finally tried this place out. It was a pleasant surprise Ordered a few apps, sipped on a few beers and had a great time overall. The food I would give a 2.75 but the beer selection a 4. Seriously the list is extensive and it’s a fun, quiet atmosphere. BLT — small, a little greasy but the bacon was great. The pickled veggies as a side was a nice touch as well considering we ordered other fried things. Poutine — probably the best thing we ate. Tatchos — I had such high hopes for these! The flavors really could’ve been better and with more toppings.

Met up with a friend on a Thursday night. Both of us are out of towners so we picked the place based on Unilocal reviews. I recently discovered sour beer and was happy to find they had one! The bartender was really friendly and quick at making suggestions based on our tastes. I got the cocotart stout which was a dark sour beer with coconut flavor –delicious, highly recommend! My friend got an IPA which was just okay. The menu isn’t particularly vegetarian friendly. I got their unique tatertot nachos. Very good for tots. My friend got the pulled pork quesadilla and said it was good but didn’t finish it. Place wasn’t too crowded, looked nice and clean. Pub loud, had to strain our voices a bit to hear each other. Nearby free parking was a big plus.

Very small place with a few communal benches for seating. Order your food/beer that are on tap or by the bottle at the counter. I had a blackberry cider from a brewery called Two Rivers Cider in Sacramento. It was light and had a fruity taste like wine. For a light bite, had the ahi and arugula salad for $ 15.00. The price was high and portions were a bit small but fresh quality ingredients. They bring the dish out to you at your table and on a Sunday evening they were serving brunch, lunch or dinner menus. The brunch menu had some nice items like french toast, chiliquiles, tater tots, breakfast burrito and more. Service is friendly but prices are a bit high. Good spot for beer and some gastropub grub.

YAY! I’m a fan. Some what of a new kid on the block and I would definitely come back! Heard through the grapevine about this hideaway tucked in between a bar and yoga studio. Yes they’re well known for their beers! although I don’t drink beer, they do serve wine which made me happy! Listed on their gigantic chalkboard is a variety of beers, which I know little about but have a great selection of food! Venue is very casual, you have picnic tables spread across the room and delicious plates to be shared. Menu is subject to change weekly. What did we order? Poutine that makes you go Mmm… Porkbelly Poutine fries– smothered in veal gravy, pork sausage, and porkbelly!!! Amazed by the flavors, unique in its own way. Beets by dre: which is their Beets salad-Fresh Kale salad with beets, bacon and a light blue cheese sauce. Amazing! I wanted seconds. Mountain of Nachos: Tater tots with sour cream, black olives, pickled peppers, and salsa. I love crispy taters and served nachos style, who doesn’t??? Uncle Jesses Chicken Wings Spicy fried chicken wings tossed in bbq sauce with blue cheese sauce. Presentation was awesome, chicken wangs was good! Since I was having wine, why not a cheese board too? I was already feeling full but I love cheese and wine. Cremeux Brie, Château De Bourgogne, Manchego, and some type of goat cheese I’m not sure which kind. My party and I were very pleased! Service was on point! and very friendly I might say, Thank you again The Pig & the Pickle! I will be back.

I was pretty bummed to find out that Ale Industries in Concord relocated to Oakland, but this pub opened in a different neighborhood in Concord! We got there around 2pm on a Friday and they ran out of the Mountain of Tachos(tater tot nachos) by 2pm. For beer offerings, they only had a few actually made from Ale Industries. The other beers were from other breweries. I got the Golden State of Mind(previously called Orange Kush) because I’ve had it before at an event I attended in SF a few years ago. I was a bit bummed that their beer off the tap wasn’t chilled. We ordered the duck fat fries & the half size cheese and charcuterie board(both were good). The fries were fat cuts and seasoned pretty well. The cheese and charcuterie selections took a while to come out, but the selection was generous. I wasn’t a fan of the meat«jam» but it wasn’t terrible. We parked in the street behind the pub and other restaurants(I think the limit was 90 mins or 2 hours). It looks like they may have a small private parking lot for the restaurants nearby. Unilocal 100 Challenge — 16 of 100

Outstanding bottle selection! Interesting stuff on tap and probably the most kind, polite, and friendly staff EVAR. THECHERRYKUSHISAMAZING. GETIT. Chamomile instead of hops, you say? Such an incredible brew. The food looked so legit and I wanted to get a ton of it, but we got the wings and while they were small, the flavor was good. The blue cheese sauce that comes with it is suuuuuper good. Can’t wait to return some day!
