HORRIBLESERVICE. DON’T GOHERE. I had bad service here earlier in the year and decided to try it again today. I should have stayed away. From the time I placed my order to the time I got my food was 35 minutes. The cashier(Armand I think) moved at a snails pace while there was a big line and food was stacking up, waiting to go out. Fault goes directly to the manager for not scheduling enough workers or proper training. The food isn’t worth the trouble.

Really not bad. The food doesn’t taste exactly like what I’ve had in Hawaii, but it’s tasty and satisfying. I particularly like the island fire chicken and island curry chicken. They’re both well-cooked and flavorful. It’s a fast food-style joint, not the classiest, but seating is ample and the interior is clean. If I’m having a Portuguese sausage or Spam craving I will probably head to Rutt’s, but Ono is definitely an option if I want to switch it up!

Clean space. Tasty and reasonably priced food. Many options… and frequent coupons! Almost everything made here is good, and the employees are nice. They maintain the restaurant well enough for it to be comfortable to dine in. It’s not as fast as driving through McD’s, but it’s fast food, and goof portions.

Located in a big complex, lots of parking. Can get busy at lunch time and our food took forever to come out. Huge portions, cheap and greasy. Would rather spend the calories on cake or something haha. The ponzu sauce was sweet and really good but definitely did not taste remotely healthy…

Nothing special at this chain Hawaiian BBQ joint, but it’s good to have one close by especially when other options are primarily American chain food shops like BK, Subway, Panera, etc.

I’m pretty sure whoever makes the food here absolutely despises making musubi — or just doesn’t know how. This is all I ever ordered here so it’s all I can base my review on. I’ve tried ordering from here a handful of times because of how close it is to my work, but each and every time, the food comes out looking more like a lopsided burrito than musubi. It is poorly wrapped and falls apart once you pick it up. Half the time it tastes like it had been made from old leftovers. Needless to say, I have finally given up all hope for this location. You win, musubi-hating cook.

Came here one day after a long day at school. I’ve really been wanting to try this spot for a long time so I took a chance and walked in. First thing I noticed was the restaurant was nice and clean. I walked into a staff member mopping the floors and one wiping down the tables. The workers were very polite and friendly. They greeted me and asked if I was ready to order(which I wasn’t) and they patiently waited until I was done gathering my thoughts. I ordered the Katsu Chicken Plate. It comes with white rice and macaroni salad. The katsu chicken was fried to perfection. When you take the first bite, you experience the crispyness from the panko breading and then as you sink your teeth in further, you get this moist and tender bite of chicken… best I’ve ever had! Their macaroni salad is to die for! It’s creamy and buttery at the same time. I like to take a little bit of each item into one bite. I plan on trying more items from the menu but I do have a bone to pick about one thing, the reason for my one star deduction is for the price. It’s definitely overpriced. Adding cabbage filler to a dish to make it seem like there’s a lot of food does not give any reason to charge bucko bucks for a meal.

Ono Hawaiian BBQ is classic chain joint with solid haiwaiian BBQ food. I had the chicken combo plate, with the chicken katsu & grilled chicken. It’s a sizeable helping, not fit for more than one person but more than enough for one! The food took quite a bit of time to come with only about two people in front of me in line, almost 15 minutes wait time. Meal is cheap, food is good, wait is long. If you’re looking for cheap and decent food and don’t mind waiting — Ono is a nice grab.

I love this place! They could be a bit quicker to get the food to you but overall it’s great flavor and value. I usually get the island curry chicken but I do love their Katsu. Their salads are worth it too in the aloha plates. Sometimes they’re a bit heavy on the onions but the dressing and edamame are a good combo. Solid fast food Hawaiian.

Food was great, although a bit overpriced. The guy who made my food is a complete idiot though. Or just plain doesn’t care! Either way, not a good thing. I ordered Spam Musubi. I watched the guy prepare other stuff, then saw him prepare some Spam Musubi. He put it in a larger container, so I assumed correctly it was not mine. He placed that one on the counter, then proceeded to make another order of it, which he put in a small container. He placed the small container next to the large container, so I figured it maybe belonged to the same order. He then continued preparing more food. Four minutes later, he calls out the number for the larger order, and that person comes and gets it. Then he called my number and gave me the smaller container that had been sitting there for four minutes. WTF!!! What a DICK!!!

Kalbi short ribs and Hawaiian BBQ chicken lunch plates. Enuf said! Friendly service and there’s always a coupon special readily available to redeem. One lunch plate is enuf for 2 or 3 meals, depending how hungry you are. Love their teriyaki sauce, that is kept warm on her self-serve counter. Easy and yummy for a quick week day dinner.

