Absolutely incredible food and fast service. Sat us right away, gave individual attention and did I mention that the food was INCREDIBLE! Definitely recommend and will go back soon.

The food is tasty but the main reason I’m giving it four stars is the price. Though it’s reasonable for Coral Gables, there are better taquerias for better prices. The horchata was also meh.

I’m not going to sit here and say the food sucks, because it doesn’t, it taste really great aside of the fact that it’s a bit pricey for the amount of food you get. But what I’m extremely disappointed in is the service. I’ve given this place 4 chances and every-time they take forever to either place our order, bring our drinks, bring our food and bring our check. I wish this business the best, but unfortunately I won’t be coming back to this place unless they train their employees to provide us with better service and please don’t take it as I’m saying they’re mean people they’re not, but they’re a mess and need to get themselves together. People make mistakes we aren’t perfect, but don’t let it be back to back. Either they need to give there employees less tables to handle or train them to multitask better.

By far the best Mexican fast food in town! Food was excellent! Friendly service! Just what was missing. Fresh ingredients, made to order, clean and amazing taste!

I really love the tacos here, my favorite is the carnitas taco, the pork has a lot of flavor and i like that they add bits of chicharron into it. The portions are also pretty good. I do find that when you eat in you get two corn tortillas but when you take-out you get four! Anyway, the tortillas are really fresh and always warm. My plan is to go and try as much as possible from the menu.

The tacos and chips are pretty good. The service was quick enough. The place is dirty. Lots of the tables had food spilled on the chairs, crumbs on the table/place mats. It looks like they don’t clean after customers are finished. The music is also really loud. It was hard to hear. I had the«Pastor» and«Carne Asado». Both were pretty good. I would come back to try the rest of the menu.

Where’s my food? Absolutely not at this place. For $ 10 bucks, I get two tacos– something I can finish in a few bites and will leave me craving more. Okay, time to go to Taco Bell. Fresh ingredients, but overpriced. There is also hardly any wait, but that may be because for the price of food, people may be turned off by the prices. It is Miracle Mile, but I think there is another Mexican place, Talavera Cocina Mexicana, which has higher prices, but more food to make up for it. I would highly recommend this place for someone who is looking for something quick with fresh ingredients, but these prices were a little bit too pricy for my liking, considering the amount of food(or lack of) they put on your plate.

A reasonably priced restaurant is always a welcome addition to high-priced Coral Gables. This place actually is pretty good too. For what it is(taqueria), they really don’t need waiter service, but they provide it anyway. The food is good… including the complimentary chips and salsas of which they give you 5 different delicious salsas… nice touch. I tried the chicken tacos which come as an order of two and the portion is a pretty good size. Prices are a little on the high side but nothing too outrageous. Makes a good pit stop for tacos in the Gables.

Fresh, delicious, not sure how authentic(my taco had manchego cheese) but the flavors are worth the trip, service was incredible, don’t think I’ve had such s great first time experience at a restaurant in a while. If you like carnitas, steak, shrimp well seasoned and served fresh, check this place out now!

Order the chicharron de Queso! It’s a classic. The tacos were very good and salsas to Match. Definitively a good place to have tacos. It’s a bit pricey compared to regular tacos but the home made tortillas is with it.

God, I really wanted this place to do well. We lack quality authentic Mexican food in South Florida. But, unfortunately this place is NOT consistent, and consistency is what gives restaurants longevity. The concept is accurate, Mexican street food, but the product is not. They need to improve the quality of the food if they are to stay at this location. You must deliver a quality product if you are to afford Coral Gables rental space. There is too much competition in this area to deliver a mediocre food.

The flavor is accurate, even on the taco al pastor, the bad thing is that every taco came out cold, we ordered a side of warm tortillas so we could replace the taco and they also came out cold. The service was pretty good. The orchata was amazing!!!

A fun and unique atmosphere at Wapo Taco, different than the surroundings I’m used to in Gables(which I do love all things gables) Inviting, Colorful, chill, festive and friendly are the vibes I got when I entered the world of Wapo. It was a Tuesday, so perfectly appropriate for some meat and cheese between tortillas. Our waiter was über friendly and helpful with the menu. He even brought samples of the different meats for us to try before we ordered. We got chips to start and pork and steak tacos to end and were so stuffed that we couldn’t have dessert. next time for sure. The only thing was that my taco meat was so juicy that my tortilla tore and got soggy but our waiter brought me 3 freshly made tortillas :) perfect. Yum.

I have driven by Waco Taco a few times before and always wanted to check it out. It’s a cute Mexican restaurant. I had the Baja Fish tacos and it was good but extremely messy. I really like Mexican food but it was too spicy for me. My mom had a regular steak and cheese quesadilla which was good. I would like to come back to try something new.

