Everything Laura H. wrote was true. The Ramen here is garbage. I didn’t even get an egg. Just go down the street to Ichirin for much better Ramen. Even the sushi is slipping lately. Not fresh. The waiter was great though.

The sashimi platter was surprisingly filling and the salmon tasted like delicious ocean butter! I would come back here, the fish tasted very fresh and the restaurant has a nice ambience. Service was whatever, but i don’t mind if the foods great.

Our waiter Leroy made our time there worthwhile. I got the dragon roll and my friend got the budda-cane roll. Both were SUPER delicious and to top it off, our waiter let us try the donut dessert on the house. Definitely a must-try!

I order from here veeeeery often(delivery to my job in Merrick Park) and by now the drivers know my location so delivery is quick. Usually under an hour, never over an hour. I love their rainbow and spicy tuna rolls + chicken pad thai. I die for their bubble tea and sometimes I order their minimum delivery fee in food just to get my bubble tea. Only down is that one time I got my tea with no bubbles but I called and they sent a new one! Also their bubble tea straws are always smushed in half :/Besides that really great sushi and service!

My review goes for the food, from a scale 1 thru 10 they get a 4… service was good, food came out quick. I ordered special fried rice and it wasn’t noting like the normal fried rice… it was watery.

Let’s start by saying that we would order from Sushi Maki at least 4 times a month, the last 2 times we were unhappy because the orders were missing items that are included in the meal. The first time it was sushi rolls and the second time the spring rolls. We reached out to Sushi maki and expressed our disappointment, they told us they would send the driver with our spring rolls and in about 20 minutes it arrived, a female brought us the rolls. Despite the fact that the rolls were not good, tasted old, one of the sauces was extremely spicy, that one of our co-workers almost choked as she dipped the spring role in the sauce. Once we were finished eating, we found a BLACKPUBICHAIR poking from the box were the rolls were. Needless to say as we are never going back to Sushi Maki!

Went on a rainy Sunday evening. Ordered pad Thai w/chicken and the fifty. Sushi was good, pad Thai wasn’t. It had a funky taste… And way too much of whatever sauce they use. Service was good and the chefs were really amiable. For the price it was mediocre. Probably won’t be going back.

I ordered delivery for the first time. Huge mistake. The ramen was so soggy I couldn’t finish it. The sushi was ok for the price. You can go down the street to Iron Sushi for the cheapest sushi in the gables and get better ramen.

Very nice atmosphere with choice of indoor and outdoor seating. Sushi seemed very fresh and did not take awhile to come out. Ginger salad was also fresh, and dressing was delicious. The staff was all friendly and attentive. Variety of meal options, all decently priced.

I like the sushi here. I avoid the ones with«white fish» because I know it’s tilapia(yuck!!!). Aside from that, all their rolls are pretty good. They also have small tacos. You can get them with salmon, tuna and/or yellow tail. They are good. They are not Sushi Samba taquitos, but they are a different kind of good. The place is clean, modern & usually has nice chill out lounge music. Everyone is nice.

Abe Ng and his talented team whip up some of Miami’s most reliably good sushi at this Coral Gables stalwart. Outside seating makes this a unique dining option. With Sushi Samba across the street and Sushin Izakaya and POC just down the block –Coral Gables has a ton of sushi places. This one stands out for efficient and professional service(Leroy) and reasonable prices.

Food was great and so was atmosphere, the service was spotty, we had 3 different servers during the night. PS. they no longer have the Unilocal Check-in deal(Item is no longer on the menu)… When I told them they didn’t seem to want to offer anything else so I asked and they offered the Thai doughnuts which were VERY good. There are 4 different sushi places in the are I’d definitely return.

My wife and I were trying to remember why we have not been to Sushi Maki in a few years. Once we were served we remember why. First –Bad Service — the wait staff are young kids that don’t know what they are doing. They did not bring plates or silverware and when asked they only brought it for one. Second — Bad Food Quality — the chicken was dry and old, sushi was plain tasting and the Ramen was OK. The food is not fresh, and for sushi this is a deal breaker. Third — Ambience — Empty for a Saturday night… food quality is probably the reason and the plain décor… every other restaurant was packed. Duraku and POC are the best sushi restaurants at this price level. Give them a try before this place.

