Totally unassuming, easy to miss little place that should not be missed if near by. I ended up here with my friend for lunch before heading to the airport. We were looking for a place close to Versailles Bakery in Coral Gables and this place popped up with a ton of stellar reviews. Being die hard Unilocal elites, we decided we had to go. We ordered the Veggie Pizza(Neapolitan style pizza): Margherita With Mushrooms, Sauteed Eggplant and Zucchini. The generously sized pizza was perfect for two to share and the flavors were bold, fresh and would make any pizza place in Naples, Italy proud! The pizza comes out relatively quickly, and is quite inexpensive considering the size and quality of ingredients making this a great place to eat if you’re under a time crunch. The pizza was so good that I am not even going to reduce a star for the terrible arancino(rice ball stuffed with ground beef and cheese) that I ordered. Bonus: Check in on Unilocal and receive a complimentary Nutella crêpe! Way to sweeten the deal Pummarola!

I’m not even going to bother writing a review. Just do yourself a favor and go eat there. Then send me a thank you note. p. s. it’s tiny and seating is limited.

The calzones and pizzas are so good. It has been my favorite pick up meal go to. Haven’t been disappointed yet

We were looking for a quick bite in between grabing a dessert at Versailles and this spot popped up on Unilocal with tons of great reviews. I can definitely see why! It’s not noticible when you walk up and definitely a small joint but the food is not small in flavor or size! We had the grilled veggie pizza and it was delicious! The pizza took only minutes to make and was covered in goodness. With grilled eggplant, mushrooms, zucchini and fresh mozzerella who can resist? Also bonus if you check in on Unilocal you get a free nutella crêpe! The service is quick and very nice and the food is fantastic. I highly recommend if you are in the area and need to grab a good bite for little price and big flavor.

Amazing! I would let the pizza sit for a few minutes if you’re eating in, it’s really hot and slippery if you don’t. The ingredients feel fresh and the Nutella calzone is to die for

This is only my second review of a restaurant that I have visited in my 9 months of living in Coral Gables, and with good reason. I do not usually write reviews on restaurants that provide bad service, or where the food is not the best in quality, because I feel as though no marketing is more helpful than negative marketing. But any who, this establishment is by far the best pizzeria that I have been to in a long time. I am a US Army Veteran, and while overseas I visited Italy in order to escape the stresses and bullets that plagued my deployment. Of course when you are in Italy, you have to have authentic pizza. Returning back to the US, I was a little sad because I knew I would probably not have as good of pizza as I had in Italy, but let me tell you… I was SO wrong. What I love most about Pummarola is the fact that the food is authentic. You can go to any restaurant and receive bad service, like I did when I first visited Spritz located around the corner from there, but if the food is good then that makes up for it somewhat. However, you get both friendly service AND delicious food when you visit Pummarola. Their gourmet pizzas are amazing, hands down. And if you love cheese as much as I do, then let me tell you that you are going to fall in love with this place! :) I refuse to go to any other pizzeria if I have a choice, because I know for certain that the pizza will not compare to here, and I would rather not ruin my tastebuds on lousy pizza. What is better, is that Pummarola does not only serve pizza that is literally prepared and baked right in front of you(literally), but they also have an assortment of different pastas prepared in various ways, sandwiches, appetizers like bruschetta, sides like roasted rosemary potatoes(which I get every time I visit), and desserts(SIDENOTE: Try the Nutella cannoli!!). The first time I walked inside the pizzeria it made me feel like I was back in Italy, because not only do you get an Italian vibe as if you were in the country itself, but the staff doesn’t only speak Spanish like most establishments here in Miami. The managers Claudio and Alessandro, two really friendly guys that are also trilingual, are both from Italy, and they converse with many customers who also speak Italian, which adds to the authentic Italian vibe. If you go alone like I usually do and are looking for good conversation, there is no need for being shy. Any members of their staff are great to talk to :) I could write more and more good things about this place, but I do not want to spoil everything that I am sure you will experience for yourself if you visit this pizzeria. So ciao ciao ;)

Service was great. The cashier greeted us as we walked in which was amazing! However the pizza was nasty. The tomatoes made it soggy. I had to put so much seasoning and ranch and other condiments just to add flavor to it. No Bueno!

I looooooovvvvvvvveeeeeee this place. I have been here only twice but I will definitely go many more times. The pizza is thin and the ingredients are fresh. It is the most perfect pizza ever. I’ve also had the gnocchi which is also extremely good. The prices are low and the food quality is great. What more could you ask for? Definitely a 10⁄10.

A phenomenal place in the heart of the Gables! I brought a large group of friends(15 of us) in this small restaurant last week, and Claudio, the manager, went above and beyond to accommodate all of us and make us feel at home! The pizza is as good as it gets even in the best pizzerias of Italy and the prices are very affordable! Emiliano is a real«Maestro» with his pizza creations, and Pummarola never disappoints. Let it be for a quick coffee and Nutella pizza or a 2 hours dinner, quality is always a priority. BRAVISSIMI! Però SEMPREFORZAMAGICAROMA!!!

Fantastica la pizza– la vera pizza italiana a miami — — – Really great pizza; I’m American and my boyfriend is Genovese, and he is very picky(and often disappointed) with Italian food choices in the US. This pizza reminded us both of being home at a pizzeria in Genoa. We will be coming back I’m sure

Loved this hole in the wall Italian restaurant. I had the Margarita pizza and it was delicious! And only 8 dollars! A must try if you are in the area.

