The food and coffee are great here. The Plato Ecuatariano is really tasty.

I love this place. It can sometimes be tough to get a seat, because it’ll get packed for brunch. My favorite is to get here early enough for breakfast(try Bifstek!) or just after brunch for lunch. The salads are nice, and man, they make a great lentil soup. They also sometimes have posole, so ask for it! It’s the best, most heartwarming posole I’ve had in New York. Love it!

This has been one of my favorite local places– opened about a month before I moved to the neighborhood! The breakfast can’t be beat, and the staff are incredibly friendly. I come regularly for coffee and often bring friends for breakfast and lunch– we’re never disappointed. The egg and avocado sandwich is to die for! Coffee is delicious– great brews. I’ll mention the staff again– they’re great! Super friendly all around, and the owner regularly makes the rounds to make people feel welcome. When working from home I’ll come use a table for a few hours– the restaurant is bright, clean, and always full of distractingly delicious smells. Can’t recommend it enough, love having it as my neighborhood coffee place!

I came here for brunch and had a great experience. The tea and coffee were very good and the food was delicious. I had the avocado toast with a poached egg which was cooked to absolute perfection. The flavor and texture combination was excellent and the portion size was perfect.

Great spot with Wifi and great service. And amazing coffee, of course. Good number of tables. They have regular table service or you can get something to go. I like coming here to work and I live very far away.

I’ve been coming here since I moved to the neighborhood, and it’s definitely become a standard in my restaurant book. The prices are reasonable, the menu has changed a bit here and there(for the better), and overall it’s a friendly place. I mostly go for sit-down meals in the morning. The service can be slow, but there’s normally only one server working, so it’s understandable. The coffee can also be a bit of a wait, too, if you’re getting something to go, but again, it’s a pretty small place and the staffing seems somewhat limited. That said – the food and drinks are good enough that they make up for the«B» or «C» rating I would give the amount of time spent waiting for food.

Super cute space! The owner is friendly as well as the staff. My go to place for breakfast! Pancakes are amazing. The only downside is that they close at 6. I hope that in the future they will have dinner. I can only imagine how good that would be.

I came here for breakfast a few weeks ago. I ordered what I think looks like the best thing on the menu. The Plato Ecuatoriano– it’s basically steak and eggs with a bunch of other things on the plate. Really tasty steak and the potato pancakes were really good too. I liked this a lot and would def come back for it. Skip the tamales– they were dry and missing filling. Other people ordered the pancakes and were very happy with that dish as well.

Excellent place, great food, great service, great coffee. One of the better flat whites I’ve gotten in the city. Also got the chorizo breakfast sandwich added onion relish, was one of the better breakfast sandwiches I’ve gotten in the city. Reasonable prices. Do recommend.

Nice and quiet on a weekday. Good for working on laptop. Although there is only one outlet in the whole café… So come fully charged! The maple latte was tasty.

Best coffee, food, and service in Crown Heights !!! The staff is attentive and the restaurant has a fresh interior design and always clean. During the summer/spring I live off the yerba mate iced tea and during fall/winter i get hot lattes w/almond milk. Their breakfast pastries are always fresh and delicious. The prices are on the higher side but I’m happy to pay the premium given their impeccable service and product.

Great service, nice interior, and okay food. It’s what this Brooklyn spot is made of. This place offers a variety of salads and small plates. When I saw empanadas and tamales on the list, I’m sold! We got the beef empanadas and the pork tamales, and they’re pretty good. However, I’d say that they run on the drier side. The empanadas doesn’t have as much filling as I would like, and the tamales was rather dry. The filling itself is delicious, and is also mild. I actually prefer this for an early brunch! The two things that makes this place great is definitely the interior and service. There are plenty of open seating when we were in, and most of the people are working on their laptops. The service is good in that they were quick and very friendly! Would I come back again? Possibly. But I’ll probably skip the food and stick with the coffee/tea to enjoy the nice shop with a book or two.