We had lunch for the first time. We had the fish tacos which were yummy. My husband had the lunch sashimi. Nice sized pieces of fresh fish served over ice. I had the chicken teriyaki with pad Thai. Unfortunately, my chicken was overcooked, but I would try this place again and order sushi next time. Our server was friendly and attentive. We happened to witness an uncomfortable encounter between a dissatisfied customer and the manager arguing about her wait time which made us uncomfortable. If it weren’t for that I would have given 4 stars.

I have been coming to this place for many years as this place is in my neighborhood First of all let me say, the food is good and reasonable priced Our waitress swainee is always on the ball It’s super cold inside so bring a jacket even if it’s summer The choice of music is horrible and loud they play reggae and rap music which I don’t understand why because it’s is a Japanese restaurant Just for that I’m only given it three stars, five stars means perfection and that makes it less then perfect

Brought the whole family. Great environment. Accommodating staff. Excellent service. Excellent food. The owner happened to be there and made sure we were more than satisfied! Sashimi salad was huge! Lots of lettuce. Killed the Bento box dessert. Tried the new lychee sashimi dish. This place is always putting out different foods and recipe. Love it.

Oh, boy. I’m not really sure how much I can say about this place without everyone getting grossed out. As I walked by this restaurant every day, I noticed they have Ramen! I love Ramen. I lived in Japan for over a year. Ramen and I are good friends. THISISNOTGOODRAMEN. Out of the six of us, four of us had Ramen. In every single case, the noodles were a clumpy, stuck together mess. I tried the Pork Belly Ramen(Braised pork belly and shoyu broth). From the food experiences i’ve had, this is not pork belly. It’s the standard chashu pork. The entire dish was pretty flavorless, the noodles were clumpy and gross, and the only good part was the soft cooked egg. A friend had the tonkatsu pork ramen, and though the noodles were still bad, at least the broth had flavor. But flavor in one out of four doesn’t really do it… the dish is called RAMEN. Sad to say, our server was likely on his first day, and seems to have some sort of «medically» influenced malaise. One of the four of us also found himself having to bolt to the restroom with intestinal distress fairly often after eating here. Though the chicken and waffles sushi roll was good, I don’t think I’ll be back.

Amazing staff, great atmosphere, good sushi… However… Online ordering is a disaster. I had the opportunity to stand by for about 15 minutes waiting for my order to be completed after been notified that it was ready. Not a big deal for me but I felt bad for the hardworking staff. They were being screamed at by other upset customers. It seems to be a problem of understaffing. They moved as fast and efficiently as I have never seen but they were just too few. The manager did not seem to care at all. The waitress preparing my order was more concerned than the manager and even cared to offer free drinks to the customers waiting. Please staff accordingly to your volume and you will have happy costumers and happy employees. Thank you!!!

This is one of the best Sushi places in Miami! It is not pricey, the decoration is awesome, and the food is fresh! MY favorite is the Bacon Fried Rice, it is only 6 $ and it’s delicious, the rice is not overcooked and its soft, comes with a slice of bacon, some onions and pineapple for that perfect balance of flavor. The Spicy Tuna Rice is amazingly delicious, we got it for free for checking in on Unilocal.(Thank you for that!) Other than that the place is excellent, great for a date or a group of friends :)

A friend of mine was in the mood for sushi and suggested the Sushi Maki on the mile. I had never been to this location, so I was down to give it a shot, even though it was incredibly busy from an outsider’s perspective. Once inside, the host seated us immediately and assured us a server was on their way. Roughly 8 – 10 minutes later, a server came by to take our drinks, and seemed annoyed when I stated I wasn’t in the mood for an alcoholic beverage. We immediately placed our food orders in, simply because we didn’t want to wait another 10 minutes before he came back. The menu had an array of options, from sliders to fried rice and, of course, sushi. I opted for the rainbow roll + miso soup, which is usually a safe bet. Boring, but there’s no way to usually mess it up. The roll was okay, nothing to rave on about. The fish didn’t taste 100% fresh, that was my main complaint. Meh, perhaps, I came in on an off day? Overall, service was slow but not terrible. Food was bland. Will I come back? Eh, given there are many other options to eat around Miracle Mile, probably not.

