I don’t know how this has bad reviews, cry me a river and float away in it. You’re not going to receive gourmet paragon of excellence food from a humble hole in the wall such as this. You’re going to receive hearty, delicious, traditional, and well made dishes. It is one man in the kitchen, being the owner, and the helper; I find that quite impressive given the demand and unrealistic expectations of their customer influx. I have yet to be disappointed — I order the cowboy bowl with a side of sushi each time and relish in the wonderful myriad of taste. I also see people complaining about high prices. Allow me to textually describe how food establishments work in terms of them being able to purchase and subsequently provide you with the dish you ask for. They must first purchase the required ingredients to create any particular dish you order at a set price, and re-sell it in consumable form with a price affixed to it that would yield a profit in comparison to the initial bulk purchasing price. This is a man that has to make a living for his family, and does the work for himself.

Food is okay but prices are to expensive manager raised up everything and yet not so much of a good service. I would rather go to the one in Main Street for all you can eat sushi for $ 24 instead of paying 2 rolls for $ 21. So people don’t waste your time not worth it ! Everything was raised a $ 1 more or $ 2 not worth it. .

For $ 39 you would think I’m feeding more than me and just my two kids. 3 bowls &2 rolls and a long wait. The cashier was unfriendly AND rude AND didn’t know the menu! We used to come here a lot but it seems that they have changed staff & raised prices and it is so not worth it. Don’t waste your time people!

I regret not making the drive to the usual spot off of Main. Ordered the Sumo Combo with 8pcs California roll and salmon teriyaki and it was such a let down. For $ 12 I would have thought you’ll get a bigger piece of salmon or some«wow» after the first bite, but nada. Should have listened to the other review on the salmon plate(d’oh) Definitely won’t be going back here for a bento box, maybe I’ll consider trying the rolls they offer… a BIG maybe.

The price for sushi is reasonable. My order of spicy baked scallop is only $ 7.99. But the one that tastes super good is the Super bowl, cost $ 6.99. It comes with baked chicken and beef with Teriyaki sauce. There are quite a bit of meat that we could not finish, so we asked the chef for some more rice. And The chef gave us extra rice and teriyaki sauce too.

Good quality sushi at a good price. They have generous portions and a great selection. The cashier/waitress was very nice. I’ve tried the Washington, Baked Lobster, and Crunchy Shrimp Tempura Rolls. Everything was fresh and tasty. I would definitely come back and recommend this place to friends!

The Washington Roll and Baked Salmon Roll were both BOMB. Generous portions at a good price. Service was fast and employee was friendly. Good for buying on the go. I would come back again to try other rolls.

This is my second time here and I once again got the Alaskan bowl. I really love the dressing that they put on the salmon, crab meat and salad. I actually really like that it comes with a bit of salad because it helps to counter the heaviness of the sauce. I ordered it with brown rice with was an extra eighty cents. I also got the shrimp tempura and gyoza side combo. The gyoza was deep fried and that surprised me. I had about a 30 minute drive before I got home and by that time, the gyoza and tempura were a little soft but the flavor was still very good. This is definitely a hole in the wall sort of restaurant that serves really great, fresh food. The food is not overpriced and is always well portioned. I really want to try their noodle soons the next time I come back. I’ve always tried their chicken teriyaki bowl(my boyfriend’s favorite) and I really like the chicken here. It is very tender and the sauce is very tasty. They have a large variety of rolls as well, all which are very good. I was very surprised by how small this place is the first time I came here. It was empty then but it was packed today. The service was still fast, which I really appreciated. Great place for lunch!

My favorite hole in the wall sushi restaurant! The place is tiny. There are only a few table for the dine in customers but you don’t really come here for the ambience. It’s more of a place to-go place or maybe to grab a quick bite on your lunch break. The food is good and priced fairly. The sushi tastes fresh and the portions are good, but I usually come for their beef udon. The parking is sorely lacking but then again outs not a place you hang out at. I wouldn’t bring a hot date here but it’s great for quell my sushi and udon craving.

Checked out this place for lunch since it’s nearby my office. I ordered the tempura udon and the salmon teriyaki bowl. Neither one of them is acceptable in terms of quality of the food. The udon taste like those cup noodles with udon and the yam is hard and not edible. The salmon teriyaki was just as bad. Not only it was burnt, the fish was no where near fresh, perhaps it’s been frozen since they got the freezer and it was tasteless even with the mediocre teriyaki sauce. I wish this place could be my lunch go to place, but they have a lot of improvement to do with their food and the food are way over priced for what you get.

