Sweet Lisa’s Exquisite Cakes

I hired Sweet Lisa’s to make a specialty cake for 90 guests for my husband’s 50^th surprise party. Not only did I want a delicious cake but a beautiful one. Sweet Lisa’s exceeded my expectations. I met with them to design a cake in the shape of a speedboat which is my husband’s hobby and passion. They showed me photos of some boat cakes they had made in the past, as well as other 3-​D cakes with similar designs. Without their ideas and contributions, the birthday cake would never have come out this detailed. It was exactly what I wanted. There were even miniature people representing my husband and me on the boat and our daughters tubing off the back of the boat just like in the photo I had shared with them! The caterer put the cake on display and so many of my guests commented on the detail of it. After the cake was served, I got so many positive comments about how delicious it was. Most of all, my husband was amazed and thrilled. I am so happy I used them for an event that was really important to me and would recommend them highly.

Sweet Lisa’s is amazing!!! Our tasting was relaxing and FUN. The cakes are absolutely delicious and beautifully decorated. Everything is very tasteful, classic and elegant– never overdone. All my wedding guests raved about how delicious the cake was! It was exactly what I hoped for! I would absolutely recommend Sweet Lisa’s!!!

I went to a sampling and Sweet Lisa’s cakes were my absolute favorite. Light with the perfect amount of taste, flavors perfectly balanced, not too heavy or sweet. Perfection and really beautiful cakes! It wasn’t for my wedding but if the boyfriend ever gets over his commitment phobia (though might take a miracle) I will be most likely ordering from here.

Do NOT bother!!! What a disappointment. My wife and I were married in Westchester, New York and were referred to Sweet Lisa’s for our wedding cake. We got to the shop for our tasting appointment. The business is run out of a house. When we arrived the shop was a little chaotic, a film crew was filming part of a reality show, no one seemed to care about our appointment had to wait a little too long before someone finally approached us.
We taste-​tested the cake samples we had ordered in advance and the samples were really only so so at best. The gentlemen who was assigned to take care of us was a little condescending explaining the cake options, also impatient and expected us to make a decision about a $ 1500 cake on the spot! No thanks, I think we will take our time. On top of all of this, we had to PAY for the cake samples, other cake shops do not do this! After poor experience at the shop with so so tasting samples, my wife and I ended up going with a cake shop in Westchester, NY called Lulus in Scarsdale. Lulu’s was awesome (see review), so glad we switched! Their samples were free and delicious and fresh and different. The wedding cake from Lulus on our wedding day was spectacular!!!

Sweet Lisa’s is my go to for cakes. They take their time in working with you no matter how wacky your ideas are AND they ALWAYS get it right. Not only do their cakes look good they taste AMAZING!!!

Their pastries are out-​of-​this-​world delicious! Been going to Sweet Lisa’s since they opened their first shop on Greenwich Ave. We’ve gotten kids’ birthday cakes, wedding & anniversary cakes… Occasionally, they’ve created elaborate show-​stopper that were beyond belief. Really mind-​blowing. Even their simple cakes are stunning.
That initial guilt cutting into the cake is short-​lived after the first bite, which is immediately followed by an auto-​response of «OMG!».
Lisa & her husband Steve work with a small crew of prof pastry chefs. All are phenomenal artists as well, which, in my view, make them outstanding.
I’ve told Lisa, when I take my last breath, I hope to savor her chocolate cake as my last earthly indulgence. What a way to go!

Ordered my first cake from Sweet Lisa’s for a family birthday. I would need to hire a poet to find the words to do justice to how moist and flavorful and wonderful the cake was. And then I would need another to describe the decorations. Now I am dreaming up all kinds of «occasions» so I have an excuse to order more cakes and try all the different flavors! And I hear the cookies are delicious, too. Excellent! Marvelous! Stupendous!

It was my sisters surprise 40^th and I wanted a really special cake. I did a ton of research online and found lisas. I went to look at the books and Lisa was wonderful. she never made me feel rushed, we came up with a great idea and it was a hit… I loved it! I would definately go again.

I worked with Sweet Lisa’s while I was planning my bosses wedding. They really had no idea what they wanted, but we made an appointment and visited Sweet Lisa’s after a very high recommendation. The couple that owns the shop were very nice and accommodating. They sat with us while we browsed their idea books and sample cake pictures. Finally the bride picked out a very different and original looking cake. The husband was excited to make it and we were excited as well.
On the day of the wedding the husband (Jon i think it is) came to the house to deliver the cake. He put the final touches on it, decorated with actual flowers and made sure it was brought out to the tent without anything happening.
Everyone loved the cake and we were so happy we went with Sweet Lisa’s. If you are looking for a drama free, delicious wedding experience look no further!

When planning my wedding, the first thing I wanted to nail down was the cake. It was the only part of the event that I had a clear idea about. I visited a few other bakeries to discuss cake ideas but they were all failures compared to Sweet Lisa’s. The location is so cute and the staff was super. Everyone I spoke with, including the owner and her husband (I think), was so considerate and helpful.
I brought in a picture, had a couple of tastings, and they created my dream. Everyone at the wedding was so impressed with the cake; even the pastry chef friends of mine loved it. I can’t wait to open up the last tier on my first anniversary.
We were so happy that we ordered another cake for my brother’s birthday.