What an awesome spot! Good coffee, good service, good food! THETRIFECTA! This place has a great neighborhood vibe. It feels like I’ve been coming here for years. We sat for brunch and the prices are incredible for the amount of delicious food you get. The waitstaff was so lovely and the owner was bopping around checking in on people and even gave my cute but messy boyfriend a wet rag when he spilled on his shirt. GONOW!

Very cute new café/eatery on Nostrand. Had the Watercress & Avocado salad. VERY fresh veggies, was pleased. Only issue is the salad could use a more acidic component or dressing… sort of bland as-is. Shared the chicken tamale– VERY delicious and freshly made! LOVE the pickled onions that come with it(pickled red onions and salsa fresca mixed together). Had the horchata… good, a bit sweet. they seem very«sit and chill» friendly. Table service available, sweet servers/baristas very excited about this new addition!

Maybe I had high hopes for this place? Being Ecuadorian and a barista myself I loved the idea of Ecuadorian food and a coffee shop half a mile away from home when a friend told me about it a few weeks ago. I decided to check it out on my day off. The space is nice and clean. Pretty floors and some greenery. The concept is coffee shop and eatery. I’m convinced, but definitely not a restaurant. The barista wasn’t very engaging but I actually like that. I asked about their pour overs and he had no clue of the offerings, there wasn’t a menu for that either. He clearly didn’t know what he was doing once I ordered something. The coffee was average. After I finished the coffee I had a muffin. It was good. I don’t eat big portions like most Americans but I’m sure most people would say it was too small. When looking at their food menu and I saw empanadas. This being a very standard snack, I try my luck with it. I waited for it for about 10 minutes, it was warm on top and cold at the bottom. Definitely not fresh but I didn’t expect it to be, I just wanted it to be hot. Had they made it hot, it would have been pretty damn tasty. Lukewarm, not so much. There was one other employee working the front of house, a lovely short girl who was very accommodating and was clearly enjoying her job. She’s the main reason for the 3 stars.

Can’t say enough about this place. The coffee(Counter Culture) is excellent, the baristas know their espresso and are very thoughtful, the service I’ve seen and have personally experienced has been top notch, the entrees, drinks, and pastries are awesome, and the owner, Jorge, is one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet. We had conversations with him regularly, he made us huge samples of things he was whipping up in the kitchen, and he’s simply chill and down to earth. My friends and I visited from out of town and while we visited many coffee shops, this is the only one we frequented because of the above reasons. Don’t get me wrong, there’s solid coffee around Brooklyn, but the total experience here was the reason we always came back. Love this place!

What a great find in crown heights! A delightful coffee shop that serves select breakfast/light meal options. I had the pancakes and am still drooling over the side of chorizo that came with it. The side just complimented the sweetness of the pancakes so well. The coffee was good, the staff were friendly. My only dislike about this wonderful spot was horchata. It was really thick, almost syrupy. Also, it didn’t have that cimmamon-y sweetness to it, more sour. Check out this spot!

This fantastic new café is just the kind of place I never knew I always wanted: cool interior, friendly staff, small but creative menu of cuban and south american dishes(think tamales, empanadas, cuban sandwiches, salads, etc.), and fan-freaking-tastic coffee and teas. You could go there for brunch, or for lunch, to grab a pastry to go, or just to get a cup of great joe and work on your laptop. The food is simple but very fresh and well-prepared. Attention to detail here is clear. Highly recommend.

Colina Cuervo is a very pretty, light-filled café offering Ecuadorian and other Latin American based dishes. I saw yummy looking sandwiches, omelettes, a quinoa salad, tamales and empanadas on the menu. Their pastries are awesome and come from the delicious Bien Cuit bakery in Boerum Hill. I will definitely be coming back for brunch on a weekend. The service was super friendly. Leaving the best for last: the coffee! They serve Counter Culture Coffee and they REALLY know what they are doing with it. Best cappuccino I’ve had in Brooklyn. I’m very happy this place opened in the neighborhood.
