Seriously some of the best Fish tacos I’ve ever eaten. The BBQ Quesadilla is to die for. Really good salsa… I’ve eaten there 3 times during a week long stay. Well worth the stop in…

Located in the Timbuk II shopping center, we were here in the off season(March, just before stuff started to reopen) and needed lunch for a combo of adults and some picky kids. The food was quite fresh, and the guys there ran a tight ship. We were a little out of sorts with ordering(extra this here, somebody wanted a la carte something else, yada yada), and it seemed like a LOT of food, but they kept it straight and we got everything we ordered. Everyone left happy, and it was a nice little oasis of easy Mexican food on a day when nobody could decide what they wanted.

Great and friendly service. We enjoyed the chicken mole burrito and shrimp enchiladas. Prices not bad for the area(which is understandably higher).

Super fresh, extremely friendly and absolutely delicious. We were in the mood for Mexican. Came across a few decent reviews in Unilocal.Wow, they were spot on. Beer on tap, food came up fast. Great options for our toddler on the kids menu. Oh yeah, and EVERYTHING is gluten free(except the flour Tortillas, obviously). That’s very authentic and muy Bueno.

This place was excellent! We had set out to eat at Agave Roja and they were closed for no apparent reason. That sent us to this place which we were very happy about! The burritos were HUGE and very, very good, we had the brisket and chicken. The chips and queso are not to be missed. If you love the hotness, their habanero salsa is made with chopped up fresh habaneros and it is legit! We had the mahi mahi tacos and they were very good. The service was great, be sure to leave the guys a good tip in the jar next to the register.

Current owner took over the former Bad Bean location. The food is the same. The food is good. If you are in the mood for a quick«Mexican» fix, stop in grab some burritos or tacos. You will have a good and filling meal. The margaritas are just ok… if you are really in the mood go ahead and grab one. If you want a great margarita there is a much better one to be had across the street.

No more Bad Bean??? I was VERY concerned that our OBX staple of Bad Bean may be a thing of the past! But the reality was it seemed Bad Bean was only going through the motions that last couple years… Mexikind gets me! Loved the selection and quality! Food choices seem to have more variety. We visited twice on our 1 week vacation and even brought leftovers home. Very happy with this change. Recommend giving Mexikind a chance! No more bad beans, only good Mexikind!

Good for lunch. We had the Mahi fish tacos and a side of guac. House margaritas were tasty too!

We came to get some margaritas and chips. The chips were OK and the guacamole was nothing special — just the standard mushy kind you’d get in Mexican restaurants. The margaritas were very disappointing. The standard lime one was just meh and the mango one was just not good all around. Had to mix it with some sprite in order to finish it.

Food wasn’t great. Queso and chips was the highlight. Chicken burrito was very disappointing. Next time we’ll drive further to get better Mexican food while on vacay

Got the vegetarian tostada yesterday and had to go back to get the vegetarian burrito today! Flipping delicious!(Even my 11 month old was sad when the food was gone!)

Best Mexican food in the OBX. Central location and reasonably priced. I highly recommend.

Stopped in just for some margaritas and chips, tried both the traditional lime margarita and the special mango one. The lime margarita tasted mostly like sour mix, not good. The mango margarita at least had a taste of mango, but nothing special. The restaurant warns about how hot their hot salsa is, so we tried the medium salsa since we usually like hot and spicy salsa. Even the medium salsa was too hot, not enjoyable with the salty corn chips. I have fond memories of the Bad Bean at this location, and if I ever come back here I will stick to only the food, tacos and burritos, that I didn’t eat on this visit.

I decided to swing by this place and give it a try, and it was totally worth it. With pricing similar to Chipotle, and with menu items that will satisfy your Mexican craving, I would recommend this place in a heartbeat.

We used to frequent this place when it was the Bad Bean, but now I’m not sure if we’ll be back. Ordered the house specialty salad with sauteed shrimp for takeout. The shrimp were delicious and perfectly cooked. The jicama and pickled onions were great. However, almost half of my lettuce was brown — definitely not something that makes a good impression. Fortunately, The dressing came on the side, as it was supposed to be chipotle lime but instead tasted almost identical to the orange ginger dressing you get at Japanese restaurants and just wasn’t very good. We also tried the shrimp taco and that was great, but didn’t make up for the salad being half inedible. Staff was friendly, but a little disorganized, and the other diners seemed to be enjoying their meals. We’ll probably try it again but won’t go out of our way to do so.

A group of us happened upon this order at the counter and sit down restaurant in a shopping center, and were very happy we did. My friend got a margarita and loved it. I had my usual Mexican choice of tacos — a chicken and a beef. Both were great, but the shredded beef was fantastic. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food, and we would definitely come back any time we’re in the area.