FANTASTIC, Authentic, thin crust pizza. I got ½ Tartufo(truffle cream) ½ spicy pepperoni. Yummy!!! The store is super easy to miss though, I drove past it twice :) It is in between 2 hair or nail shops I think– super small but very cute. I highly recommend it!

Not very impressed. Disappointed really. I was excited to try it after reading the reviews. The dough was doughy and the pizza as a whole was pretty tasteless. Not impressed!

Great place for a cheap but good italian food! Don’t be fooled by the small size of the restaurant, it will get full in a second and whenever I walk by is always full of people having lunch or dinner. The reason? Their unexpensive pizzas and pastas, easy to choose menus with photos and simple but delicious taste very close to the italian way. They have a real fire oven, which makes their pizza a must, on the other hand their pizzas are not as good as I expected. The dough is elastic and good, but the mozzarella is cheap and becomes hard as soon as it starts becoming cold… for me, that’s very bad thins in a real pizza, and the reason why I put 4 stars and not 5. Also, whenever I eat their pizza I get a lot of bloating in my stomach, so maybe their dough is not well fermented… or it might be just me. The Carbonara pasta was incredible, very tasty and without cream, as carbonara should be, and with a very nice taste of parmigian cheese and bacon… delicious! The starter eggplants were good but a bit tasteless and too much oil, but combined with the parmigian cheese(which comes in a small container ad you can add as much as you want) and bread they were quite good. I had a free nutella crêpe, and even though I was disappointed at first when I saw how small it was, it was very satisfying and with a good amount of Nutella :). Overall, considering how difficult it i to find fairly-priced italian style pasta and pizza keeping a good quality, I think I will be a regular client!

I love pizza and trying new pizza places and this place was awesome! The flavors of the mushrooms were so good! I came with my mom and she is very picky and she loved it as well.(So it’s not just me) we ordered a margarita pizza with mushrooms and ham. The place is small but Really cute little spot where you will find real Italians cooking your pizza not someone else. The ambiance is great too. Being in the gables and it being a little hidden gem it’s awesome the décor was super cute and updated and clean. The guys working there were very nice and welcoming so we had an overall great experience. I would totally recommend anyone here at any time of the day. Hope you go try it out!

My friends and I stopped in for a quick bite before Ultra and were excited about the different options offered. The restaurant isn’t that big, but feels home-y and could still accommodate for all the guests on Sunday around noon. I ordered the proscuitto and arugula pizza and everything tasted really fresh. I like the crust of the pizza. It had just the right amount of chew and was still crispy on the bottom. My friends ordered the truffle and mushroom pizza, and the potato with ham(I think) pizza, and a chicken pesto calzone. I had a bite of each and everything was wonderful. I think the truffle and mushroom was really good but a little difficult to eat as it had the truffle oil which made it a little soggy and hard to pick up. But the flavors worked really well together. In the end we shared the nutella pizza which comes with strawberries and bananas. Best decision we made all day. The dough is like the pizza dough and they put a good amount of nutella to cover the pizza. It was delicious!

I really like the food here — the pizza is made fresh in the oven and is always quite tasty. I enjoy sitting in the«bar area» so that I can watch the chef prepare the pizza dough. Chicken milanese sandwich is very good, and a good deal for the price. I did it find it a bit heavy, but I guess that is a given when it comes to this particular sandwich. Fettuccine Bolognese is my favorite so far. The sauce is so tasty despite the pasta being thicker than what I am used to. I would probably eat this from here on out as a «go-to» dish. Tiramisu is definitely something you can skip. Its VERY heavy on the mascarpone cheese and SMOTHERED in Nutella. While I enjoy my tiramisu more creamy than dry from the lady fingers, I think this one is over loaded. It’s difficult to enjoy because the nutella flavor is so overpowering and it feels like eating a spoonful with every bite. Skip the dessert here until they perfect them — oh, and this cost them a star. But otherwise, I highly recommend!

A slice of Italy in Florida. Everyone there was speaking Italian that night and it reminded me of when we were in Venice. My coworkers got the Crema di tartufo pizza and tortellini. I got the spicy salami pizza and we all split the arancino for an appetizer. We also checked in to get the free nutella crêpe. We loved our pizzas. The pasta portion was a bit small. It might’ve been good to share a pizza and pasta between two people. The quality was there though! The aracino was delicious as well. Fried risotto ball filled with cheese is always a good idea. We had to remind them about our crêpe at the end of our meal, but it surprised us. It was very nutella-y and the perfect end to the meal.

The last thing I expected to try out while I was in Florida was Italian, but I’m so glad I did. This place is fantastic. The interior is quaint, the staff is friendly, and the food is delicious for a good price. My girlfriend and I have always been asking why there isn’t a good pizza/pasta place that doesn’t have to be sit-down formal or overpriced. Well, we found it a long way from home. We had the Margarita pizza and Gnocchi with Alfredo sauce. Both were delicious. It was also very comforting to see a lot of Italians, despite the hard parking because the street was full, coming throughout the hour we were there. Free Nutella Crêpe with a Unilocal Check in, so I definitely cashed in on that. Who doesn’t like Nutella? What actually really did it for me was these spicy peppers they had as condiments. I’ve never had them before and they went really well with my pasta. Would definitely come back!
