If you look up flamenco in the dictionary you would find Clarita Filgueiras there as an example. I actually look forward to Monday’s now because of how much my love for flamenco has grown. Growing up, whenever I’d go to see a flamenco show I’d get the urge to join in, now slowly but surely I’ll be able to thanks to Clarita. I take a private class with my cousin and enjoy it to the fullest. Clarita teaches REAL flamenco, none of that silliness that’s out there. For those critics that think flamenco is just hitting the floor real hard and making random movements with your hands, take one class with Clarita and you’ll experience what flamenco really is, an art, a complicated and difficult but beautiful art when done and taught correctly.

You would be hard put to find a better flamenco teacher in the southeastern United States. Clarita not only knows her stuff, she is really good at breaking things down, a talent in its own right. She is also not one of those teacher-divas who thinks they ought to be worshiped on bended knee. Very refreshing.

Excellent teacher! She is a true flamenco artist, and you will learn real flamenco at this academy! Best flamenco in Miami hands down!

For over a month I’ve been Flamenco-ing my way around town… practicing steps in the shower, stomping rhythmically to work from the parking lot and repeating counts in my head that are gonna legitimately make me flamenco famous when I perform for my friends and fam. I owe all this to my dance instructor Clarita Filgueiras, professional flamenco dancer. She teaches all levels, all shapes, all ages. Offers group, private and semi-private lessons in the gables area. She’s passionate and she’s the real deal… this isn’t pop flamenco so if you’re looking for modern dance or a hybrid form of flamenco… she’s not for you! I’m learning sevillanas and rumba and it ain’t no joke. This is as real as it gets and in the end, I should be nothing less than a dancer at the rate I’m going!!! Olé!
