This is a nice little diner. The entire inside is decorated in Elvis/Marilyn motif. The food is ok. The specials are hit or miss. The Pot Pie was amazing, the Taco salad was so-so. Oddly, they do not have a kids’ menu. When we inquired about it the owner told us a few things they could make, and then we were charged for meals and drinks for the kids by our waitress(drinks should have been included). The owner caught the mistake when she happened to ring us out and rectified the situation. One plus, this is right across the street from Braxton Brewery, so if you manage to visit when they are both open, this is a good choice for a quick meal.

I loved Rima’s in her old location and now even more in her new location. Always a classy atmosphere and good basic Diner food.

We visited Rima’s for lunch after arriving in Covington for a weekend getaway. The service was great, and the food hit the spot. A great menu and location! Will definitely return on our next trip in the fall.

Do not order the ribeye ! It must have been bull meat — very tough. Couldn’t eat it but my dog loved it ! The green beans are out of a can as well. Didn’t see much«home cooking«as advertised. My date had chicken and dumplings which looked like it was cooked at GFS. Very disappointed.

Everything we had was great — service, food, & especially the lemon pie! We will definitely be back!

What we had: a cheeseburger and a club sandwhich. This place is extremely clean, and I say this after years spent working in restaurants. The décor is absolutely charming. Foodwise… it seemed like generic diner food. I was ok with my cheeseburger, my fiancée thought his club was slimy with mushy bread. The fries were meh. That said, the service was wonderful, quick, and friendly. We were in and out in a speedy fashion which is what we were after.

So as soon as I saw Elvis pictured on the menus as well as all over the walls, I knew I was in a good spot. I am not much a fan of diner food, but this was kind of a step above. No fresh fruit on the menu but a bunch of fresh veggies and the potatoes weren’t greasy they were just REALLY cooked well! The menu wasn’t extensive but it had several good options. I ordered the veggie omelet and my husband ordered something with meat and cheese. We both left happy. This was the perfect spot to stop in for a quick bite.

Rima’s is one step up from a greasy spoon. I’m not sure it can call itself a diner. I would consider it more of a café. Anyway — we stopped in for breakfast last Saturday. They have a limited menu so don’t come expecting a brunch or anything here. It’s pretty much just the standards. In fact, most people at our table ordered«The Usual» which was two eggs, hash browns, toast, and meat. I opted for«The Madison» which was sausage gravy over two biscuits, topped with eggs and cheese and comes with a side of potatoes. I asked before ordering if the gravy was home made and he assured me it was. He did tell me the biscuits were Pillsbury though. Craving some home mage gravy I went ahead and ordered. Womp womp. This was not home made gravy. The sausage in it tasted and looked like those frozen links you find already cooked that you warm up in water. The taste was bland, bland and more BLAND. Not to mention everyone at our table had hard, stale biscuits. My biscuits were so hard I couldn’t cut them with my fork even when the gravy had soaked into them. I left the majority of the meal and just ate my eggs on top and the side of potatoes which were pleasant. Overall this was one of those experiences when you leave and feel completely unsatisfied. Apparently they have good lunch options — so maybe don’t rule Rima’s out completely just yet, but definitely skip breakfast here. I’ve had better breakfasts at Frisch’s.

I’m a big fan. We had lunch on a weekday after new year’s and were the only customers. The service was great and attentive but the food won the show. Everything we had was excellent and exceeded expectations. The Chicken Pot Pie was great. The Chicken Fried Chicken was great. The Mashed Potatoes were great. Even the Dinner Rolls were surprisingly great! I would recommend Rima’s to friends.

I had the catfish and had it spicy grilled. It’s the second time I’ve gotten a fish blackened at Rima’s and I truly don’t think the cook knows what he/she’s doing. It came out looking slightly undercooked and my lunch partner had a burger. I ate my food and it was okay. The service was great but here’s where it went way south. That night, I went to bed with severe chills and nausea. I woke up the next morning with a high grade fever diarrhea and severe muscle pain. I’m now on day three of what my doctor said was severe food poisoning which usually takes place 12 hours after a meal. I hope this message is warning to the owners that they need better cooking practices. They have such great service but the horrific symptoms I’ve had for three days should be a wake up call.

This restaurant is a bright spot in the Covington neighborhood. The fried pickles were perfect, top sirloin flavorful, and had I saved room, the desserts looked wonderful. Definitely going to be back soon.

We ate here for the first time, for lunch on a Monday. The restaurant was bigger than I expected, and seemed very clean and had lots of natural light coming in the windows. We loved the 50’s décor: photos of Elvis, Marilyn, Robert Redford, etc., art deco style tables, etc. Our waiter was pleasant and did a nice job, no complaints. The prices here are very reasonable! I ordered the grilled grouper and it was very good. My friend got a quesadea that looked great and was a large portion, and was very good. I would love to see on the menu something classy like a beet salad on arugula or spring greens, with nuts of some sort, and their raspberry vinaigrette. They have a large dessert case full of their home made huge desserts, so we split a piece of the red velvet cake; it was great! We liked our experience here so much that we are going to schedule our women’s group dinner here in the future. The staff said they’d be happy to arrange the tables the way we would like — to just give them notice to have enough staff that day. We parked in the large metered lot across 7th street. They have a menu on their facebook page.

This was our first visit and certainly will not be the last! If you like comfort food, this is the place to go. We had the Chicken Fried Chicken with white gravy. The chicken was juicy and tender. The gravy was creamy and delicious. The fried potatoes with onions were crispy. The side salads included carrots, cheese, tomatoes, and croutons.(not just a bowl of lettuce). And the homemade coconut cream pie was the best we have ever had!!! The prices are very reasonable. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive. We’ll be back!

I have been here a couple of times. The soups have been really good! I’ve had the Lentil soup and the Chicken Noodle soup. I had the turkey sandwich and it was quite tasty. I also got the home fries once, they were a bit overdone and not so great. Service has been outstanding. Waitresses are very friendly and made sure my glass is never empty, even when they are busy. Definitely recommend this place.

I do enjoy the comfort I feel when I come into Rima’s. Our waitress was Joanna and she was just so personable and friendly. I had the Madison Burger on my visit and it was just delightful. Hopefully once word of mouth spreads that this place is back more people will come and experience it.
