Went down to Covington for the Antiques Bazaar and stopped into Cock and Bull Public House to grab a bite to eat. It was a very busy day, so we sat at the bar. We both had a beer, Braxton’s, a local brewery. Great beer selection. I got the fish, fried cod if I remember correctly. It was delicious. My husband hates fish therefore I don’t cook fish at home, so this was a treat. Would absolutely go back just for the fish — it was that good. Highly recommended if you want some fish and chips and a good beer.

Great and friendly service by the bartender! We had pretzels and beer, but didn’t order a meal. Looks like a great place for beer lovers as they had probably 30 beers on tap.

Had dinner for our friend’s birthday on a Saturday night. It was a first time for most of us. I kind of anticipated more of a restaurant atmosphere and not a bar type place. The place was pretty crowded but we managed to get our party of 4 in under 5 minutes — score! A ton of beer selections — menu is limited, which I enjoy. Going in, I knew what I wanted… fish’n’chips, of course!(The lightweight version). I can’t say that I was a fan of the hectic dining experience but the fish was awesome! Loved the light crispy outside and flaky, mild inside. Even the non-frisch’s tartar sauce was good(plus, I loaded on the malt vinegar) Service started off strong then our server seemed to get lost for long periods of time. Even though the fish was really delicious, I don’t know that I’ll have to go back — eating in chaos is a major downside for me.

Good selection of beers! Nice environment on Friday night We had chicken nachos and it always are good. Today at Covington was Ladies nights from 6−10pm. Tables were full but we got a space at bar and service was good as well.

We have been coming to this place for years. Nice pub atmosphere and this was one of the first to really offer the large craft beer selections that are now common at other establishments. I stick to the burgers or fish and chips but have seen others order wraps and Reuben’s and everything always looks good. Not high class dining but great place for a burger and craft beer and prices are reasonable.

I love this place! I’ve been coming here for the past few years and the service is always great and the food is outstanding. The fish and chips are fantastic. They have a great beer selection and you can’t beat the Nachos for the price. Sit outside if the weather is nice!

Stopped in on our way through town while on a road trip. Fast, friendly service. We were in and out within a half hr. Great food, and a good beer selection. Would recommend the pretzels!

I stopped in to grab a drink while waiting for a table at a nearby restaurant. My friend and I sat at one of their outdoor tables, which offered a great opportunity to watch Covington go by. Their draft beer list included a nice mix of beer styles from breweries large and small, local and national. The waitstaff was a little inattentive, as we eventually had to go inside to the bar to get our check when it was time to go, but overall, the experience was pleasant. I will definitely be back.

Had a great meal, half pound buffalo bugger and house made chips. The burger was cooked medium rare. The burger was awesome and the selection of micro brews on tap were great. Be from Colorado I was amazed at the variety. Really enjoyed the bourbon beer, though I wish you could get it in a 16 Oz glass. Only available in a 10 oz. Wait staff was very nice and enjoyed sitting outside by the fountain. They had live music which made it very pleasant.

As many times as I’ve visited Covington, KY I’ve never stopped in to the«Cock and Bull Public House.» On a recent visit we decided to give it a go and were we all extremely pleased! For a smaller establishment the menu was full of selections to make anyone’s mouth water. The beer selection was out of this world — we had crab cakes, cod sandwiches, chicken tenders and side items between the four of us and everything was sensational! The employees were so pleasant and friendly; the atmosphere was so comfortable and the location was spot on! We chose the«Braxton Dead Blow» — a Foreign Stout beer that was superb — we had to order another! I would definitely recommend this local pub/eatery for anyone that finds themselves in the Covington, KY Main Strasse Village area of Northern Kentucky; and we will definitely be back soon!

I had no idea that there was a Cock and Bull in Covington, let alone that you can sit on the awesome square out front and receive full service there. That alone was worth four stars to me! I didn’t eat here, but I was with a big group and we received plenty of attentive service throughout the evening. Beers and menu are the same as the Hyde Park location, so lots of beers to choose from at varying price points, food is british inspired pub fare. But overall, a really nice place to sit outside and relax with even a big group.

Beer selection was great and it resembled a beer hall in Northern Europe. The food was a lot better than I expected. They had a great burger paired with a pretzel bun which is always a fan favorite.

The crab cakes and the onion soup were great. The fish was ok, and the pub chips were great. I’d definitely come back, but probably wouldn’t go out of my way to do it. The service was good for how crowded the place was. I gotta give them credit for that. :)

Went here on recommendation from hotel. We were a party of 8 and they were busy. Our waitress and service were awesome. The food was great too. Generous portions and good price. The pretzel dessert wasn’t as good as it sounded. Would try the bread pudding next time. Definitely recommend.

Ok the outside seating is nice. However you better hope you sit in an area that is covered by a good sever. I’ve been here several times now and have waited over ten minutes before someone has greeted me. What’s even more annoying is you can see several servers stood at the hostess stand and because you are not in their area they will do nothing! Now to the food. Considering this is suppose to be a American /British pub and I have recently moved here from the UK I was looking forward to a bit of Brit food I was missing. The only really thing I have seen on the menu that is truly British is the fish and chips which is ok tasting. The burgers are quite nice but are very greasy. I also find many other items to be very salty but I’ve been told that is normal. The only redeeming is a bar with a good selection of beers which I have enjoyed.

Covington location is better than the one in Hyde Park, despite its smaller size. Service is good, friendly, food is bland, overly greasy and not worth the price you pay. Large selection of beers and a relatively family friendly atmosphere, although it seems to be mostly adult oriented seeing as it is a bar.

The olé’ Cock n’ Bull in Mainstrasse. Love the rustic building in Northern Kentucky’s old German ‘hood. This place just has that classic hole-in-the-wall bar feel I yearn for. Definitely more of a bar than a restaurant. I love the taps, maybe not as many as the one in Hyde Park, but that’s still the allure of Cock and Bull. However, the highlights end there. It’s not so much the slightly awkward back to the glass bar, but moreso the food. These places just have criminally bad food. Banger dip is maybe the saving grace since they’re still using bangers in it, but as far as the rest of the menu goes, it’s a short porch. The last time I came here for lunch I got the Featherweight Fish and Chips and even that was way too much. Not because I wasn’t hungry, but because they were just not good. I think they tried to cook the fish too quickly. It was near burnt on the exterior, but not fully cooked on the interior. I could see the under-cooked parts and tried to eat around them, but alas, you just can’t work around poorly cooked fish like you can with a burger. So, that said, um… the staff is friendly.

We stopped on here after a Reds game. Nice beer selection, Smithwicks on tap is always good. The Bavarian pretzel app was half price for happy hour and was very tasty if not pretzel shaped. I got the fish and chips. The fish was very tasty and flaky as it should be, but the breeding was a bit heavy for my taste. The chips(French fries) had some breaking on them which was also a bit heavy for me, but it was not bad at all by any means — just not the fish and chips I get at the Yorkshire Fisheries Chippy in Salisbury while visiting Stonehenge. My house salad was very good, a variety of very fresh greens. My wife ordered the onion soup which was superb as was her sandwich which had bacon and apple. This is a good choice for a few beers and a pub meal. The service is top notch.
