An absolutely delightful place to come pick apples. They had a musician, food truck, fresh donuts, horses, artisans, hayrides, a café, and of course apples! There was an abundance of the in-season apples for picking, plus a selection of picked apples at the barn. The prices were great, the staff is super friendly. All-in-all, a wonderful experience! Bring a stick, though. They don’t provide apple-picking poles.

We checked in at the barn and was directed to the orchards the next street over. So we drove there and parked IN the apple orchards! We picked empire and golden delicious apples. My daughters dream as she loves apples. Great, quick and easy family outing with the children. The staff was awesome! Was handed buckets and told to come back and show her what we picked. Very mom n pop type place for sure!

Just what we were looking for! My wife and I were visiting friends in Charlottesville. We asked them where we could go for a leisurely drive up towards the Blue Ridge Mountains to visit an orchard to buy some peaches or other fruit. They both recommended their favorite place, Henley’s Orchard in Crozet. It took us about 30 minutes to drive there, west of Charlottesville. Pulled up their website for directions. Just off a country road, north of Crozet… nice little town. Don’t drive too fast or you might miss the sign for the entrance. The orchard was exactly what we were looking for! It’s the real deal… an old-timey, rustic, working orchard. Beautiful setting, right up against a mountain. Definitely a family business. One of the sons gave us a sample of the peaches and explained about the different varieties and that you can pick your own. Wow are those peaches delicious! We ended up buying ½ peck of them along with the ones we picked on our own. Didn’t realize that apple season also started, so we picked up a few apples, too. The people are super friendly and helpful. Will be coming back for the main apple season! Made and ate a peach pie when we got back to Charlottesville… OMG!