I hate to do this Wapo! Decided to go back and try the food on a regular night to make a fair review. Still busy, but not crazy. I stick with my two original observations for both Wapo locations. As soon as we walked in, we noticed the flame on the trompo was super low. I like my Tacos al Pastor crispy, can’t say it enough. We asked our server if she could request the meat to be left a bit longer on the flame(on the trompo) so that it could be crispy. The server without even trying, said that it wasn’t possible, that they cut the meat off the trompo, then finish it off on the griddle, no exceptions. Of course our meat came exactly how we didn’t want it. No crispiness at all. I’m not sure if it’s a hazard issue or what, but if you’re going to have a trompo, you might as well make good use of it. It really is a shame because the flavor of the meat is good. My other issue with Wapo was their salsas not being spicy. As the owner requested in my previous post, I ordered the«special spicy salsa». When I ask the server what kind of pepper they use, she says«oh they just mix all the salsas» … exactly, the same non-spicy ones i’m not crazy about. So besides it not tasting great, nor spicy, it has a VERY unpleasant look to it. Please guys, as a suggestion, just make a totally different salsa for spicy food lovers, don’t waste all your other salsas in this particular one that underwhelms and makes me want to think twice before even touching it.

I could not have been more excited to have a taqueria near work. I anxiously awaited for the restaurant to open. Due to the hype & long lines I had not been able to check it out until today. The 1st time I tried to eat Wapo Taco was on a Friday during lunch rush and the wait was around 45 minutes. Luckily today on a Monday around 1:15pm I was seated w/o waiting. The restaurant was moving and diners came in & out. My friend & I were seated all the way in the back by the high counters. Already on the table where we were seated were a bowl of chips with different salsas. None to brag about. The server came, took our order and the food came out shortly thereafter. We shared the Volcan & the Campechano. They were both just OK, no big deal. Just like the food the server was just OK, not too friendly nor attentive. No refills on water were offered. I was deeply crushed since I had really high hopes and big expectations.

Finally got to try this place last week after several attempts. First couple of attempts, I came around 11 and 11:30 and they were still closed but the host mentioned that they normally open at 11:30…weird. I just happen to be in the neighborhood to pick up Starbucks and noticed they were open early this time so I went and sat at the table by the bar. Manager greeted me and server quickly handed me the menu. I asked how big the tacos were since only come 2 per order. Manager said it was enough for one person so decided to order the Pastor tacos… to start. First, my server brought complimentary chips and 6 different dips. Of course, I was more drawn to the spicier dark red salsa. Then my Pastor tacos came and they were decent, nicely marinated but definitely not enough to fill me up. So I ordered Campechano(skirt steak, chorizo, crispy pork chicharrón, grilled w/special salsa). This one was on point. Bold flavors from the variety of meats topped w/crunchy chicharron. Now I was surely full :) The only thing that’s preventing me to give 5 stars is the price. It’s about 8 to 10 bucks for 2 tacos so it was quite a pricey lunch compared to other taco joints. Otherwise, the food was great, service was quick and liked the cafeteria style w/modern twist. I will be back to try the other dishes.

Let me begin by saying that I was sooooooo excited for this taco place to open. Coral Gables definitely needed an authentic taco spot. So… I finally went to check it out and I was both happy and disappointed at the same time. How could that be? Well, to start off the service was great. We were greeted at the door and taken to the bar, which is basically an open kitchen; it was somewhat entertaining to watch. We placed our orders with our waiter who was very nice an enthusiastic and then waited about 2 minutes for our food to arrive. Yes, it was THAT fast! The food, however, is nothing out of this world and that is why I am giving this place three stars. We had the pastor taco, cochinitas taco, and another taco/quesadilla steak thing(I can’t remember the name). Overall the food was …“Ok”. I don’t think I will be going back though. But at least it’s nice to have the option in the Gables. They do start you off with some chips and a bunch of their salsas, which we weren’t very fond of so we didn’t really eat them. Overall, a 3⁄5.

Happy to find a spot like this. Fare warning, I landed last night from a trip to Mexico, and went with my 3 coworkers who all happen to be mexicans too. Our group consensus is that the place is pretty legit, the sauces are fresh, and the desserts are great. The prices are on the high side, but that might be because we had ordered the whole menu. I tried the«gringo» and it was fresh and very flavorful. Tried one of the michoacana of grosella(they also had Jamaica/hibiscus) and it was a bit sweet but very refreshing. They just opened so my suggestions included more sitting and online ordering.