This restaurant is on the University of Miami campus food court, so expect to dine with students and university employees. It can get rather busy during lunch time. I once came at 12:30p, and waited for about 15 minutes for lunch. You order at the register and then retrieve your food at the pick up counter. On your receipt is your order number. Then you find a place to sit, which isn’t difficult because there are a lot of tables and chairs available. The stir fry is made fresh to order. I got the chicken teriyaki($ 7) and it had a generous portion of chicken, served on a bed of half brown rice and half fresh cole slaw. The meal was delicious! The chicken was nicely flavored and juicy, and the brown rice had a wonderful nuttiness to it. Overall I had a good experience and will be coming back.

This place has always been consistent for me when it comes to food. Always a good spot to enjoy a variety of sushi and other entrees that may not be traditional Japanese. This is a sushi joint that is a bit more Americanized, but nonetheless good food. I typically always get the dragon roll, and recommend it if you are looking for a rich flavor. This time I tried the reloaded red dragon roll and I thought it was good after the first couple rolls, then the flavor started to get a bit too strong for me and overwhelming. The bacon fried rice here is a must and great to share with someone on the side. It comes in a decent sized bowl.

I came here on a recent Friday night, and while my experience wasn’t perfect, it is worthy of an additional star vs. the original rating I gave this restaurant 5 years ago. They’ve improved on the menu, are offering items like sliders and ramen and seem to be at least trying to better themselves by adding items like draft beers for $ 2 per glass. Good thing, too, because with Sushi Samba directly across the street and another sushi place not far away on Miracle Mile, they’ve got some competition nearby. We arrived at about 9:15 p.m. and there were plenty of open tables, so we were seated right away. We ordered the chicken yakitori skewers to share as a starter, my friend ordered the pork ramen, and I ordered their pork belly sliders(to share) and a California roll. The skewers were good, as was the California roll. When I initially tried the sliders, something was a bit off with the first one I tried. I couldn’t tell if the pork belly had been frozen and then reheated, if the bun was stale or what the problem was. That being said, the second slider tasted OK. My friend had the third and said it was also fine. I tried the fries that came with the sliders; they were fine, but I was definitely not a fan of the wasabi ketchup that was served with them. Simple, basic and plain ketchup would’ve been fine on its own, I could’ve done without the heat and odd taste created by the addition of the wasabi. Service on this night was a bit spotty. Our server was there quickly to take our drink orders, then our food orders. However, when he took our food orders I requested a glass of water which I never got until I asked for it again when ordering my second beer. Also, my sliders were delivered just after the appetizer, but I had to remind him after finishing the sliders that I also had a California roll on order. I could tell by the amount of time he took to retrieve it that he’d either just put he order in or reminded them to make it. The total for our food, 2 beers, a soft drink and a bubble tea came to just under $ 40 including tax.

I wanted sushi for lunch and was headed to the restaurant across the street when I saw that this place which was jam packed so I made the quick switch to go here instead because if its packed, it has to be better. The restaurant is fairly small and you can dine outside but unless I’m crazy I’m not doing that in the middle of the day in the Miami heat so dining in was the only option. We got lucky though and they found us a table in the back. For starter we had the Sushi Taco Trio. It not the best quality fish, but for the prices you are paying(which is quite cheap), it is understandable. I quite enjoyed the tacos but sadly this was as good as it was going to get. I then had a Red Dragon Reloaded Roll. It was alright, but I personally didn’t really enjoy it. It had a strange tangy, sour taste that was throwing it off. My dining companion had the Pad Thai and Steak. The Pad Thai wasn’t bad, but was not great either and it was just very odd that the steak tasted like liver and kind of look like it too. We also tried the Char-Sui Roast Pork Ramen. The were some likeable elements, but really I would never get that again. We finished the meal off with the Banana Wontons. The bananas were over ripe and very soft. The wontons on the other hand were dry and a little difficult to bite into. It was a bit of a disastrous dessert. Service was okay, a bit slow at times. Prices are great, but I am not really willing to compromise quality for a good price.
