Food wasn’t that great and I even ordered their special. Poor poor poor customer service. Didn’t even want to wait on me. Kept asking me to be a to-go. Unbelievable!

This place is right next to my house so I come here often, after a million failed attempts I continue going. And seriously not anymore. I usually cook the entrée at home and get roti to go at least three times a week and it gets worse and worse every day. Today took 40 minutes with an empty restaurant to get three rotis. And they were half uncooked. So disappointed in the lack of Desi good quality restaurant here

We arrived a couple minutes before 3 pm and they refused to serve the lunch menu(11−3pm). I ordered the beef kabobs and they look like roles of meatloaf. The meat(suspicion in texture) tasted horrible. The salad on the side was not fresh. I could noticeably see flies buzzing around along with another really small insect with wings. The table clothes had noticeable food Stains that appeared old(probably saving on laundry costs. Two words of advice for the place, «stay away»…

Very bad quality of food. Even the rice is not cooked properly. Sorry this is definitely not authentic Indian cuisine.

We got a groupon for this. Atmosphere and service OK. It is clean. We ordered kebabs. In one word: horrible. Extremely spicy, basically unable to taste the meat. We had chicken, beef and meatloaf. All horrible. Especially the meatloaf. My son had the meatloaf kebab, basically some undefinable loaf, combined with ample pepper. Inedible.

Food is relatively good. Need to train employees better with the menu and decrease wait time. Other then that I recommend.

Their chicken spicy sandwich taste like buying a batter from public and just making it with no special taste to it. Their cheese burger has no taste at all. Tasted like it was a frozen patty bought from market and just cook it n serve it. Their wings were good. Their fast food products are completely horrible n wouldn’t recommend going here. This Resturant needs to improve a lot and also their to pricey for the type of food your getting.

Went there with my Wife and some friends last night. Absolutely awesome place! Service was impeccable, place was clean, and the food was great. We also liked how affordable it was. Wife and I ordered 2 meat samosas, barbecue platter, and the famous Spicy Chicken Sandwich. We also had another appetizer that I forgot what it was, but our friends recommended it. It’s like a puffy cracker with chickpeas inside and I think a cumin-flavoring. It’s served slightly cold. Anyways it was awesome. The biryani with the barbecue platter was delicious and the tandoori chicken was excellent as well. We also had a spicy indo-asian soup that was quite delicious. Had some Pakola to wash it all done, first time trying that tasty beverage. Overall good times, good fun, lovely place. Will bring back the rest of the family soon! Will upload a pic of the sandwich soon and update what exactly that appetizer was. Overall delicious, great staff, clean environment, and most importantly it’s like amazing comfort food. Will have to try the pizza as well.

This is my 5th time here in the span of three years and at the moment I’m sure it will be my last. The other reviewers here are spot on with respect to the service. There is definitely some issue with the the waiters. Maybe the tips arent passed on, im not sure. They are apathetic, don’t look at you when ordering, and generally unattentive. Almost angry-like really, which might point to an underlying issue. But for this price range and informal café setting, I’ll set aside the service in my judgment, if the food is great. This particular occasion I was there for lunch on a Saturday. We were the only ones there. Sat ourselves down . Dirty knife(something sticky), dirty table table cloth and we were accompanied by a friendly Fly for the duration of our meal. The samosas weren’t great. Obviously reheated and only mildly warm. The Lamb Korma(their special of the day) and the Chicken Tikka Massala were drenched in oil. I could see it pooled up in the sauce. I emphasized very spicy twice and it was somewhere between not spicy and mild. They have always been off the mark in this regard. Only once has it been spicy. Perhaps they should move to a numeric scale. All in all, just mediocre for approximately $ 14 a dish for average portions The Nann bread was great. I’ll give them that. I had an extra order of bread. Something about the deserted ambiance and the aforementioned«lapses» forced us to give much thought into our dessert selection. We asked ourselves: ‘what dessert wouldn’t go bad if prepared a few days ago?’. That wrote off all the milk based options. We ordered two Gulab Jamun. They were ok, nothing special. Frankly I left worried about what kind of neglect might be occurring in the kitchen. With that thought I vowed this would be my last time.

A very nice limited seating restaurant this is a hole in the wall you must try once. Now the food is like playing the lottery sometimes it is unbelievably good and at other instances completely bad. The reason behind this is most probably a changing of cooks on a constant basis. The last time I was there we ordered Chinese and it was a complete disaster but the trip before we ordered subs and they were delicious. I have been going here for years and my feeling is that ownership has changed hands multiple times as the concept of different styles of food in the same menu is not an easy idea for success. The only constant is there veggie samosas. Always up for them as an appetizer as they have never disappointed. Besides all the ups and downs this place has been able to survive whilst a lot of there competition has bit the dust.

