If I could give 0 stars, I would. Wasn’t even worthy of a picture. KFC has better chicken and I HATEKFC. Piss poor customer service as well. Never going back and when I asked for a refund they acted as if I was robbing them blind! It’s my money and here’s your shitty food back. Don’t waste your time/money, it’s not worth the frustration.

I lived in Corpus for years and only tried this place a month before I moved away. I wanted to cry! I can’t believe I missed out all that time. Can you say fried jalapeños? The chicken portions were huge and seasoned perfectly. I have dreams about this place now. Come here for some GOOD Southern fried chicken. The atmosphere is cheap and hokey, don’t expect much in that department, though.

I walked in and was immediately helped and served very well. Polite staff and might I saw quick as can be! By the time I was done feeling my cup of sweet tea and sat down my food was being presented! A 3 piece Chicken strip very juicy and delicious, fries crisp and hot, a fresh roll, and empanada! Nothing better than sitting down and have your food ready and waiting!

Been eating Pete’s Chicken from this location for several years but never thought of Unilocaling it until today. Overall we probably buy more from this place than KFC, Popeyes, or Churches. We’ve got our fav items and not so favs. It’s just a fast food chicken joint so our expectations are appropriately adjusted. My Favs: Deep Fried Gizzards. There’s not many places left to get these delicacies. Thank goodness Pete’s does them right. This is my favorite item on the menu. Super crunchy, tender with just the right amount of chew, and very mild tasting. I do not like any organ meats! Yuck! But these gizzards drive me nuts! Chicken Tenders: real, whole breast tenderloin strips. Tender, juicy, flavorful with only a light battered. I love crunchy fried batter but not so much on tenders. Fried fish and their tartar sauce(yum)! This is some of the best fried fish in town WHEN they cook it right. They use a bread crumb style breading, and the seasoning is so good! It’s pricy and sometimes the pieces are small, but they use real fish fillets not compressed blocks of something white. The problem is that sometimes they cook it to death. My advice is if you get this to go, check it before you leave. They have fried shrimp too. They are large and tasty, not Kings Inn good, but way better than Boat & Net! Chicken fried steak. OK, it’s a frozen patty obviously by sight and taste, but there is actually a real steak inside there. And it’s huge. It’ll do in a pinch when I must have CFS! Fried chicken. Ok, well it is very good. Juicy and tender with a crunchy crust. If my husband is with me he insists they drop a fresh batch for us. He does this everywhere we go so they are used to him I guess. I’m mortified and try to hide but it doesn’t faze him a bit. Our chicken is always hot, moist, and delish. The problem is mine actually. I only eat white meat, and then usually only the wings and the skin/crust of the breast. I save the meat later for a sandwich. Makes no sense. I’ll eat tenders but will gag on breast meat on the bone. Sides: green beans cooked with bacon and onion. Try to get that at any other drive through! The other sides are all typical fast food blah. The gravy — white is bland and golden is chicken flavored but WAY too salty! It works with mashed potatoes because they are bland. Now leave me alone so I can eat these gizzards!

A bit of redemption since last visit. We’re usually pleased the the fry-fest that is Pete’s but last time was not as good as usual. Today we had fish and LOVED it. Really tasty stuff. AND, to our delight, the music blaring on the sound system wasn’t country! Still blasts you right outside the door though. Don’t get the reasoning for that.
