We should have gone all the way to Bishop. Breakfast ends at noon on Sunday, which we were really trying for, so we got lunch instead. I’ll be glad if I don’t get Ebola from my frozen rubbery turkey burger. I lowered my chances by only eating half. The fries were served dried out and lukewarm. Benefit was that since we only ate half, it was a short stop.

You have to keep it in perspective when you review a place like this. This place is located about 30 minutes away from the slopes at Mammoth’s main lodge and from what I could tell the only restaurant in the general vicinity. So it’s kind of in the middle of nowhere but is exceptionally convenient if you are staying in one of the cabins and oozes with country charm. They have a wide range of various items ranging from a pastrami sandwich, salads, bar food, and on New Year’s Eve they were serving Prime Rib and Pork Loin as their specials. In the café area there is seating for probably 30 people at individual tables and booths and then another 5+ seats at bar area that faces the kitchen. The dining area opens to a U shaped booze bar which has a couple of televisions that were playing different football games. The food was above average and far better than I would have expected considering where I was, the service was about what I expected(didn’t think they would have tons of employees for such a small venue), the food came out quickly, and the prices were very reasonable. There is definitely something to be said about eating in a quaint place like this where the servers are friendly, the ambiance is cozy, and the fireplace is burning while its below 10 degrees outside. Looking forward to coming back in the near future.

As longtime residents of the area we have had the chance to observe the evolution of Tom’s Place up close and personal. We eat there quite often and always find the food and the service excellent. When l read other reviews l am always amused by the customer who says he can buy the same meal in the city for less money. I am sure that is true… l prefer looking at pine trees and blue sky while l eat my hamburger, having it served by a real waitress, not a «server» and maybe a brief visit from the actual owner, not a corporation hired manager. If l pay a dollar or two more than they pay in Fullerton, l’ll take Tom’s Place every time!

Cute little place along 395. I wasn’t expecting much but my burger was really tasty. Great place to grab a bite and get back on the 395.

Cute, country charm with decent diner food. Rose was our waitress and she was great. Had a tuna melt with fries and onion rings. The sandwich was pretty good, but the onion rings were kinda soggy. Overall, I would recommend it if you’re driving through and want something other than fast food!

We were the table behind Gary H. We eat at Tom’s Place usually twice a week and always Saturday night. The food is always great and the service is excellent. What makes Tom’s Place better than most is the employees. They seem to have a way with making us feel like family. They are very accommodating with food allergies always interested in how we are doing and truly seem to care. In this day and age WOW what a concept. Keep up the excellent service and food.

We love going to Tom’s. It’s our favorite Place for any meal in the Bishop area. Everything we have tried, which is nearly everything is fantastic. It’s really comfortable and all the servers are great and fun to talk with. It can get really crowded but it is worth the wait!

This post is suppose to be for Tom’s Place Café, not for Blane Machine in Yorkstown, Ohio as listed below. I have never been in Ohio in August of 2015 or for several years to be exact.

We ordered 3 tacos. It’s good for two, you won’t over load, but enjoy this fresh food.

I love this place. Great breakfast spot. I love the sarcastic humor of the employees. Coffee is high octane. Price is reasonable for the area.

Best home cooking, great atmosphere and Rose, our waitress for the last 3 mornings is the friendliest and hardworking with a smile! The first morning I had the French toast, the second morning I had the special all meat scrambler and the 3rd morning I had the 2 egg breakfast with the ½ order of bisquits and gravy… I will be back whenever we travel this way again!!!

Did I mention Rose is the waitress that served us the last two days. Hands down this woman is Wonder Woman. She is very friendly and conversational with everyone. While still giving you the best service possible. Make sure you too here $$$.

I had a Yummy breakfast burrito on this nice Saturday. Sit outside and enjoy the sound of the water and wind rustle in the pines. Relaxing with the wife and 2 little ones. My wife had the biscuits and gravy. Delicious. The kids had pancakes. Come hungry and you will be satisfied! I missed out on the famous Bloody Mary. I am Definitely coming back for that and more! Our bill for the family came out to $ 46.01. Well worth it!!! The waitress nice and the wait was nothing. Let me and others know what you think. Enjoy Tom’s Place.

Great Place To, spend the night get your drink on and eat. The Cabins are Old School but worth the stay. The only item needed is the The TV back on the Main LV across the street, me and my other 5 five friends been coming here for new than 13 years and needed a little of entertainment.

Stopped in for breakfast and asked for special order breakfast, omelette with eggs cooked very well. This is a hard dish for most places to make. Toms Place did it very well. Food was excellent. Note, toast comes automatically slathered in butter so if you don’t want that you will need to specify. It was a quiet morning and we were only folks in restaurant. Service was efficient, but not overly friendly. Recommend for breakfast.

Never had a bad meal here, never left with my stomach empty. The fires, bacon cheeseburger, club sandwich, onion rings and staff are all top notch. The ladies who work here are always super friendly. I love the décor, heck I just love this place!

Don’t let the 3 Stars keep you away from this Classic Place. Throwback to the 40 – 50’s with history all over the walls. Food is classic Diner food. I had Pork Chops which came with mixed veggies and a Baked Potato. Side salad was iceberg lettuce with house-made Ranch on the side. Finished with Homemade Apple Pie a la mode. With our 2 Drinks from the full bar and my Husband’s dinner the tab with a hefty tip was 50 bucks! Totally worth it!

Kind of what you’d expect it to be. Simple food, big portions, not expensive. Had the chili, which was tasty. Enjoyed the old school iceberg lettuce salad w/blue cheese and croutons, I can’t remember definitively, but I hope it had the sliced carrots. Didn’t come in a wooden bowl though. It is up against a creek. Only negative was that the cop who gave us our speeding ticket on the way up was also eating there.
