fast and really on point with my hair cut, really good job highly recommended :)

I walked in around 1pm on a Wednesday. There was only one woman working in the back and she called me over to sit in the «salon» section in the rear of the barber shop.
The woman who works there spent about 10 minutes talking to another woman who had visited the shop to ask for a small loan. They were speaking in Spanish. I look like a white guy but I speak Spanish. I wanted to walk out, but I really needed a haircut.
I really should have just walked out when I saw that there were no actual barbers working at the three barber chairs in the front of the shop.
I went here due to all the 5 star reviews for the barbers named Raul and Marcelo but they weren’t around.
Once my haircut finally started, she took 3 phone calls and spoke for a few minutes during each call. They sounded like personal calls, not other customers. During the last phone call she told the person that she had a client, which appeased my frustrations a little bit.
The haircut was fine except for my sideburns were lopsided with one side being longer by ¾ of an inch. I noticed it today when I was shaving.
So I would avoid this place unless you are specifically going for the barbers mentioned in other reviews.

I’m new to Cali and I’m very particular when it comes to who cuts my hair. I tried barber shops, salons, just couldn’t find someone I was happy with.
One day at work I asked one of the guys I work, with an excellent hair cut every time, who cuts your hair. He said Raul at Vista barber shop. Gave him a shot last month, just left today and I found my guy.
The other guy that cuts hair does an awesome job as well. Either way, whatever style, these are your guys. Check them out.

So after seeing the 5 stars rating and the fact that it wasn’t tagged as an expensive place I figured sure I’ll give it a try. Boy what a Royal mistake that was.
So this darker complexion latina girl (forgot to ask her name) became available almost immediately after I arrived there. She motioned me to come over to have a seat so she can cut my hair. So I proceeded to sit in her chair.
I explained to her how I wanted my hair cut. I also told her how I brush my hair and everything, to which she replied «Ok». So I said to myself «hmm cool she’s smart and picked up everything I said quickly».
First of all, she never allowed me to face the mirror so I couldn’t see what she was doing. Second, not only did she screw up my haircut but she murdered it. Third, she never said «sorry» not once. Instead, she got mad at me first; shit excuse me for complaining. How rude of me. Fifth, she had the nerve to tell Estella (manager or owner) that I told her to do all the screw-​ups she did with my hair. Shameless.
So anyway, Estella showed some concern and ended up not charging me.
In conclusion, if you do decide to get your hair cut there I suggest to stay as far away as possible from that latina girl or else be ready to be potentially murdered, well your haircut that is.
One star for the very short wait and one star for Estella showing some concern and apologizing on behalf of my haircut murderer.

Dalila does an amazing job on all my brother and family! Definitely recommended, she has been a licensed for 21 years & still keeps all her hair cuts super clean!

WOW, I was recommended here by a coworker. I am always nervous about going to a new place for a haircut, but I had moved over 30 minutes away from my previous place. Walked in and was immediately greeted by Marlo. He sat me down and asked what I wanted. He took his time and was extremely detailed. I was shocked by the amount of attention he put into the haircut and his readiness to change what I didn’t like. Marlo will certainly be my new barber.

Went in and Marlo helped me. He’s so nice and I honestly got the best haircut here. I never visited a barber shop before. I always went to Salons but this is by far the best men’s haircut place. Marlo was very easy to talk to and genuine. Thanks for the haircut!

Raul did a great job on my hair. He listened to what I wanted and nailed it. I’ve found my new barber!

Been coming here for 2 years. Raul always cuts my hair and does a great job everytime! Staff is very friendly, store is always clean, and they usually have the sports channel up.

I’ve been coming over here, Estella takes care of my hair, Marcelo or Raul cuts my husbands hair, this place is one of oldest, perhaps the oldest barber shop in Costa Mesa. The place has been remodeled, the ambiance is relaxed, friendly, clean and there is always a good conversation going on with patrons, in my opinion this the best barber shop/​beauty hair salon in Costa Mesa.
