UPDATE… UPDATE…6/27/2015
Terry’s bike hous has opened in a temporary location as of 6÷25÷15, one block west of their store. Its the the building across from Wendy. s, on the corner of 6^th Ave. & 55^th Street. Terry’s is having a CLEARANCE SALE!
I spoke with Terry today and he asked to spread the word on social media, friends and everyone that is interested in bikes. They need the business, so stop in and tell your friends.

UPDATE 03÷19÷15: Terry’s is back open. They are operating out of the workshop in the back as they continue to rebuild. They don’t currently have much stock, as they don’t have a ton of space, but they are still all kind and patient when a seven year old is picking out his bike. Though it’s a makeshift showroom, we found a great bike and my son is happy. It’s also feels good to support Terry and crew as they continue to rebuild.
Temporarily Closed: I’ve purchased bikes here before and packed up the kids yesterday to go buy a bike. Well, it appears that they’ve had a massive fire and the store is currently closed. The signs out front say that they’ll be back open in Spring of 2015.

My family are all serious bikers, and we’ve been going to Terry’s for years, which is the only reason they’re getting two stars instead of one. (Well, not the only reason – I love the dog.) It used to be a good place, and still has a wide selection of bikes and accessories. But none of that’s really worth it when the staff is so unforgivably rude. We came in to get a bicycle seat and asked to try one out. We were told, with much attitude, that «I don’t have all day to let you keep trying one seat after another.» Hmm, that’s funny, we only asked to try one. And by the way, I’ve been to bike stores all over the world, and I’ve never had a problem trying multiple bikes or seats – real cyclists are well aware that if your seat isn’t comfortable, well, let’s just say you won’t be a happy customer. Note to Terry’s: the brat with the hardware in his ears? He’s an a**hole, and he’s driving away your longtime customers. I don’t know if he’s an anomaly, or if all the staff is that rude. But I won’t be coming back to find out. The world is full of places to get bicycles and parts. No reason to give your hard-​earned money to jerks.

I’ve been here a bunch of times for parts and always leave satisfied. Good prices and the staff is always very helpful. They have TONS of bicycles as well as accessories and if they dont have what you need in store they can more than likely get it for you.

Stopped in at Terry’s today just to browse around. I have bought two bike from him in the past, a Schwinn Stingray and a Schwinn Corvette. Great prices and great service. Looking for a cruiser today and maybe a new BMX bike for the boy. He has a ton of bikes in stock! Always a pleasure to see Turbo (his Doberman) hanging in the showroom, she is a sweetheart! Will be back in the spring to buy!

Needed son’s bike fixed. They quoted one price, and then another, and then another, as my bike was held hostage. In the end. the price was over 50% more than originally quoted and was not consulted. Can you say bait and switch? Get the price in WRITING… tho I did and it did not help.

My husband and I came here last night around 7 and they had a bunch of bikes outside so we started to look at them. Within minutes, Mike came out to help us. He was really honest and knowledgeable about everything. He seemed a little on edge since he made it clear that they were closing soon (1 hour) but he never made it seem like we were a burden… maybe he had a long day.
They would have to special order a bike for my husband since he is so tall and they only keep a certain number of bikes on hand. Also, if you buy a bike from them they give a free maintenance season check-​up (normally $ 70) and they throw in the kickstand (about $ 10).
We haven’t bought a bike from them — yet, but we’d probably be back to purchase.
