East Wok

Good solid Chinese food. There are a lot of options around town but I think we have settled on this one being the best. Not particularly unique but delivery was fast and exactly what we expected. Good value.

Pretty good Chinese-​takeout, it is pretty much takeout only. We order the vey sweet Chinese spareribs, sweet and sour chicken all the time. They are very fast and very nice people. They have your pretty standard fair Chinese takeout food and in addition they have Thai food.

Vegetarian food is uncooked and does not taste good at all. Never getting food from this place again!

DON’T ORDER FROM HERE! we placed an order thought EAT 24 and they double charged us and now say that they won’t reimburse us and they don’t see any charges. I’m not paying for food twice!!!

This is our new go to place for take out. I order the Beef Pad Thai, a little dry, not enough tofu or lime sauce even if I ask them every time I order to add extra tofu and sauce. It is still good. Hubby gets the Pork Lo Mein and it’s tasty. The General Tso’s is the typical over sauced and overly sweet chicken we’d get any where else. The wonton soup, egg rolls and sweet and sour chicken are tasty. The best thing on their menu for me is the Thai Chicken Egg Rolls with basil (2 for $ 3.75)! They are so tasty and the spicy dipping sauce that comes with them is addictive. I could make a meal out of them alone. The other best tasting dish is the House Special Chow Fun (no scallions or green peppers for me). It is so good, you can’t stop eating it and it is a huge portion.
FYI: We will never ever order from Hunan Wok again. We have had too many issues every time we order from Hunan Wok and the last time 4 months ago, we found hair in 3 of our dishes from Hunan Wok! I can’t ever order from them again.
We stopped ordering from 1 Walnut because when we ordered they said, «next time you pay cash, ok?». What? It got annoying after the second time. They accept credit cards, I didn’t have cash, the order was $ 50, well over the $ 10 minimum.
We haven’t had any problems with East Wok, and everyone there is so friendly.

I put an order in at 7 … it’s 8:45 and it’s still not here. Called twice and got no answer as to why … safe to say I will not be back.

I had the sesame chicken and beef fried rice, my daughter had the General tso, I usually forgo many Chinese restaurant opportunities because something they put in the food makes me nauseous. NOT this place, THERE FOOD IS GREAT. It’s priced fair, taste fresh and there very friendly, it’s also very close to home, very pleased

This is the best Chinese in the area! The food is fresh and friendly owners. Their lunch specials are very reasonable and delivery is fast and free!!! Plus they have Thai food, so you never get tired of their menu :)

The food tasted old. It gave me a headache and made my face numb. It’s so hard to find a good Chinese food place but I figured I would give it a try based on the other reviews. I ordered the general tso chicken meal, moo shu chicken, and veggie lo mein. The sauce on the general tso’s was gross. The moo shu chicken was so soggy and the pancakes were not cooked through, the egg roll I got with my meal was over cooked. The only thing that taster good was the veggie lo mein. Next time I get a craving for Chinese I will most likely skip this place.

Ordered take out for the 1^st time… sooooo goooood! So much food and they gave me 3 free egg rolls which is random but much appreciated! House special fried rice is amazingggg. All the classics done just right. Seafood soup is delicious!

I have ordered from here several times in the past few months and picked up food from here once. The staff is friendly when you pick up an order. When you do delivery over a certain amount they give you free food (not sure what the minimum is), but we got free egg rolls and free cheese wontons. Most of the Chinese food in the Roselle Park/​Cranford area is similar. As far as quality, this place is good. The sesame chicken is actually white meat and you can tell when you bite into it you are actually eating chicken. Their portions are huge, especially the dinner combinations. Delivery is usually pretty quick. I LOVE that I can order online and not have to speak with anyone over the phone… Major points for that. I definitely recommend this place if you’re looking for some decent Chinese food and don’t want to spend a lot.

One of the better Chinese food places we’ve had in Cranford (and we’ve had them all). We had the fried chicken, beef chow fun and Lo mein. All were better than average. My brother in law is vegan and had the broccoli in garlic sauce. Now this is a guy who has had the same dish all of up and down Union county and manhattan and he swears this is the best broccoli in garlic sauce he has ever had. I think that says a lot in its self.

Ordered takeout on a Sunday night via grub hub. The food arrived faster than expected.
Food was good, very tasty and standard portion sizes. Hot and sour soup was really good.

I ordered delivery here and we may have ordered too much. I was a little worried since their menu was way too extensive.
We had the cheese wontons, which were as I expected.
Also, had the boneless spare ribs, which were alright but slightly overcooked to the point of too hard to bite into for me.
For the main course, we had the Szechuan meal with chicken, beef, and shrimp. Not spicy at all and I was looking for a good kick. It was just covered in sauce. I mean it was alright.
The boyfriend ordered the coconut chicken fried rice, which was alright. A bit on the oily side.
One perk was definitely that it arrived way less than the estimated hour. I think we only waited 30 minutes for our food. And there was a lot of it.
Maybe next time I’ll stick to just the typical Chinese dishes because the Thai /​Szechuan was definitely lacking a bit.

Best Chinese Delivery in the area! They offer brown rice if your trying to be a bit healthier and their wonton soup is always a favorite way to start. Prompt delivery and they always get my order right.

Went for a quick bite specifically looking to taste their TOM YUM soup — their definition of it is spiced water overheated in a microwave with boiled shrimp
Chicken spring roll is half boiled chicken with a thin fried crust
Some saving grace was their white glass noddles with veges — not much better to their prior showing but tolerable
Do ur self a favor and don’t bother eating here

Ordered curry chicken and pepper steak to go. Food is not bad, staff is friendly enough and prices are reasonable. like a lot of these types of quick chinese food places they tend to fill up the dishes with veggies and pretty stingy on the protein.

It’s almost been a year since my review of this place and I wanted to update it. My family and I have made this our «go to» place for Chinese food in Cranford. We have ordered several times over the past year and they’ve been very consistent with whatever dish we order. They haven’t messed up an order on us yet.
This evening we had the wonton soup, shrimp egg rolls, chicken lo mein, and the Singapore Mei Fun. They aren’t stingy when it comes to packing in the wontons in the soup. There are plenty of them. The most you will ever see. The egg rolls weren’t greasy and very tasty. The lo mein wasn’t greasy and had plenty of chicken in it. The Mei Fun was excellent and had the right amount of heat once again.
Service is always friendly and the promised time is always accurate.

This used to be Chan’s Kitchen but the family sold it. We are very glad they did, it has become our go to for Chinese food. You can’t beat the online ordering system, fast easy and awesome that a user can view previous orders and get an email confirmation.
Have picked food up and also has it delivered, both times they were so courteous and a pleasure.
If you are seeking amazing Chinese food go to Chinatown. this is in my humble opinion the best in the area in terms of food quality, price and overall customer satisfaction.
Very good coconut rice, Coconut soup is also very good, the teriyaki chicken spring rolls are crispy, crab Rangoon could be improved upon. The chicken and fries is a great value. Dumplings are yummy.
Solid food great prices, smiles, and a family business a sure winner for us. I hope they stay on business for many more years!
