First of all ITS a BAR! Relax people, it’s a bar not a five star restaurant. If you go here expecting to find gourmet food, or your 5 year old to get the best kids meal ever or your party of 20 to get amazing service you are just not getting the point. Ok Rant over… The food… Burgers are great, the best I have found in the Corolla area. Forget the«gourmet» place on the other side of the plaza. Fries, tater tots, onion rings all good quality bar food that won’t disappoint. If you are expecting to get the best piece of fish or some other true restaurant food… well I couldn’t tell you how it is because I wouldn’t go here to order those types of dishes. The bar… Numerous beers on tap, wide selection of liquor, friendly bar staff… pretty much the things I expect at a bar. The atmosphere. Ok we have established its a bar. It’s a sports bar(a few steps up from a dive bar), college flags hang from the rafters, multiple tv’s hang behind the bar and a couple others around the room. Go here drink a beer grab burger or some wings and watch the game. Entertainment…Karoke nights are hilarious. The usual mix of good singers horrible singers and a crazy amount of people who show up just to have a great time singing their favorite songs. So to sum it up… It’s a bar(think I said that already). Go there with that in mind, order bar food, have a beer relax and your appreciation will go up.

Not exactly what I was hoping for. Overpriced unremarkable bar food. The place was full of flys also. Regret choosing to go there.

Ok experience. Food is average bar food at best. The service was pretty good, especially for our group of 20. Initially they separated our group and seated us at 2 tables, one that they put 6 people at, which was meant for 4. Not ideal, especially since both areas where cramped. Kinda worked its self out when the table next to us came available and we moved the kids all over to the other table. The tater tots were very good, everything else, eh.

Ehhhhhhhh. My family of 20! met here on check in day this past Saturday. They opened at 11:00 but we overheard the kitchen crew tell the front of house staff to not take any orders for at least 30 minutes. In that 30 minutes the place filled with eager vacationers looking for service. I saw about 10 tables sit with menus forever. Crying kids, grumpy adults and incompetent staff. The staff was hungover, lazy and unprofessional which pissed me off until my 3rd drink, then I did not give a shit anymore. They were not at all rude in any way to us but they all were over it as summer is coming to a close. We sat at the bar and gathered and some of our group went to a table to order food. The only likable item was the tuna bites and a monkey could make those. We hung out for hours. We got there at 11:30ish, my brother was there at 11:00 when they opened and stayed until almost 3:30! I will say they never made us feel like we needed to leave but they were understaffed and overwhelmed. Our bar tab alone was over $ 300.00! If you find yourself in this area and you need a place to camp until your house opens this place will suffice. But after check in we were not compelled to return. The owner should hire more people but the labor pool must be lacking in this area.

Best watering hole in the OBX. Sundogs has it all! The service was fast and very friendly. Our service was so good that we went back three times during our vacation. Wait staff was very friendly and accomodating, as well as the bar staff. Each day we were there there were awesome specials. The prices were very reasonable and the food was exceptional. The vibe was very fun and festive. We came on a karaōke night and an 80s cover band night. We had a blast both nights. I recommend walking around all of the cool shops that surround Sundogs, then stop in for lunch, drinks or dinner. Come for the food, stay for the drinks, and enjoy yourself at this awesome bar and grille.

Sundogs is a place that when we’re in Corolla, we ALWAYS pay a visit to once or twice. This is the only decent bar scene we have found short of driving all the way out to Duck. Our latest adventures at Sundogs were for the USWNT’s World Cup final. We had a group of 14. Amazingly enough, with the place SUPER crowded, we were able to nab a gigantic table near the front of the bar. Not sure how, but it worked out for us. The food is pretty good for a bar. IMPORTANTNOTE: THEHUSHPUPPIESARELEGIT. They have some good seafood and do most other things pretty well also. The drinks aren’t overly expensive and they have deals lots of the times. Also, always have $ 1 jello shots. Not sure how alcoholic they are but hey, they’re fun to do. They also have Karaōke a 1 – 2 times a week during the summer when we’re there and a trivia night. This year they had live band karaōke. I wasn’t as much of a fan as the DJ karaōke because of the song selection, but it was still good. For a bar near the beach, it’s a great place to grab some food and drinks if you have a big group or if there’s a sporting event you want to watch(Tons of tv’s). Definitely check it out if you’re in the area!

Boring menu. Mediocre service. Not great food. Staff was irritable. Then friendly. Then absent… Like, disappeared before halftime of the football game and never came back. Flagging down someone after an hour plus of empty drinks so we can pay our bill and leave isn’t ever ok. Food was bagged, boring, bar food with nothing special or local or exceptional about it. Drinks were ok but over priced. I imagine the only reason this place draws a base is because they’re open late.

The bald midget bartender has a nasty attitude and is not accommodating — looks like a much less successful version of Verne Troyer. Any time we tried to order a drink or some wings, he was«too busy» — and it is crowded, but not standing at the bar. Food is just ok, drinks are just ok. Not strong at all. The only reason anyone comes here is to watch football, or they would have to put air back in their tires to go anywhere else. And the $ 1 jello shots are straight jello. The rest of the staff was okay but they were usually«busy» or were nowhere to be found. Guaranteed — if another sports bar opened in the area, this place would tank right away. Terrible experience overall — recommend trying to stream the football game at your house or putting air in your tires to go to another sports bar if you are debating coming here. Stay away from Verne!
