An absolutely beautiful and well maintained park. We went for «A Day Out with Thomas». Everyone working the event was so friendly. The park is perfect for a family outing, fishing, picnic… etc.

My family and I love to come here to just get away from home. The lake is nice and peaceful and the people are friendly. I would like to see the grass/​lawns mowed more often but it is a state park.
We have found that when it gets busy, it’s best to come back on days that it’s not so busy. The «beach» is good enough for me that I can come here and still feel like I took a mini-​vacation.
I would prefer to see the lake a bit cleaner but knowing that there are corporations up along the Flint River (which feeds the lake) polluting it is a bit discomforting. So, when I go swimming, I keep it short. This is not the park’s fault though.
The nature walks are fantastic. Lots of deer and wildlife to see. The park puts on a FABULOUS Halloween event for the kids and family. Last year (2013) was a blast! Highly recommend. Went to the park on July 4, 2014 for the fireworks and we had a very nice time.
