One star is generous. If you are a veteran, do everything in your power to avoid Wells Fargo Home Mortgage and Wells Fargo Bank. Google them. Talk to people. Find out why they screwed more vets than any other bank. When interest rates dropped, following the 2008 economic meltdown, veterans had opportunities to lower the interest rate on their VA backed loans with an IRRL(interest rate reduction loan) or a loan modification, which was particularly appropriate for vets who were having a rough time making payments. Wells Fargo, the bank that took a $$$ 25BILLION dollar loan from the US government – Secretary of the Treasury Paulson actually flew to San Francisco and gave the check to the Wells Fargo CEO in person(auto makers were made to go to Washington for their handouts, but not Wells Fargo). This occurred at the end of 2008 during the final days of the Bush administration. Yet, Wells Fargo, a corporate well-fare bum, bar none, went to extraordinary lengths to prevent vets from taking advantage of the interest rate reductions. Many vets lost their homes. I guess thousands, perhaps tens of thousands. Foreclosures were good business for Wells Fargo, especially after home prices started to rise. I know from personal experience. I tried my damndest to get an honest reduction. Wells Fargo personnel gave me the runaround, even though I had paid regularly on my home loan for 14 years. I wrote letters to their CEO, John Stumpf. More runarounds. Asked my congressman, Mike Thompson, to help. I probably could have received more help from North Korean, if I had asked that rogue nation, than I got from Thompson. By the Grace of God, I was able to stall WF for three years with a bankruptcy. Just as I was pulling out of the BR, the home prices had risen high enough for me to sell, pay off the mortgage, and move to a rental home. Go anywhere, before you go to Wells Fargo!

there should be a zero star. JERRYGONZALES, you could have done a much better job at structuring my loan. Also, could have been more professional by responding to your customers in a timely manner. Also, you say the loan was declined yet I never got an adverse action notice, not even a counter offer. I just think the entire experience was a nightmare, thanks to you

When they tell you all is fine then explain that all is not fine after they decline your loan due to something they said was fine, they get a one star review!
