Could not let 2016 come in without getting this off my chest! Dr. Barclay performed two procedures in one surgery late May of last year. Went to see him for a primary problem and a secondary issue. Figured if I was getting cut, may as well have both fixed. Seven months later and the main problem was somewhat corrected, the secondary problem, no improvement, there is so much swelling and scar tissue that remains, my foot is actually WORSE than before!!!
Yes, I signed an informed consent, and swelling and how a scar behaves is not guaranteed. However, I had had another surgery in that same area years ago and due to this, may have made my condition worse. HOWEVER, this Did NOT Come Up in my consultation. I probably would’ve reconsidered or may not have had both procedures done. Also, when I followed up with Dr. Barclay, he told me that he doesn’t perform surgery so I can fit certain shoes! Very insulting, considering if it were not for work, I’d be barefoot, in flip flops or tennis shoes my whole life!!! I’m not that Chick that lives for shoes! Comfort… YES, Shoes… HECK NO!!! Considering I’m on my feet for work several hours, I am now more Miserable and can only wear old lady shoes if I am to survive a shift. Even my shoes prior to surgery were very modest, low heel, rounded toe, Mary Janes, ample padding. I can’t even wear those anymore.
Just wanted to inform. I’m sure others have had great experiences with Dr. Barclay. I just strongly recommend a second opinion! If it were not for an insurance issue, I would have and will probably will regret not doing so maybe forever!!! It was not worth it!!! Guess I can give 1 star for getting outta work for 6 weeks and helping me meet my outta pocket deductible for the year…

I am so glad I found Dr. Barclay! I am having some foot issues (let’s not get into that here!) and needed someone to diagnose and give me a plan. His office is really nice, his staff was pleasant to deal with and he is awesome. He really listened to me and didn’t make me feel like he had to rush off to see his next patient like most doctors do. He knew exactly what the issue was and wanted to treat conservatively before jumping to surgery. I feel like so many docs just want to operate and take your money. Not this guy, he really seemed to care about what was truly best for me and my situation. I am definitely coming back to his practice. If you have any kind of foot issues, you’ve found the right place!
