Amazing appetizers, my favorite «the tacos». The meal was also top notch is presentation and taste. Loved it all. Atmosphere is sophisticated yet very welcoming. Service is excellent. Will be back real soon. Great for a date night! My compliments to the Chef.

Most amazing experience! Just walking into the restaurant and been greeted by a very well educated hostess made all of us feel welcome. We had no reservation and place was very busy, the hostess accommodated us. Not the typical situation were you don’t have a reservation and you are almost asked to leave. Food, service amazing! Highly recommend

A new star in Coral Gables. Food, venue and ambiance make this restaurant fabulous. Fried hog snapper is excellent, Cazuela de mariscos to die! Tuna tartare excellent taste and nicely presented. Great value for the atmosphere and quality of the food!

This is a very elegant seafood restaurant in Miami. Excellent food preparation. The service was superior. Can not wait to go back again.

We had the sea food parrillada. Really fresh and tasty, a great dish to share. We had a great time with great and vibrant food. Nice place, for sure we’ll be back.

Beautiful place with excellent food. Did not give it 5 stars because my husbands shrimp came with tails on and the service was a little slow but otherwise wonderful. My hogfish was great, half fried half grilled. They accommodated changing the regular Caesar for a kale Caesar. The grilled vegetables were excellent. The fish ceviche was great. Finally the bien me save dessert was exquisite, like a tres leche with coconut.

MesaMar never disappoints! First off, their customer service is top notch. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and the prices are more than fair.
To start, you absolutely must try the coconut tuna roll. It is better than almost any other sushi roll at a sushi restaurant that you’d find. The tuna is bright red and incredibly fresh. The whole thing is just so tasty! As for the calamari, also excellent and very well done!
The Filet of Fish in Homemade Rum Cream Sauce is one of the best items on the menu. Perfectly decadent but nutritious all in one. You can choose from a variety of side dishes to go with it. Furthermore, the Enchilado’ de Camarónes was also very excellent. They definitely pack a flavor punch.
You cannot leave without trying their desserts, which unfortunately I don’t remember the name of it but the one that’s like a tres leche with coconut is next level good. The tiramisu was also excellent.
Can’t wait to host our party here in a few weeks. I know it won’t disappoint. Their party menus are wonderful.

Great addition to the borderline mediocre restaurant chain like selection the Gables offers. This place is not a chain restaurant and it offers serious flavors and selections which make us keep wanting back more. The servers are all very attentive. From the complimentary bread to their desserts, they do not skip a beat. Get a reservation or if not be prepared to wait. Worth the time.

Beautifully decorated place. FAN-​TAS-​TIC food and preparation.
Prices are adequate, considering location.
Wait staff: Obviously amateurs trying very hard to do the right job… but still very pleasant amateurs. Time could easily fix that.
The only thing that brought the good feeling and pleasant atmosphere DOWN (for me and my guests), was the Happy Birthday ‘celebration’. TOTALLY OUT OF PLACE with the LOUD/​DISTURBING music, the HORRIBLE awkward looking hats and the waiters’ singing.
I would perfectly Understand if the House wants to do something special for birthdays…
JUST NOT THAT!
It destroys the GREAT/​ELEGANTLY CONTROLLED MOOD created by your décor and food.
Other than that, I highly recommend it and would give it 5 stars. Beautifully done. My hats off to the chef and the decorators/​architects/​designers.

You Have to try the filet with Pear gorgonzola raviolis! And hoy Fish in chunks omg!!! Poner is súper sweat! Waiters are nice especially Heidi! Beautiful decoration!!!

Good food. My linguine with shrimp was really good. Service was a mess. Ordered one appetizer for my wife and two entrees. They brought her appetizer with my entrée. Waiters look poorly trained. Hope they improve

This place is amazing. The food, the service, the atmosphere, the music! I had the tuna tartare and the Chilean sea bass and it melted in my mouth like butter. Our waitress was a sweetheart. My family and I had a great time.

Try this great seafood restaurant in CG. We spent most of our time on the appetizer side of the menu only because there were so many to try and each was better than the last.
Must try the lobster tacos and the Lagostinos. The latter are freshwater monsters imported from Nigeria. Don’t let fear of the unknown let you miss these. They are heaven on a plate. Imagine a grilled lobster that is sweeter and more tender than the best Maine you’ve ever had!
Also don’t miss the sweet miso marinated black cod entrée. To die for flaky white meat with literally no salty cod flavor.
This chef knows what she’s doing and this place will only get better.

Wonderful find! Beautiful setting and great tasting beautiful good. The tuna and lobster tacos are amazing. The calamari was lightly breaded and cooked to perfection. Everything is very fresh. The lobster cream is thick but tastes delicate and the fried rice is terrific. Great value for the atmosphere and quality of food. Great date night too.

The service was excellent and the restaurant was very intimate. Had it been more crowded I may not have enjoyed myself as much because we went on a slow night and the acoustics in the building still made it terribly noisy. That aside, every person from the bartender to the chef were extremely present. Stick to seafood when ordering and you won’t be disappointed. Appetizers like the tuna tacos and ceviche were highlights of the meal. Our meal didn’t arrive exactly as the menu described but was still very good. Our rice was slightly undercooked but there was so much food that we didn’t miss it. The whole snapper seemed to be the thing to order but everything at the table was very fresh. The passion fruit mousse is an excellent dessert, should you even have room for it. I’d recommend trying it before popularity grows and it becomes too difficult to get a table.

Lunch with Fifi— what a wonderful addition to the Fifi empire. Lunch was fabulous. 4 of us sampling appetizers, eating fish, calamari (grilled of course), eating lobster ravioli. Fried rice, rice and beans; all wonderful. All the best Fifi.

We were totally blown away by the Excellent Service. The young lady that attended our table # 27 was right on target with her recommendations the Whole Hog Snapper and Lobster Tempura. I could go on about the Excellent Service and Food. But I would recommend that you experience it for yourself.
You will not be disappointed. We’re planning to go again and this time with the whole family.

I like to try all the new places in town. Some with better experiences than others. That being said Mesa Mar does not measure up to many in town.
Firstly there was a horrible odor that lingered throughout the night. As if they used a dirty mop to clean the floors.
Then the waiter who seemed like a very nice chap did not do a good job at all explaining the menu or the specials.
It took more than 10 minutes to get a bottle wine which seemed to be a challenge to open. (Another 3 minutes)
Finally when the meal arrived my seafood had so much added salt that it was practically impossible to eat.
Without some major refinements I believe this place is short lived just as others in the same location.

Finally some good fresh seafood in the Gables. Service was excellent with the owner there at your table to recommend her favorites from the menu. There was plenty of variety in the seafood offered from a raw sushi bar with rolls and tacos to Latin influenced seafood dishes. Definitely a Latin/​Asian fusion. Highly Recommended: Rock Shrimp, Tuna Rolls, Ceviche, Tuna Tacos, Filet Mignon with Pear Ravioli and Whole Fried Hog Snapper. Will definitely be a regular spot for me.
