I wanted to try this place so we came but it could have been a whole lot better than it was. First off they are still playing Christmas music and were in March. Second there’s hot sauce on all the tables but I’m here for Italian food. There was only one other customer here when we walked in and they soon left so we are the only table seated. Service is really slow, I’m waiting for the check to be taken but the woman went in the back and has no reappeared. The foods not horrible but it’s nothing to rave about either. The salads we’re skimpy and the main course we’re alright, the eggplant was good but the fettuccine was really thin and sadly the noodles were under cooked and tough and the chicken totally over cooked and dry as dust and the side of spaghetti was really poor. Every thing seems beat up and run down the cheese shakers and salt and peppers the lids are dented. No appetizers or dessert offered. Over all I say don’t come but go to Fonda Don Chon instead.

I love this place so much! My family has been coming here for about 14 years and when I say it hasn’t changed that’s a GOOD thing. Ester is the best, she’s so sweet. We love the comfy atmosphere and food is Amazing! Seriously, it’s authentic Italian food made the way your Family makes it if your Italian that is. Come here for lunch for their lunch specials or if your stopping by later for dinner I personally recommend the Palermo Specialty Spaghetti. No need for me to go into details or post a picture, just go and try it out. My fiancé loves the Gnocci. My sister loves the lasagne. And for the icing on the cake order yourself some of the garlic knotts FORGETIT! Game over! We love this place and no lie or BS so will you. So go, now…

You go to this place for the food! Everything here is homemade, meaning it’s made/cooked in their kitchen. The Eggplant Parmesan is my favorite. The Grilled Chicken Salad will blow your mind. Their pizza’s ROCK! FYI — You can order your pizza with either regular, thin or Sicilian crust. The lasagna is super good too. Their meatballs kick ass. And then, there’s their famous Garlic Knots!!! Soooo good. And you can’t beat the prices for the quality of the food. They don’t serve alcohol, and you can still bring in your own wine or beer for a $ 3 flat corking fee. The décor is straight out of any neighborhood Italian restaurant from the ’50’s or ’60’s. So if you don’t like the ambiance and décor, order your food to go. Be warned that your meal is made fresh, so you won’t get for food for usually 15 – 20 minutes if it’s something baked like the Lasagna or Eggplant Parmesan. Trust me, it’s worth the wait. There are so many other dishes I want to try, however, it’s so hard for me to break away from my favorites.

Very tasty and fair prices for serving size. The Garlic Knots are awesome! We had to order more they were so tasty. I plan on coming back to try the pizza which seems pretty popular for the carry-out crowd. Will be bringing a nice bottle of wine with us since they don’t have it but let you bring your own for a small corking fee

I’ve been on a search for cheap and delicious Italian for a while. Search over. Tried it last night. I had the spaghetti with meat sauce and my husband had the lasagna. Of course we had the garlic knots(two orders because they are so so so good). Pros: the bill for two people was $ 25 bucks(he had a diet coke I had water) Portion sizes are great(not huge not tiny)
Cons: NOWINE! They have a corkage fee of $ 3.50 and next time we are bringing our own bottle. Wish I had known this. No Tiramisu. They only have ice cream for dessert. There is a sign that says $ 1 fee for using credit card. Don’t like this, but with prices so low the cash in your pocket should be enough :) But the prices and yumminess is enough to make me come back, with a bottle of wine in hand of course.

Casual, intimate ambiance. Great spaghetti sauce; lemony like I like it! Their«garlic knots»(version of mini garlic bread rolls) are outtasight! Better to eat there than calling in a takeout order(not real personable on the phone).

I just tried using a gift certificate I got from a co– worker and they wouldn’t take it. They asked how old my gift certificate was i said 2 years and they said it was too old. Yes it was about 2 years old but with some research I learned that in the state of California gift cards and gift certificates do not expire. So I called them back and told them what I have learned and they still did not want to satisfy their customer. In fact, they argued with me which is very bad service. My whole dental office and I are regular customers and spend lots of money there and this is how they treat a regular. My whole office and I will not be going back there. They just lost alot of regulars.

