Just had a really bad dinner at Casa Moreno. Watched other customers served before us… Since apparently our waitress didn’t know who she was assigned to. Got a total of 5 shrimp in my shrimp cocktail. My husband ordered fish tacos… But got something that looked like chicken and tasted like chicken… But according to the manager it was fish. Plus my wine glass was huge… But seriously I got three sips! We are regular customers and usually enjoy our Friday nights dinner at Casa Moreno. Usually order pretty much the same dinner. Sadly I think Casa Moreno is cutting corners on service as well as food.

Here on Saturday I had the Chicken enchiladas with sour cream and chorizo they were delicious. My wife had the wet burrito which was also really good. Everyone here was very friendly and helpful. The entertainment was so good. A young man with a guitar and a young lady with the voice of an angel that made our dinner even more special. We will definitely be back.

The owner was bartender, beer was ice cold. Food was good. But the highlight was the entertainment! ! Those girls could all sing and play instruments. Thoroughly enjoyed my experience! ! :’)

As a follow up to a previous review This place has now become our go to place on our Friday Date Night. The music is very good but can be loud if you sit inside. Outside dining has heaters when its cold and the passing traffic and people keep it interesting. Our waitress is usually Joslyn and she has been outstanding.

This place has delicious food and they also do take out, which is totally a plus! The food is ready in a decent amount of time, even for the larger orders. Sometimes, when I get my food there are missing items that come with the meal, like tortillas. Other than that, I have no complaint! The bar tender girl, I don’t know her name, is super friendly and smiles! She’s been there for a while! I’ve spoken to her a few times and she said she’s been working there for a long time. I wish I could tell you a name. Anyway, she is great! Everyone is helpful and friendly even in busy nights.

I just hosted my 30th birthday dinner on Saturday & would like to say that it was truly a welcoming and great experience with my 25+ party! The acoustic performance & singer who announced my celebration made me feel so special in front of the entire restaurant as she sang«Happy Birthday» To me. She sang songs that were nice & appropriate for our dinner! My guests all enjoyed themselves and complimented that the mole was delicious! Thank you very much for making my birthday dinner memorable! I truly felt special & your staff/waitress were very patient with me & my party.

Saturday early afternoon, bit of a slow day, but sure to pick up… Service is attentive, they all assist each other, and each other’s table’s with a smile. Late breakfast(eggs rancheros) was great fresh ingredients. I was happy to see a side of fresh diced potatoes the tomatoes cheese and all were fresh and hot, beans were great as well. I’ll be back(terminator voice)

Wasn’t really impressed by the food at all. It was too bland and didn’t have much flavor. Chips are made fresh and salsa was kind of pasty. Horchata was really good. Service was good too.

There is a nice bar to sit in this restaurant. I always like sitting at a bar. The carnitas were good, but kinda a lot of fat pieces in it. The refried beans were thick and tasty. I had watery, soupy refried beans. They have a varied menu, and I noticed a few things that you don’t always see on the menu in all the other typical Mexican-American restaurants around here like calabacitas entrée for vegetarians, mixiotes, alambres, and a nice salad selection. The bartender was patient with us when we stayed too late and realized the place was closed.

Ever been at a Mexican restaurant where you weren’t immediately served chips and salsa? Yeah, me either. Till today. Apparently, if you sit at the bar here, chips and salsa are not provided(even though the two couples next to me were happily munching away on theirs). Long story short: they treated me like a moron and non-customer because I sat at the bar and didn’t order alcohol first thing. Listen here, idiots! I sat at the bar because I was by myself. I was doing you a bloody favor by not taking up an entire table, but I was still planning to order some of your overpriced and not that tasty food(been here a few times before – never impressed). In fact, I did order a $ 10 bowl of soup but walked out after one bartender rudely explained the«rules» to me.

Love Casa Moreno! Fajitas are the best! Very flavorful and you get a good amount. Hubby likes the Casa Margaritas-BEST MARGARITAINTOWN! Drinks are very good, food is very good and the servers are courteous, always smiling. We also enjoy breakfast here on the weekends. I’m very picky about my menudo-this is the ONLY place I will eat it. Menudo is clean and flavorful. The chilla quillas are awesome! Thanks Casa!

Some of the food could’ve used salt. And their overpriced horchata is not that great, but the overall attitude, cleanliness, timing, and services was great! I would definitely come back during the day time with my family. Night time seems more for adults.

Casa Moreno is a vacation experience here at home. Authentic Mexican cuisine that taste like someone’s Nana is cooking in the next room. Flour tortilla tostadas are fairly common, I ordered one that was better than any I can remember, DELICIOUS! My girlfriend ordered chicken enchiladas that were decadently flavorful. Margarita on the rocks no salt, tastes like being on vacation here at home. Wait staff was cordial and on-the-spot. We were so happy to have such a positive experience on our first visit. The entertainment was amazing once again like being on vacation in Mexico here at home. These young ladies(Grupo Bella) were the icing on the cake awesome music and vocals. All-in-all a great experience. We will be coming back for more! Thank you Casa Moreno!

Happy hour with the girls on a weekday. but not so happy. no happy hour price on drinks or food… disappointed! Food– we ordered appetizers– most food items are pricy… *Nachos– tasted ok not much meat in it *Guacamole —(portion too small) *Shrimp cocktail — very small shrimps with cucumbers in heavy tomato based sauce, price too high for the portion, it’s like a cup. Drinks– *Casa Moreno Margarita — over rated! tasted some alcohol in it but mostly syrupy sweet… for over 10 dollars. not impressed. *Regular Margarita — plain, not much to it. not excited at all. we ended up spending over $ 80 for 4 drinks and 3 simple appetizers, too expensive! We could’ve gotten nice meals somewhere else. or a real Happy Hour in most other places. we won’t be coming back again. My opinion ~ Neither the taste nor the portions of the food or drinks are on par with the price they charge here :(

I really love this place!!! Been coming here for a long time! The guacamole is outstanding. My fave plates are the green enchiladas, tres amigos, tilapia and wine sauce, and the chicken and rice soup! In the heart of down town Covina and always packed. Martha R. Is an awesome waitress, she is always fast and helpful.

This is the least Mexican restaurant in the planet, food is super bland :( Had a chile relleno and beef enchilada(house special) and I was too dissapointed. The salsa they used for the enchiladas reminded me of pasta, and the chills relleno was beautifully made but it lacked any serious flavor. Won’t be coming here again(good chips and salsa thou).

Drove by this place many times and decided to give this place a try. Located in downtown Covina. Restaurant has nice décor with overpriced Mexican food. SERVICE: could be better. Our waitress never offered refills, we literally had to flag her down and it took a while for her to come back with the refills. FOOD: chips and salsa were good. Chips were tiny triangles and the salsa was spicy! Camarones al mojo de ajo(rice, shrimp with garlic sauce, veggies) and Shrimp enchiladas(beans, rice, shrimp enchiladas) – were ok, nothing spectacular, I’ve had better. Give this place a try. I don’t think I would come back for their food.