I’m a huge fan of L&L, and had never tried Ono. I caved since there are no L&Ls in my area! Sad. Ordered the Hawaiian BBQ chicken plate which comes with rice and macaroni salad. This I was pleased with since it tastes very similar to L&Ls. I’m not a fan of the big pile of cabbage that the chicken rests on, so maybe next time I’ll ask them to remove it and give me some extra macaroni salad or something hehe. I also ordered spam Musubi, which was more expensive than L&L, and not as good. I mean it was fine, but just didn’t taste as good. Overall decent food, the wait and line is really long. But it’s pretty affordable.

I ordered the katsu(chicken) and instead of rice and cabbage I asked for all macaroni salad and boy, I wasn’t disappointed. The macaroni salad is to die for and I wish I had enough to bathe myself in daily. The katsu was delicious and my SO ordered the chicken and beef, he loved the chicken but thought the beef was«meh», He loved my katsu so much that when I brought my leftovers home… he ate them. :(

Ono was a mix of «Ono»(delicious in Hawaiian) and«So-So»(meh, in ‘Merican). If the counters and self-serve sauce areas were cleaner … and if I order just what’s good next time, it might even be worthy of an extra star. A Kalua Pork Combo($ 7.99) is #45 on menu. It should get promoted to #1. It took a long time to make(for a fast food joint), but the tender, salty, and sweet meat was totally worth every second. Sadly everything else wasn’t worth the calories(or time). Pork Katsu was the combo partner I chose and I simply picked wrong. It was a dry and tough piece of meat. Scoops of White Rice and Pasta Salad were 2 star fodder. The people behind the counter were nice, but the sauce area and tables were a sticky mess. I used a handful of napkins as needed. So, after one visit to Ono Hawaiian BBQ, my snap suggestion is to get a big plate of the Kalua Pork«To Go» while skipping the sides and the stickiness. This way you’ll elevate the Ono above the So-So.

Slow kitchen. Not sure how long it took to get my BBQ plate, but it was a small eternity. Rest of the restaurant was perfectly adequate otherwise, there’s ample parking, and the food tastes just fine for a chain Hawaiian BBQ place. However, it’s hard to excuse the slow kitchen… They had a small but steady stream of customers the whole time I was there and we all had a decidedly leisurely wait for food.

FIVESTARS for Ono Hawaiian BBQ!!!(Yes, my Unilocaler community and friends! It’s true! FIVE stars!). A few months ago, I purchased a couple of $ 20 gift certificates(for $ 10) from Groupon. This weekend, I decided to use them. I initially dragged myself into Ono(In Hawaiian, means«Delicious») Hawaiian BBQ in Culver City. I thought this was going to be another cheap knockoff Haole(Westernized) of the Hawaiian Plate Lunch. It was cheap, I was ready to try… TURNTHATFROWNUPSIDEDOWN!!! The food was GOOD, just like home in Honolulu! The first dish was the Hawaiian BBQ Mixed Plate: One piece of Korean Kal Bi, two thighs of chicken teriyaki, and a nice serving of beef teriyaki meat. The food was ONO! The beef teriyaki(like bulgolgi) tasted just like it was made home in Hawaii. Tender and full of flavor. The chicken teriyaki also tasted like it was from Hawaii — tender and super yummy. The Korean Kal Bi was good. They used the same marinade across all three meats. It comes with 1.5 scoops of rice, and a scoop of macaroni salad. What put this dish to a 5 star rating was that the food was home cooked just like in Hawaii, AND the macaroni salad was DELICIOUS and AUTHENTIC. I normally *hate* macaroni salad because almost everyone tries to make it and it tastes like goopy mayonaise. But Ono Hawaiian BBQ macaroni salad taste just like Zippy’s Mac salad(a popular restaurant in Hawaii). I actually ate the entire serving of macaroni salad! The second dish that I shared was the chicken katsu. I again have to say WOW! The chicken thigh was breaded with a Japanese panko breading and deep fried. The serving was 2 – 3 chicken thighs, sliced into ¾”-1″ slices. Well made!!! Tasted just like it was made in Hawaii. My *only* minor complaint about the food was that the katsu sauce was *NOT* good. It tasted just like a Westernized version of a Panda Express dipping sauce. But, heck, the chicken katsu was so well made, it made up for the junky sauce. Food Grade: A! Service Grade: A–(Front Desk Guy Ruben was cool!). Worth the Money: A! Overall Impression: A-. ** Note: Orders take quite a while to be prepared, so be ready to wait a while. Hang out the Hawaiian style and just take it easy! Mahalos!