I did not know this place existed until I saw it on Groupon. I will start with the positives: We had the Mutton Karahi, butter chicken and chicken tikka masala. Everything was tasty! They give nice generous portions and and everything is reasonably priced. The negatives: When we sat at our table it was filthy. The waitress used a rag to wipe off the dirty seats and then the table. That was my first impression! The service was extremely slow and the girls working there seemed to be hating their lives. Not much to offer this review but the food was good. We used a groupon but she still charged our credit card for the full amount, had to wait longer for her to correct the mistake. In the future I will just order take out from there.

Better naan will take it to the next level. Flavor is average which in no way is a negative thing. Will definitely go back, but the food is competing with an upper echelon of desi food on my scale and does not quite reach 4 stars.

The food here is tastes very authentic as far as someone like me is concerned. I’ve had many friends of Indian and Pakistani decent so I’ve had their family members cook for me and this place tastes just as good as any dish I’ve had. I highly recommend the Spicy Chicken Sandwich. It’s one of my favorite sandwiches in all of South Florida. It’s just the right amount of spicy and that middle eastern taste. I have it every time I come in and I never get tired of it. What seems to be the main complaint about this place is the amount of time it takes for the food to come out. It does in fact take longer than usual but understand everything is made fresh. So don’t go there if you’re on a time crunch. Our solution was to call in ahead 15 minutes and have it ready to dine in when we arrived. That plan worked perfectly, right when we sat down we told them we placed an order and the food came right out. My reason for 4 stars is the service quality. I’ve noticed I have to wait a while for the waiter to come to the table for anything and they don’t ever come to ask if anything is needed. Getting a drink refill takes forever which is really inconvenient when the food is that spicy. Maybe it’s a cultural thing, maybe it’s not. Just be wary that once you get your food you’re pretty much on your own. Overall I highly recommend this place, I will continue to be a regular there for quite some time.

My third experience with this place was not the best. The food continues to please my palate. I decided to try their cheeseburger and fries(spicy flavored meat according to the waitress but not really that spicy — still good though). I devoured the whole thing after waiting ½ an hour for our order. The dining-in area was not even full but it appears they had a lot of take-out orders and their computers were down. Customers were crowding near the register with confused looks on their faces. Nonetheless, one star removed for their slow service. I understand things happen but if I was kept informed regarding the status of my order it would’ve made all the difference.

Excellent food, super slow service. Ordered a chicken sub and burger and it took 30 minutes. I suggest you call in your order and give yourself at least 20 minutes before arriving.

I recommend against eating in. The food is decent and can sometimes even be good. Many items are hit or miss. The service, however, is what really brings the experience down. Wait staff is VERYSLOW&INATTENTIVE and will not come to check on you after you have been served. If your cup is empty, you’ll practically have to go back to the counter yourself to get it refilled. They bring out food as soon as it’s ready instead of altogether. So either you can be impolite and start eating your order while your friends wait for theirs, or you can be polite and wait for everyone to be served and then eat cold food. It was a good 20 minutes between when my order was served and when my friend’s was served. Also, our French fries came out cold from the kitchen. I don’t know how else to express it other than to say they just don’t have a clue. I hope they will fix the service issues because this place otherwise has good potential. Until then, you’re better off getting takeout. Items to get: — Wings — Roast beef sub — Aman style chicken sub Items to avoid: — French fries(cold, hard, stale) — Chicken pakora(mostly dough with a tiny piece of chicken) — Ellie’s special chicken sub(bland, lacks seasoning)

Food was delicious! The price was very reasonable for the amount and quality of food we received. Had the ginger chicken and it was excellent(a bit spicy if you’re not used to Indian food). Will definitely come back! I would however recommend they keep the tables a bit cleaner.

It’s tough finding good desi style restaurants which serve variety of entrees. If they do serve many types of entrees, most of the time it’s hit or miss. Fear not: Ellie’s Desi restaurant literally has a food option for everyone. I have ate their food numerous times but it was all take out which my dear husband brought home for me. Recently, I ate there at the restaurant. Seating options is something to be desired since all the bigger tables, they are waiting for future customers, and seating for two is right near the check out counter. I would recommend take out since the food is pretty good. Things to try: their chat patti chaat and samosas as appetizers. They have a few soup options but last time we were so stuffed so didn’t try it. In subs their buffalo chicken sub is mouthwatering. And they have desi style Chinese and it’s good. Now I won’t miss Golden dynasty in Orlando as much. Try the beef fried rice it was amazing. Manchurian chicken was decent just needed the gravy to be a bit thicker. They have great weekend brunch options with halwa pure cholay etc. I haven’t tried their Peruvian specials but they do have a Peruvian chef as well. Their menu has a ton of choices as well as specials near the check out area. So, if you have picky friends, they will choose something for sure~
