Stopped in on our way back to AZ Saturday @ 1230 after a week on the island. Quick turn on fresh made sandwiches. Willing to sub and adjust any sandwich. We picked up some drinks, chips and candy for dessert. Paid and walked across the stree to a table by the fountains. I had the El Diablo with Jalapeños on sourdough. The sandwich is wrapped then cut in two. We planned to eat half the. Hit the road. There was plenty of tasty spiced up chicken filling until I got close to the end of the sandwich. The last inch was all bread. Good crunchy sourdough bread! Way more sandwich than subway. The wife had avocado bacon and turkey in a wrap. The silence while we ate told me she liked it. We’ll be back next year to pick up a few sandwiches on our way to a beach.

First time hearing or visiting the place, and I’ll be going back at least once a week. I ordered the California sandwich and it was one of the better subs I’ve ever had, and it didn’t cost much more than Subway.

Stopped by here to grab a sandwich for my wife prior to spending the day at the beach. I ordered her the chicken ciabatta and she loved it! Good prices, fast service, and very very good sandwich, per my wife!

Let me first say they could charge more for these sandwiches and I still will get them. Hands down the best hidden gem in Coronado. I mean there are other food places there that are good but for price and taste this place just beats it. A lot of people would be kinda of scarce to get food there because its a liquor store but honestly its so clean in there and the fresh cut their meats and everything. Just delicious go try.

When I told the bossman working the deli that I drove down from El Cajon to get one of his sandwiches and out the heat, I think he thought El Cajon was in Arizona and that I was a tourist. I ordered a ATC, an avocado, turkey and cheese sandwich which was a total joke. Though the price was nice, 6.99, the sandwich had only one thin slice of turkey and one of provolone which covered only about 2/3s of the bread, the avocado bits were few but to his credit, there was plenty of mustard and shredded iceburg lettuce, LoL. We’ve been enjoying Park Places sandwiches for a few years now but I think we’ll start pickin them up in the east county before we come down to eat and enjoy the afternoon coastal breezes.

10 and 20 year old Pappy Van Winkle, George T Stagg… I’m really not going to say anything more. This place made me weep… seriously. Where the hell is all the Pappy in S.A. It’s sitting in the Coronado liquor stores, that’s where!

I got the tuna sandwich with extra avocado and OHMYWORD… Giant potion, great quality tuna salad, yum. Going back for my second day in a row today.

I’ve been to Park Place twice, and both times for sammies at the deli. Without a doubt, they make an awesome sandwich! This week, I tried the Italian: the sandwich was several inches thick w/meats and cheeses, and complimented w/just the right amount of lettuce, tomato, onion and mayo. Bread was very fresh, too. The menu offers a couple dozen sammie styles to choose from, and the two ladies behind the counter were very friendly and moving fast to get the orders out. Please note that PPlace is more liquour store than it is deli, so your order will have to be TOGO, as there is no seating. Can’t wait to return! Cheers! RS

Me: «Can I get an Italian sandwich?» Guy: «sure, do you want everything on it?» Me: «Everything but onions and olives» Waited about maybe 5 minutes for the sandwich. Walked about another 10 minutes to the beach. Set up our beach day with a sandwich and an ice cold Coors. I open the sandwich and damn! The guy did put«everything he owned on it». It seemed like whatever he had left he stuffed it in our sandwich! We got the Italian which came with ham, salami and cheese. The sandwich literally was spilling out meat and veggies. We loved it because it was only about $ 7ish and we were able to split it in half. We ate every last lettuce to the very last salami spilling out into the sand. It was worth it, especially compared to all the expensive places in Coronado, this sandwich shop was located in a liquor store. Best combo for a cheap lunch or picnic on the beach!

The Diablo lives up to the other positive Unilocal reviews. I also like the California Wrap– when I want something a bit healthier. Either way, it’s a great sandwich spot for a take home or a beach picnic!

In the lovely town of Coronado, you’ll find this big liquor store with a deli inside! The hoagies are delicious and huge!(Do y’all call them hoagies in these parts?) The sandwiches. I allowed my friend to do the ordering so to ask me the name of it, I wouldn’t know. But it had the works. I said«Gimme all of it» when it came to toppings. Big meaty sandwich. Delicious. Took it with us to the beach. The store is big. Has everything from 40’s to Advil. Want an iphone charger? Got that too. Need a flask or a big goofy hat to share with your BFF? Check inside. It’s in the corner. What do you need? They got it. Sadly… well, I got a scratch-off ticket. Didn’t win anything. That’s my luck, not theirs. But the cashier was super cool about it. We planned out what we were going to do with my winnings. Maybe next time, chief. Maybe next time.

Love their Big Kahuna… Haven’t tried other subs but I’m willing to come back and try:) They close fairly early, wish they stayed open a little longer.

I ate here for the first time today and had the California Sandwich on sourdough. Sometimes delis go a bit overboard on one element of the sandwich(too much meat, onions, etc.), but this sandwich was well put together with a good combination of meat, veggies and condiments. The drink selection here is excellent. They carry an unusually large variety of juice, soda, wine, beer, liquor and even a decent selection of cigars. This is a good one stop shop before heading home for the day. The only downsides are that parking is a bit tough and prices are a bit high, but that comes with being in Coronado.

I can’t speak too much to the actual liquor store since I’ve never purchased liquor here but their prices seem about average. However, what I can review is the deli inside Park Place. The deli has a pretty wide selection of sandwiches that include hot and cold. Their hot sandwiches are delicious and my friends really love the El Diablo. I personally have had several of the other ones and can’t complain. Prices are pretty reasonable for what you get compared to the local area. Sandwiches are made after ordering so expect them to take about five minutes.

Sure, Liquor stores serve a purpose… You can pick up booze, cigarettes, porn. etc…but some of the best sandwiches ever, have been created in Liquor stores. No idea why, its just how this Universe works. Needed some quick food before heading to the beach, I got the El Diablo. Wow! Chicken, bacon, avocado, all laying atop of a bed of jalapenos and some awesome sauce. I must add that they also had an impressive amount of booze to choose from. I will never not come to Coronado without leaving myself time to take on another sandwich from Park Place Liquor.

Park Place Liquor is the little store that has everything. Full size liquor store and delicious deli food. They have a wide variety of breakfast items as well as a full selection of deli sandwiches for lunch. I have tried the Bacon & Egg McMuffin and it was made perfectly, tasted great and quite cheap even when compared to a McDonalds like fast food restaurant. This is one of those places I always try to make a stop at when we are in the area to grab a quick pick me up and a drink before walking and exploring the island. Keep up the good work and I will see you the next time we are in the area.
