Went here again recently as a last resort, and one of the few places that were open and I could get to during the blizzard. I went for a standard color, which I do myself all the time, so I thought what harm could it do. Oh boy, was I wrong. After having the woman continuously ask me incredulously if I’m SUUUURE I don’t use relaxers, because there’s no way she will be able to do ‘ethnic’ hair without it, right? She then proceeded to color my hair starting roots first which made no sense to me. The color I picked was a blondish brown since my hair was already a light brown I was trying to go only slightly lighter. Somehow she managed to make my hair even darker, almost black with undertones of RED! I couldn’t believe it. When I pointed out how dark it was she just laughed. She did not offer to correct her mistake, and when I asked when I could come back to have it corrected she told me I can’t color the whole thing again I can only come back in a few months to color the roots. Now she’s left me with this unnatural reddish black color that I’m trying to lighten up.

Love this Salon been coming here for over 3 years. Great Prices. The staff is friendly. On Saturdays the wait is a little longer than the week days but that’s normal for a Dominican Salon. I definitely recommend this salon.

This is a no go. She has all the right products but not the right attitude. And they do not know how to really do ethnic hair. I’ve been to Dominican salons that know how. She doesn’t know how to wash a weave and blow dry it either. They love to quote a price and then yell over your head in Spanish and the tv is on extra loud. This location is a no! Not even for emergency wash and sets. Go around the corner to Montgomery and Rogers!

I’ve been coming here for several months, the lady that washes your hair is very heavy handed no matter what is asked of her so prepare yourself for some pulling/pain. The wash & sets as well as well as wash & blowouts are a good value given the price $ 20-$ 25 whether relaxed or natural — even better on Tues & Wed(special is $ 15 for wash & set those days). The wait time is minimal, no appointments. BUT your issue 9 times out of 10 with them will be the sheer level of pain as they man-handle your hair like some straight up heavy handed line backers(lots of unapologetic painful pulling, tearing to clear & part your hair and a few dryer burns to your scalp as well while your hair gets done). Also, they epically fail at any and all special requests I’ve noticed — and no, I don’t think it’s a language barrier issue at all, they’re just only good at what they know & that’s about it folks, sorry.

Stopped by Della’s as a walk in on Saturday around 5p. There were a few other customers, but no wait whatsoever which was awesome. I sit to get my hair washed and tell the woman NOT to put any shampoo, only put conditioner then rinse and roller set. I repeated it several times and she repeated it back to me saying«ok, no shampoo, just conditioner.» She starts getting to work, but I notice that my hair is very sudsy. I look up and ask her what she put in my hair. she says shampoo. I was LIVID. I had JUST told her NOT to use shampoo and she does the very exact thing that I asked her not to do. She rinses it out and apologizes«sorry mami, sorry mami». I was SUPER heated, but tried my best to not scream on her and make a scene. She quietly puts conditioner in my hair, rinses and then does my roller set. I had to tell her to comb out from the bottom, not the roots. Now for the blow out. I have natural hair so my main number 1 concern is avoiding heat damage. I brought my own heat protectant which was put in my hair prior to the roller set. The woman who blew me out seemed to use a lot of heat and go over the same spots again and again, but thankfully I didn’t get any heat damage. She didnt flat iron or curl my hair at all. My ends needed trimming and even though this was a new place for me, I let her clip my ends. She did a decent job and didn’t take off too much. Wash and sets are $ 15 and up. She charged me $ 23 total for natural hair and the trim. Would I come back here again? Yes, but I would NOT allow the same woman to wash my hair.