One of the best pizza’s I’ve had, meat ball sub is probably the best I’ve ever had. Employees are nice, the owner reminds me of my mom she is so sweet and nice. I don’t understand the people that are writing the bad reviews maybe they caught them on a bad day but the place is bomb. Give it a try: ]

OK so first off there food is bland. There is absolutely no flavor what so ever. 2) there tomato sauce tastes like it came from a can, and not the good kind. 3) Their special tastes like Chinese food, bad Chinese food. 4) The costoner service is horrible! The whole time out waitress seemed like she didn’t care at all, and that she was trying to get us out asap even though there was no wait. 5) The atmosphere of this place was totally depressing. Don’t come here, go to the Chinese, Mexican, or BBQ places.

This place is excellent! It’s a little basic«hole in the wall» serving tasty and amazing homemade Italian food. The garlic knots are to die for!!! The lasagna was very tasty and the garlic oil on rigatoni took the prize. The prices are great. Overall it was a wonderful experience.

Honestly hands down the best italian restaurant I’ve been to. My family and I come here all the time, and we always order the antipasta salad and the spaghetti. Yes it takes a while, but thats when you know everything is fresh and homemade. The female waiter is always so nice when we come in, if you’re looking for a great place in covina, go to Palermo!

4 of us wanted to go to a new restaurant. Our friend picked this one on Shoppers lane in Covina. This restaurant is just off Rowland, Near Citrus. North of the 10 Fwy. The 4 of us had the Spaghetti with Italian Sausage Dinner with Salad and Garlic Knots(bread). good food for $ 10 each. Restroom is in the rear of the kitchen(Sorry not ADA-No rails) They also serve Pizza. Come early like 5 pm. any later its SRO(Standing Room Only) This place is small and not fast food. Parking on the street or in a small parting lot. Look for large white sign w/red letters-«-Italian Restaurant-Pizza»

Having ordered catering from them before, I ordered 5 small trays of main dishes for my Christmas dinner. Didn’t check under the foil covers until I was ready to heat them up.Two of the dishes were alright but the eggplant, ravioli and lasagna barely filled a third of their trays. The lasagna was only 1−½″ high. Their decision to give me such small portions made us have to get chicken and sausage out of the freezer in order to have enough food. Our dinner was very late and just ruined because of Palermo’s. I had ordered these items before and the trays had the amount they should have. I can’t believe they chose Christmas to cheat their customers. I would never deal with these people again.

It’s a waiting game with this place, but the wait is so worth it. The food is steaming hot, and so flavorful. LOVE the Palermos Specialty. So full-filling, so delicious. Best veggie/pasta plate EVER!

When I call to place and order and you discourage me from doing so by stating«your pizza is going to take more than an hour!» Now tell me why on Gods green earth wud I wanna wait that long for a pie!!! Get it together Palermos, I’m heartbroken, I was told that this was a great place to eat but I guess I’ll never know!!! Sincerely, Potential customer for life!!!

I’ve had their lasagna a couple of times now, and its great. The garlic knots that you constantly see mentioned? Believe the hype, they really are that good. Fresh, hot, savory and addictive. Now I need to go back for their pizza. Between Fonda Don Chon, House of Benny and Palermo, Shopper’s Lane has become quite the lunch spot here in Covina.

Service was only so, so. You pretty much seat yourself and wait until someone finally comes to your table. I would say waiting for the food was average time. Once the food arrived, the Garlic bread was really good, fresh, just had too much pepper but was still enjoyable. The lasagna, pizza were pretty good except for the chicken fettuccini. The chicken was good but the Alfredo was bland. It seems that they do tomato sauces much better. Overall the food was good, totally a mom & pop small place. I would definitely go back just not at the top of my list, a bit pricy.
