The outrageously expensive restaurant did not satisfactorily honor a coupon purchased through a Restaurant directory website, stating the terms were incorrect on the website and that only certain entrees would be part of the program. Specifically, the waitress said no pasta dishes were included… but it’s an italian restaurant!!! The ambiance was dated, and the overall experience very poor. My meal was substituted without my consent, with the waitress’ poor english limiting the explanation(simply«Is beter dis way» [sic]). The other waitress(who spoke english) apologized for refusing my $ 25 coupon saying I should return when I am hungry for something other than pasta. Talk about adding insult to injury! No need to worry, I won’t be back!

I won’t go back because overpriced for what they serve. The ambiance is nice… And I agree with a previous reviewer that the staff were over– attentive… We were checked on by the chef, the bus boy, a hostess and another waitress several times. Vegetarians and vegans beware — Almost no vegetarian options… however they were willing to adjust one of the meals by preparing it sans meat… We stayed in the hotel, but given the low hotel rates, I didn’t expect such a high-end(high priced) restaurant to be in it…

Very decent, if overpriced by a good 30%, mix of Italian food and some favorites. The calamari were excellent, excellent. Tender, well breaded, melted in your mouth. We tried the white asparagus and i found them tough and fibrous. The scallops were good, tasty, spicy but smallish. But good! I had the crabcake and, for $ 14 I would have expected two. There was only one, middle sized, but excellent. The rest of the food on the table, OK. The salads were just salads, nothing special. The service was excellent, very attentive, very personable and warm. I’d say, probably not return a lot to it, but might go another day.

I rarely write a review right when I get back from somewhere but I have to tell the world how amazing this place is. The best Italian food since I’ve been in Miami, I lucked out in finding it. Frantically walking around the Gables right when most places were closing for lunch, a friendly bystander heard our hungry panic and told us the way. He said they were great and would take care of us. He was right! They welcomed us and were friendly and attentive throughout our entire meal. The chef/owner came by several times to talk, help us order(offering suggestions not on the lunch menu), and ensure we were enjoying our meal. He even came by with some amazing bruschetta on the house since it was my graduation lunch. While waiting for our appetizers they brought a nice assortment of fresh bread. Then the crab cakes(which are not fried) were great! Some of the delicious food we ordered included tortellini, seared ahi tuna, linguini with clams, and a panini sandwich. We also had 2 different chocolate desserts(one hot– one cold, my favorite) and an apple dessert with vanilla ice cream on top. I can’t forget to mention how good the mojitos were either– excellent. If ever you find yourself in a self-indulgent mood find the hotel St. Michel in Coral Gables and come in here for a bite to eat. I know I will.
