Oh Brian’s, I want to love you. Truly I do. But it is the details and sometimes basic service which is lacking. Brian’s Book Store and Coffee Bar is now more coffee and very few books. Placing the merchandise to the back of the establishment is a no-no. You want your customers to see your books and gifts on their way to the coffee/sandwich bar. Nevertheless, it is the only place in Fayette County to get a latte which doesn’t have«Speedway» on the cup. If you get a decent barista, then their coffee beverages are excellent. However often it is a game of chance. The desserts and some sandwiches are homemade. Others are straight from the shelves of Sam’s Club. There is no grill so the hot food is dispensed from a crock pot or toaster oven. As one poster stated you need to eat there before the Court House employees invade; so very true! I literally waited 15 minutes for the Coffee of the Day as one city employee had a list of 7 – 8 orders. The server(rarely more than one) does not know how to prioritize. A simple cup of coffee takes a back seat to the heat and bake orders. Brian’s is noisy. Again, the eating area is to the front and right by the entrance. Therefore all the coming and going is done by your table where you’re trying to enjoy conversation and food. It is horrible? Absolutely not. But it lacks. It could be fantastic with some tweaking of the interior and servers.

this is a gem in Connersville and some of the best home made soup you’ll ever taste. located downtown right across from the court house the clientele of course is mainly attorneys and county workers so get there early before they eat all the soup!(which happens to me constantly) also the desserts are homemade and heavenly
