El Ranchito Mexican Grill

Good Mexican food at a good price. We had great service during our Saturday afternoon lunch. We started with the white queso dip! Not many places have this on the menu, and for $ 4 it is tasty. I had the enchilada, taco, beans and rice combo. I like the white shredded cheese they top everything with. It melts into a creamy yumminess. I also sampled the taquito appetizer (enough for a meal) and the flautas. Both were freshly fried and good. My friend had a sizzling bowl of meats and veggies. It was served with warm flour tortillas. The salsa is fresh but not hot. we asked for a spicy salsa and they had none.
The restaurant has simple Mexican décor…nothing fancy but not a hole in the wall place. There is no bar.
There is plenty of parking in the attached parking lot. I wouldn’t hesitate to return on my next visit to Crystal River.

Friendly helpful staff. Stunning food. Camerones a la Diabla were spectacular. Be wary of the cheesy dishes though.

This is the second time I have been here and It was better first time around, second time not so much. Lets start with no silverware and drinks with no straws. Ordered the Fajitas with steak, and the number 3 lunch (taco, burrito and enchilada). When I got my plate, I had a hunk of cheese where the enchilada might be, in fact it was there but the shell was mush. the taco shell was mush, only the burrito was editable. They did bring me a new enchilada and it was not much better, so be safe, don’t order an enchilada. We were offered one refill on a drink but for only one of us at the table, and she wants a tip, neh. I am actually writing this as the waitress walked by and asked the next table if they needed refills.
I will not be back, I am sure there are better Mexican places in Citrus County, If not, Hernando county is not far away. see ya later El Ranchito… uhh…nope, not really.

Been here two or three times with a good friend of mine, the décor is awful and the food is just okay it’s hard to order because none of the servers speak very much English I always found myself repeating myself when I order and using the menu I do have to say the wait staff are nice but I don’t go out of my way to go here. Definitely not my favorite place to go. Won’t be recommending to anyone.

Coming from Texas, we eat Mexican at least once a week. This is the ONLY Mexican place in town, and it is actually good. Not much English, but still a great experience. The queso was fine and the guacamole was good too. When you are are really going through withdrawals and you want good Mexican this is perfect. Good experience and will hit again before we leave.

The waitress tried very hard but was over whelmed with so many tables at 6pm on a Saturday night.
Food average at best.

Food was very good and service was fast. Queso was served a little cold for our liking, but other than that– great food. Free wifi made it a plus. We will go back for sure when in town.

Simple restaurant but tasty food and low prices. Big refill glasses on soda. No liquor .
I would prefer hotter salsa

Salsa from a plastic jug, stale chips from a bag, my flautas looked and tasted like what you buy in a wholesale store.
The «service»? unattentive and while I walked out the waitstaff was downright rude.
Citrus County folks really ought to demand better from their restaurants. This place wouldn’t last five minutes in any place with a choice.
Avoid this place if you value your eating experience.

The restaurant was just perfect for what we wanted. We had been on the road all day, weren’t real hungry and had already had a lot of seafood that week. Service was quick. Everyone was attentive and friendly. My quesadias were delicious! But the margaritas were horrible. I did manage to drink 2. Next time I will bring my Crystal Light margarita drink mix!

Service was excellent and food was delicious. Husband loves the cheese dip and for the both of us it was only $ 23 for our meal. Definitely recommend if you’re in the area.

This is the ONLY Mexican place in crystal river. We arrived at 5pm on a Wednesday And it was packed in the parking lot! It was just opening but filled fast. This place is authentic Mexican. Fast service, nice servers, food is cooked fast and chips and drinks are always full. If we visit the area again I will be back!

We have ordered takeout from here several times and the food was always good. Great food and prices.
