While new to the restaurant business, Milt Collins is no newcomer to barbecue. He and his wife Amy have partnered with the White Plains Golf Course to offer area residents a top notch dining experience right in the White Plains subdivision. Milt has taken his award winning barbecue dishes(made famous with numerous competitions and awards) and now has them available on the daily menu at the Algood BBQ. As we live close by, we’ve had the opportunity to visit on several occasions now and this place is truly what good barbecue is all about. From the pulled pork, to the brisket to the ribs(both wet and dry), it is all so very good. Without a doubt the best BBQ in Cookeville and beyond. He also offers a few beers on tap and several more in the can/bottle. As they are new to the restaurant business, one can imagine a few snags and bumps along the way, but with a little patience and a hearty appetite, you won’t be disappointed. It starts of as a great and and only get better! I am looking forward to a possible menu expansion with perhaps steaks and chops and a daily or weekly special. Outdoor seating is available with incredible views of the fairway and mountains beyond. If you haven’t been here, give this place a try. You won’t be disappointed.
