They say they are a family resort but they mean adult drinking and partying families– the police had to shut down parties at 5am. We had no sleep at all. When we complained, we were told we were over sensitive as we had a baby– charming customer service from the owners. The walls were paper thin. Don’t expect to sleep

I AMSHOOTINGFORCLEAN, SIGHTUNSEEN… We were headed to Mountain Jam and needed a close place to Hunter Mountain. We knew from past experiences that most of the eastern ski resorts we have been to were not filled with name hotels, so we weren’t expecting much. We booked this place for 3 nights with our fingers crossed. Please be clean, please be clean. Our room was on the 3rd floor of our building, so let me just say that the stairs are small and awkward. The room was clean, but not spectacular. They have an abundance of towels in each bathroom and even though we kept our privacy sign up, they left additional towels at our door each day. The walls are paper-thin, so you hear people stomping across the porch and children playing outside… just an FYI. The beds could use an upgrade as we both slept terribly and woke stiff. We didn’t use the pool, though it was used by others and very clean! We didn’t attend breakfast due to it only being served from 8 – 930. That’s ok though, because the saving grace to the rock hard beds and paper-thin walls was the hiking trail on the property… OH…MY…GOSH…is it gorgeous with all the waterfalls! Overall, satisfied with our stay.

A GREATCOUNTRYRESORT With the modern world upon us, we have a few places left from the bygone years where families drove up from the city and vacationed in the country. Going to «the mountains» thrived in the mid to late 1900’s .The Jet age and next generation of families moving away from the city to more rural areas and for various other reasons caused a decline in travel to East Durham and the entire Catskill region. In turn there are not many places left to go to. I AMHAPPYTHATTHEGAVINFAMILYHASSUSTAINEDHARDTIMESANDISABLETOACCOMMODATECITYFOLKWHOWANTTOGOTOTHECOUNTRY! ALWAYS A GOODTIME. A BEAUTIFULPLACE.

The resort and surrounding area was really nice and clean. And most of the resort had good service. The dining hall service was terrible though. If it wasn’t for the food(which was really good) we would not have eaten there, even though the meal was included in our room price. We bought drinks from a waitress, and were not allowed to bring them with us to dinner, even though they were prepared by the dining hall bar. After asking 3 different waitresses for extra butter, I asked the GM and received the response«possibly» while shaking her head. On her way back to bring me butter, she dropped it all over the ground, picked it up, and tossed it on our table. We will not be returning to this establishment.