I have found my new semi-local quick spot. My wife and I got: Short Ribs Chicken Teriyaki Plate Lobster Roll Tempura Roll I was shocked at the quality and speed of this place, considering that it was all made to order. We ordered online and by the time we got there it was ready for us. The flavor of all the food was consistently great, I couldn’t stop talking about it and telling people at work(who don’t even live in the area). The only downside for some will be the small dining room, which is all the same to us! Get takeout and go to a local park!

This place is delicious! I regret not coming sooner. I ordered the teriyaki chicken plate with brown rice and salad — so good! Everything from the salad dressing to the teriyaki sauce was very tasty. I was full but couldn’t stop eating and I enjoyed every bite. We also ordered a California roll, Washington roll, tiger roll and a ninja roll which were also delicious. Chicken teriyaki plate + 4 rolls + 1 drink=$ 38.00 I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 because of how incredibly tiny the restaurant is. The counter is about 5 feet away from the door. To the right of the counter is the seating area which consists of 4 – 6 tables that are seriously cramped together. It was a perfect 80° afternoon so we enjoyed our meal outside but they only have 3 little circular tables outside that are big enough for only 1 plate. I’m not 100% sure but, I don’t think I saw a restroom either. Would any of these factors prevent me from returning? NO! I’m definitely coming back — it’s already one of my favorites :).

Sometimes I like to pop into little hole-in-the-wall joints because they can offer incredibly delicious food and casual in-and-out service Sadly, this was not the case. I ordered a bento box which was presented with the saddest two inch square of salmon and soggy tempura. I paid extra to get spicy tuna rolls in lieu of the California rolls but they weren’t spicy,. Oddly enough they were sweet. I forget the name of the roll I ordered but it was not the one from the picture or decription and the udon was flavorless with a hodgepodge of veggies(who has ever had brocolli and carrot in udon?) Since this was a to-go order I could not send anything back. After the subpar meal we chucked the rest and made dinner at home. Fail.

I ordered some sushi rolls… One was a spicy tempura shrimp and the other was a baked spicy scallops roll. And they’re gone now. Yup, I ate them that quickly. Didn’t even have time to take a pic. Staff was sweet and attentive, and the wait for food was delightfully reasonable. My experience here was fantastic. Bombastic. Nom-nomtastic!!!

Once upon a time I was a huge fan of this place when it was called«Minkane Teriyaki House». I literally would go in at least 4 times a week just to eat there. Unfortunately this place is now owned by that woman’s brother(or husband, not sure). Ever since this place swapped ownership and chefs I have been coming here less and less. At Minkane Teriyaki House I usually ordered tofu tempura with a small side of vegetable chow mein and steamed rice and received a complimentary miso soup. I went back to samurai kitchen and asked for the same order and not only was it a tad bot more expensive it was poorly made. I was heart broken. The tempura was bland and super soggy and the tofu inside was not cooked nor warm. It was just awful. Since than, many friends have gone(since I practically lived there) and said the same, it was awful. Moving forward, another item I would get is a super or rose bowl which is beef chicken veggie bowl topped with tempura chips and a tempura shrimp on top with a side of a avocado roll. The bowls are the same just a bit overcooked but nothing to complain about. The avocado roll looked awful. The avocado itself was rubbery and tasted nothing like an avocado. I ended up just picking it out and eating the nori and rice. It wasn’t rolled neatly, looked completely sloppy and could use a lot of work. The price for these items were pretty decent roughly about a $ 8 meal so I guess I can’t complain too much once again… Heavy on the I guess… I go here about every once in a blue moon when I want a quick teriyaki fix but I no longer recommend this place to friends which is really heart breaking. The new staff and chef are sweet but lack a unique punch that drives a loyal customer to come back. I feel that they also lack good communication skills and can be very awkward at times. Overall, I just wish this location remained as Minkane Teriyaki House and had the same cook. Not only was she a sweetheart but made her plates with love and beautifully plated everything. I think it was a huge mistake for her to go and let a family member take over since the food is prepared in poor quality.
